Preparation Before the New Year

The New Year's Eve was approaching.

Rope looked at the institute in front of him and rubbed his chin as he pondered decorating options.

"Have you figured out what to dress up?"

Red stood by Rope's side and opened his mouth to ask.

This year's New Year's Eve would be more lively. It wasn't just Rope and Professor Oak and the three of them. red and his mom, Ash and his mom, and Whitley and Sennogi would all be there as well.

Diana is going home to spend New Year's Eve with her family. That's what Diana specifically asked Rope to mention today. After all, she wasn't like the others, and Whitley's family was used to her being away from home because Rope was her teacher, and because she was away all the time. There was no need to make a special trip back home for New Year's Eve.

Sennogi, on the other hand, has no other family.

Granny Agatha was rumored to be here for the occasion. And Yellow and her family.

So it's going to be a busy New Year's Eve this year, too.

"Do you think we should invite more people. Help Green out with a life event?"

Rope opened his mouth wistfully and laughed.

Red froze at first, looked at Blue who was directing Alakazam to unload things from the car not far away, thought for a moment, and nodded silently. It was indeed okay to have a word.

So as the two men looked at each other, Blue silently shivered.

"That's not right, it's not cold either???"

Scratching his head, Blue shook his head and silently spoke.

The unloading continued.

Whitley and Sennogi and Daisy were working on decorations in the house at the moment. Rope was thinking about decorations, but that was the outside furnishings. New Year's certainly needs a different interior.

"Sister Daisy, what is this little thing?? It's so pretty!"

Whitley carried a small red round thing with delicate ornamentation on it.

Daisy put down the potted plant in her hand, wiped the sweat from her head, and looked in Whitley's direction with just a glance, and the corner of her mouth lifted up in a warm and tender arc.

"That ah, that one is called 'Lunar New Year Lantern' style is more special. It's not the same as our usual lanterns. Rope said it's the style from his hometown."

"So Rope made this himself?"

Whitley, of course, knew that Rope's so-called hometown was simply too far away to return to. So the odds were that Rope had made this himself. Of course, there were other questions as well. Whitley knew that Rope had a knack for making energy cubes and rice. But he didn't seem to have demonstrated any special skills in crafting.

"Not really. I made this stuff from Rope's description. It was given to him as a gift for his second year here."

As she said this, Daisy's face had a pride and delight that was hard to hide.

Honestly, looking at Daisy's bright smile, Whitley and Sennogi's hearts were quite unfeeling. Although it could be said that they and Daisy were both defeated dogs. But that was in front of Cynthia.

The Queen of the Main Palace!

But the two of them were the losers of losers when it came to Daisy. After all, Daisy had the nerve to hug Rope right in front of people, and Cynthia didn't have much of a problem with that.

The others on the other hand...don't even mention it.

"Say, just how many guests are we coming back this time? Seems to me like you bought a little too much stuff, Ms. Daisy."

Sennogi asked with some confusion. Other people weren't clear about these things, Sennogi had actually learned a lot of related things since she was young. She was familiar with all kinds of management.

She had also shifted her mindset, as long as she was useful to Rope, there was no way Rope would be interested in giving herself up.

Although it was true that Rope wouldn't really ignore her even if she didn't do anything, she still hoped that Rope would value herself.

"I see Ms. Daisy that you have prepared what should be more than 40 people's worth of human food, and almost a hundred portions of Pokémon food..."

As soon as this was said, Daisy exactly looked rather surprised at this girl who usually felt like she didn't have much else a bit other than her bubbly beauty.

"Well, it's a lot of preparation, but for one, it's for Grandpa's usual life. Secondly...Rope's not sure how much trouble he's going to cause this time, so it's better to be prepared. It's not like it's expensive, so it's better to prepare more than to be rude."

Hmm, that was something only someone who wasn't short on money could say.

Sennogi nodded, signaling that she understood, and got to work. Daisy, on the other hand, gave her a deep look. Thinking that this girl wasn't as easy as she looked either.

"Rope are you sure there are only a dozen people coming?"

