Rope and the Great Sacrifice

"Mizu! I've come to see you!"

Sennogi pushed open the door to Mizu's room straight away with Rope in tow.

This was Mizu's room where she worked, though generally speaking they didn't have much to do and not many people would come to visit them. Still... there was generally no fear of what they might do in the room...

It was in a place where the gods were watching...and for people of faith like them, of course they wouldn't do those blasphemous things under the eyes of the gods.

So Sennogi had no qualms about just leading Rope into Mizu's studio.

"Why are you here again?"

Mizu spoke up somewhat helplessly when she heard her friend's voice.

But when she looked over in Sennogi's direction, she instantly winced.

Looking at the impossibly handsome man by Sennogi's side, her first thought wasn't 'too handsome', but...

"Damn it! Why are you really here, big brother!"

It was only after she finished speaking that she reacted to the fact that she had said what was on her mind. All that could be done was to hurriedly cover her mouth.

From the words of the great priest, she already knew that what her prophecy predicted wasn't actually the so-called marriage. Rather, it pointed to a certain god himself, namely Rope himself.

In that sense, she belonged to the counting to Big Brother. The big brother is good-tempered and doesn't pay any attention to her. Bad-tempered, it was no surprise that he beat her to the door.

That was why she was also on tenterhooks after listening to the Grand Elder explain the situation. She was afraid that this big brother would really come to settle scores with her. Instead, she was still relieved after realizing that this big brother was indulging in Sennogi's beauty.

Big brother, you go find a beautiful woman to chat and relieve your boredom. Don't come looking for trouble from me.

After all, isn't something like a friend a favor at times like this?

Plus, this big brother was handsome and strong, Sennogi wasn't at a disadvantage either was she!

Of course, that being said, people actually didn't think anything would happen to Sennogi. After all, for these big men, they simply didn't need to engage in all this nonsense with you, if there was anything, just come directly.

And...Rope really didn't seem like a brutal god either.

"Looks like you're the one who saw me from the crystal ball."

Rope had a playful smile on his face. He didn't really care about this kind of thing either. Looking at Mizu right now was just for fun.

As a result, he didn't expect Mizu's reaction to be beyond his imagination.

Mizu was about to fall to her knees on the spot.

Rope almost didn't react, but luckily was able to help Mizu up before he did.

"Holy shit, girl, what are you doing?"

Rope manages to almost giggle.

He ended up meeting Mizu's big, tearful eyes as soon as he looked down.

"Big man, I...I really didn't mean to see your gallantry."

The little girl looked pitiful, and her tone had a comical sense of ''I have no intention of offending your honor, big brother please still spare my life''.

Rope laughed softly and shook his head helplessly, ''I'm not a god. I'm just a person. Came here not expecting to be found by you."

"Didn't mean to blame you, just wanted to come and see who the person who could see me from a corner of the future was."

Seeing the smile on Rope's face and the genuine and gentle look in his eyes, Mizu was relieved to see that this one really wasn't some kind of vicious person either.

So she regained some of her strength and glared at Sennogi who was laughing at her, then said to Rope seriously, "Big brother, I really don't know how I could have predicted you. I was thinking of prophesying Sennogi's in-laws in the beginning...and I didn't expect to actually prophesy something."

"I used to think that this dead girl was going to be alone for the rest of her life."

Sennogi instantly glared at Mizu. it was not a nice thing to say.

Mizu didn't care though, after all, she and Sennogi had been close friends for years, so of course they wouldn't really get in each other's heads over that little thing.

Rope watched the interaction between the two with interest.

Mizu didn't waste too much time with Sennogi, and after a few moments she turned her head and said to Rope, "Big brother, our High Priest has commanded that if you come to the temple, you can visit anywhere throughout the temple."

Then she pointed to Sennogi and said, "Sennogi knows the vast majority of the entire temple and the people, so just let her show you around. If you have a need for some hidden places, then you'll have to ask the superior priests to lead the way. Because they have permission to enter and we do not."