Blue had a look of disbelief on his face, he felt like he had moved half a year's worth of food today.

"It shouldn't be a problem, look, just us, plus Aunt Delia and Ash, and Yellow and her family. That's almost a dozen or so! "

Rope said, cracking his fingers. After he finished shuffling, he looked at Blue, who looked incredulous, and said confidently, "There's no way anyone's coming back to join in the fun on our New Year's Eve, is there?"

Blue and Red looked at each other and both had a foreboding feeling...

"I think you'd better prepare as much as you can. You'll be able to make room for those old guys in the family in case they suddenly think of coming."

Although Blue knew very well that those old guys he was talking about would never get together at this time. But he still politely reminded. But he also felt that it was just a New Year's Eve, so it wasn't necessary to make a scene similar to the one at the Indigo Plateau Conference.

It should be noted that the Indigo Plateau Conference was the trigger for the head-on confrontation between the Oak family and the cleaned-out top brass in the League.

Rope, as one of the candidates to be the next head of the Oak Family, was able to bring together so many Elite Four, Champions and Gym Masters. That in itself was quite an exaggeration.

That's why a lot of people seem to think that this Rope guy is the person who possesses the most threat to the Oak family.

And the truth is... there's no question that this guy is just dangerous.

For Rope, he also knows he's dangerous, but what can be done, some people are like that, even without realizing it, they can make countless people happy.

It's probably just being a natural born leader.

Of course, Rope wouldn't believe in such nonsense and poisonous chicken soup. He knew very well that his character could only be described as good, and that he could also be described as generous when he had money.

But the ability to bring so many people together was more the favor of the world's will.

This point brings up again the difference in treatment between legal and illegal crossing.

After all, a legal crossing is one that has obtained the permission of the world. It will not be rejected by the will of the world. Thus leading to bad luck. Moreover, you were saving the world, in addition to the benefits that the person who arranged for you to travel out of the world would give you. The world itself will allow you to grow as quickly as possible.

Rope doesn't deny that the vast majority of his success does come from his own hard work and the company's extras. But ultimately being able to easily get these very talented Pokémon is a gift from the world itself.

Otherwise you'd have a hard time explaining how this Rope guy managed to scavenge two Pokémon with Champion-level potential from the house of a mayor of another country.

Especially since the Growlithes were still treated as watchdogs at the time...

Well, it can be said that in the dog world, there's no fooling around.

It's pretty inspiring when you think about it.

That being said, Rope also had some bad vibes.

"So... more tables and chairs?"

Red and Blue nodded seriously together.

So Rope went scurrying off to find new tables and chairs again.

He skulked right over to Pallet Town, got the town carpenter to buy a bunch of ready-made tables and chairs, and after having the carpenter find someone to deliver them to the Oak Research Center, he wandered around town like the skulker he was.

Come to think of it, he hadn't been back to Pallet Town much since the Indigo Plateau Conference. So it was understandable that he would take a walk on the streets.

Hell, he was just trying to be lazy.

"Rope, long time no see."

Rope suddenly saw a familiar voice ringing behind him, and as expected, when he turned around, it was Kaedenatsu, and Naganadel who was following her around.

As expected, this asshole, as soon as he returned to Pallet Town, he immediately disappeared. Sure enough, he came looking for Kaedenatsu. Although Rope is Naganadel's master, in reality, Naganadel's relationship with Rope is really not as close as his relationship with Kaedenatsu. It wasn't as if Naganadel could be said to be heartless or a white-eyed wolf.

After all, they didn't know each other very well, and Rope had always had a sense of detachment towards Naganadel. Rope has always been detached from Naganadel. Rope has always been distant towards Naganadel. When they were in Poipole, they were fine.

But when Poipole evolved into Naganadel, it became difficult for Rope to get close to it. The dragon family's unique sense of majesty itself makes them feel alienated from other Pokémon and trainers. This includes Charizard, who actually has this side to him as well. It's only because he grew up with Rope, and because he doesn't really have a dragon attribute.