Rope was surprised by the attitude of this temple, but nodded his thanks first. After all, reaching out is not a smile, people are not even giving Rope a smile anymore, this belongs to giving Rope a face.

"In other words, there's no problem with me wanting to see the High Priestess?"

Mizu was also flabbergasted for a moment when she heard this request of his. After all, although the Great Sacrifice had always been respected, not many people would take the initiative to meet the Great Sacrifice after all. Unless it was a last resort.

Still, Mizu nodded and said, "It should be possible."

"But I think it would be best for you to ask the High Priest first, after all..."

Mizu was about to say something. Wanting to say to have respect for the Great Sacrifice, but on second thought, this was a god, so why should they have basic respect for your Great Sacrifice. Wasn't it the High Priest who was supposed to have respect for the gods?

So Mizu herself didn't know what to say.

There are times when people giving you respect is a quality they have, not something you can demand.

But Rope's response didn't really bother her.

"Okay, I'll have Sennogi go ahead and ask."

Rope chuckled softly. Clearly seeing where Mizu was hesitating. He could certainly tell exactly why Mizu was like this, after all, this feeling of powerlessness...

He'd seen a lot of people react like that.

Sennogi heard Rope's words, so he waved at the two of them before heading over to the door.

And so Mizu and Sennogi were the only ones left in this room.

The atmosphere between the two fell into an eerie silence...

Rope looked at Mizu, who looked down and watched her.

But after a moment of silence, Mizu looked at Rope, and then back at Rope.

Rope was a little creeped out by her look, then smiled, "Er, Mizu is it."

"Yes!"

Mizu, dressed in aqua blue ceremonial robes, stood up straight away, as if she was facing a superior.

Rope somewhat powerlessly held his forehead, he really didn't expect this little girl called Mizu to react like this. She really didn't look like a priest, but more like a college student being trained by the military.

Rope said softly, "If you have any questions you don't need a teacher to look at me, just ask. As long as I can answer you, I can answer."

Mizu looked at Rope's gentle expression and couldn't help but send a sigh of relief before looking at Rope with a somewhat complicated expression and opening her mouth to ask, "Big brother..."

"There's no need to call me Big Brother, my name is Rope, you can just call me Rope just like Sennogi."

Rope was more or less uncomfortable listening to her mouthful of big brother. He had never considered himself to be much of a big shot. Or had always humbled himself that he wasn't a particularly remarkable character.

And it was also true that there weren't many people around him who casually used the title big brother.

It made him feel like a return to the original world.

"Okay, Rope," Mizu took a deep breath, looked at Rope in front of him, and spoke earnestly, "Are you a Pokémon or a human?"

Rope raised an eyebrow at the question.

"I'm human."

Rope looked at Mizu a bit strangely, as if wondering why she would ask such a question.

Mizu looks as if she's even more puzzled, though. She looked at Rope with some difficulty, then asked again, "But why, as I saw in the crystal ball, is there a ball of flame surrounding you?"

Rope then relieved himself, he thought that Mizu had seen something wrong with him.

But someone who could tell what was wrong with their powers was wrong in itself.

Rope opened his mouth to explain, "It's just my own ability." As he said that, he lit a reddish colored flame on his fingertips.

The fire leapt and transformed into a small arrow finch that danced around the room as Mizu looked on in amazement.

The little arrow finch stops in front of Mizu.

Mizu looked at the bird in front of her in amazement, she could see every feather clearly, and even her eyes were not dead.

Mizu subconsciously want to reach out to touch the little archery bird, but in the moment her hand put on it, suddenly remembered, this is not really a little archery bird, this is a flame ah!

Just as she was about to lose her hand, she was surprised to find that the flame didn't have a burning sensation, but instead was a comfortable temperature like warm water.

Rope looked at Mizu, who was having fun with the little Arrow Sparrow over there, and couldn't help but reveal a smile. But the smile was fleeting. He looked towards the two tiny flame balls hanging from his waist.