So he's okay with Charizard. His relationship with Naganadel isn't that bad. In fact, their relationship is closer to a trade, with Kaedenatsu and Naganadel giving Rope a fighting force that can participate in the Indigo Plateau Conference and subsequently fight for Rope. And will still fight for Rope afterwards.

What Rope gave them was a place to stay.

"It's been a long time, Kaedenatsu."

Rope didn't say anything more than a faint smile and interjected.

"You're done being busy lately?"

"Eh, busy and kind of productive."

"Wanna go in for a chat? I'm still interested in your journey during this time. As you know, a little guy like Bey can't describe your story well enough."

Kaedenatsu pointed to the hut behind Rope and stroked Naganadel's head with a smile.

Naganadel cocked his head a bit awkwardly. It looked like this chirpy nature of his wasn't just directed at Rope either.

Rope smiled and said, "Yeah, it just so happens that there are a few things I'd like to talk to you about, and get to know you a little better."

Kaedenatsu cocked her head, clearly puzzled by what Rope was trying to ask. But she nodded anyway and said, "Of course, I know everything."

And with that, she crossed over to Rope and opened the door to the hut behind Rope.

Rope followed him into Kaedenatsu's hut.

As soon as he entered, a Jigglypuff ran to Rope's feet and looked up at Rope with a curious face.Rope smiled lightly and crouched down to pet Jigglypuff's head. I have to say, the touch was really good.

Jigglypuff was obviously happy too, and with a smile, he pulled out a microphone from somewhere...

Rope goes green in the face...

No way, no way, it's not true that he's been walking around too much at night and hit his knees, is it?

Jigglypuff, the god of song, this thing...

"Jigglypuff! This is no time for singing!"

Kaedenatsu looked like he had expected this. With a serious tone that left no room for doubt, he shouted at Jigglypuff.

Jigglypuff turned his head and looked at Kaedenatsu with an aggrieved face, like a small child who had done something wrong.

But Kaedenatsu had no intention of discussing with her at all. So Jigglypuff could only helplessly put away the microphone.

Life is not easy, Jigglypuff sighed.

Rope had the intention to comfort her, but he was also really afraid that Jigglypuff would open her mouth to sing under his encouragement. Rope wasn't sure if he would be able to stand up to Jigglypuff's singing voice right now, so he wouldn't dare to bet on it at all.

After rubbing Jigglypuff's well-handled head once more, Rope got up and made his way over towards the table where Kaedenatsu was.

"Tell your story."

Kaedenatsu poured Rope a cup of tea, then smiled softly.

"I met Red from your world."

Rope opened his mouth with a king's bomb. Kaedenatsu, or the otherworldly Latias was confused for a moment, then said with a bitter smile, "You defeated him?"

"No, we didn't clash."

Rope calmly gave an unexpected answer to Kaedenatsu.

In fact, whether it was a success or a failure such an outcome was within Kaedenatsu's guess. After all, although Rope was very strong, so strong that it was scary, Kaedenatsu himself didn't dare to assert the current strength of their world's Red...

But now such an outcome was clearly beyond his expectations.

"Something happened that caused him to decide not to make an enemy of us. So I actually have another question...I haven't met that Ms. Psychic from their organization until now."

"Aka told me that that Ms. Psychic is actually Sabrina."

"But Aka told me...he hasn't contacted Ms. Psychic in a while either...so who the hell is Ms. Psychic?"

Rope wasn't actually asking Kaedenatsu again at all. rather, it was the question that popped into his head after seeing Kaedenatsu...

Kaedenatsu was obviously confused by Rope's question. But seeing the pensive expression on Rope's face, she could only shake her head helplessly and look at Rope silently.

She couldn't give Rope an answer. After all, in her memory, Ms. Psychic was indeed Sabrina...

As for why Sabrina couldn't be contacted now... who knew about that?

Is Ms. Psychic still alive? Of course, that's for sure. Those of them who came to the other world have an inexplicable sense of their own people.

Of course, the only thing they can know is each other's life and death.

As for the status quo...who knows?