It looked like pendants, but Rope knew that in these two small balls of fire, one was the Origin of Evil and the other was the Origin of Water.

By all rights, he should have been able to sense the presence of the Origin the moment he entered the temple. After all, the Origin of Water was also stored here.

But he didn't perceive it at all. The little ball that was also an Origin didn't have any reaction either. This made Rope a little suspicious.

Not knowing exactly what was happening. But thought that he might be able to know something when he met with the Great Sacrifice afterward.

On the other hand, Sennogi looked at the gate in front of her with anticipation contained in her eyes.

She had just asked someone to inform the Great Sacrifice. If the Great Sacrifice was the same, she would bring Rope here to meet with the Great Sacrifice. Of course, there was nothing that could be done if it didn't agree.

Just like what was said before, the status of the Great Sacrifice was simply too lofty, it was simply not something that they, the juniors, could just meet.

Apparently, this was also a young girl whose brain hadn't turned a corner...

Sennogi was waiting outside the door with trepidation, while the Great Priest inside the door, after listening to the words of the priest who came in to inform him, began to straighten his clothes, and before long, looking at his own face and grooming in the mirror, he took a deep breath, smiled, and said, "Let's go, let's go and meet with this Divine Lord for a while."

Sennogi was waiting outside with some anxiety. Although only a handful of minutes had passed, it was as if more than half an hour had passed in Sennogi's senses.

The sound of the door opening came.

Sennogi looked up in surprise, and then saw the crane-haired high priest.

Sennogi's face showed joy, but she quickly reacted and performed a ritual salute to the High Priest.

"Greetings, High Priest."

Sennogi's voice was shaking with excitement. She had likewise grown up hearing the sage name of the High Priestess.

"No more than polite, Sennogi."

The Great Sacrifice first returned the salute, and then said.

"Now, Sennogi, take me to meet that god."

Sennogi froze for a moment as he heard the word 'deity' come out of the High Priest's mouth, then came back to his senses and thought about who those two words referred to on behalf of.

Then it also became clear why Rope wasn't torn at all. So casually letting her come over and shout at the High Priest.

Sacrifices were supposed to be servants of the gods...they called Rope a god, and Rope herself had never denied that status.

That meant that Rope was a person of equal status to the masters of the priests...

Such a person came into the middle of the temple. It was actually considered rude of the High Priest not to go out and greet him personally. However, thinking that Rope hadn't actively exposed his identity as a god either, so there was nothing to criticize.

What's more, Rope took these things lightly. So it wasn't really surprising.

"Alright High Priest."

With that, Sennogi turned in the direction of Mizu's room.

The High Priestess looked at Sennogi's back for a moment in a trance.

Sennogi was really well suited to be a priest.

The temple was large, but it wasn't that big after all.

The three quickly arrived before Mizu's room.

The High Priestess couldn't help but take a deep breath as she felt the fiery scent in it, but before she could soothe it out, Sennogi had already opened the door.

The solemnity raised in the heart of the High Priestess was also interrupted.

Looking up at Sennogi's puzzled look. The High Priestess also approached the middle of the room.

As soon as he entered the room, the High Priestess saw Mizu playing with a small Arrow Sparrow whose body was like a red jade. But anyone with eyes could tell...

That little Arrowfinch was clearly not a normal Pokémon.

It wasn't even a Pokémon at all.

When Mizu noticed the Grand Priestess enter, she immediately stood up and saluted the Grand Priestess with the most elegant and standardized posture.

The Great Priestess returned the salute. And all the while, the little arrow finch stood on Mizu's head, shaking its head as it watched it all.

Soon, though, the High Priestess's eyes were drawn to the youth who was seated in the chair.

It wasn't because of his handsomeness. Rather, it was the feeling that made her incomparably close.

That was the feeling of closeness after spending decades with the Origin.
