The golden light that slithered along the shaft of the blade and collected itself at the top of the handle, that shone with it's simple design, now mantled in a golden light, and quickly flew towards Cades right hand that was just about two feet now.
He, who was in shock, was barely able to follow the light with his eyes before it appeared in his hand that was somehow forced shut around it, clasping it in a kind of hold that would normally only be given to important things, a fist right around the light, until he felt something else.
In his right hand, the hand that was still battered and covered in many scars, there now laid a small, golden orb radiating an incredible energy and a feeling of pure terror, one that might never be felt after today again, one that was the collection of all the powers, of all actives and all constantes that Manug had gained during his life.
But, soon after, all that energy vanished and all that remained was a small marble, about as big as the tip of a finger but in the form of a sphere with a white light in the middle, Cades looked at it with a weird expression and stared as the fleeing actives and constantes headed towards the heavens, far away from him and the corpse of their former master.
However, despite them all running and leaving the headless corpse, the goo that had formerly been said head, and the shocked kid, Cades, back at the ground of the endlessly extending island that had been incarcerating them and subjecting them to all these horrors, the marble would remain, and Cades already knew what to do with this small marble.
It was the same as with all those stones that Manug had given him, he was meant to break it.
And after hesitating for a bit, thinking about that which had just happened, without even really thinking too much about it, due to the simple fact that he was both dazed and in shock, he pressed his hand just a little bit too hard and the marble fractured, with the shards turning into fragments of light and vanishing into his hand, and the light inside of the core wreathing its way around his arm and up to his head where it then entered through where his left eye was supposed to be, taking place within his skull as if it had always belonged there, right under his skull, but soon starting to move further downwards, towards the heart, or rather, where the mana organ was supposed to be.
He was in pain.
The absorption of the foreign thing that this golden light entailed was a completely new sensation, and not one that was good, it was as if his heart and other organs had even ripped out, keeled along the underside of the biggest boat in all the worlds, eaten by two giants, farted and puked out separately, there had been a parade atop them and after that as if he, himself, had ate them and was now wearing them as a necklace.
This was of course not something that could be imagined, especially when one thought that this wasn't exactly pain, but more like painful weirdness, an entirely new kind of sensation that could best be compared with a hungover that has a migraine that is hungover on its ex.
Either way, he felt as the runic sequences changed once more, now incorporating the small marble deep inside his body, though he wasn't certain where exactly it was, but he felt that it changed, whether to the better or the worse he had no concept of understanding in any way.
He however still didn't care much, except for a general sense of disgust as he felt something crawling inside of him, but he had long since gotten use to it after all the time he had spent with the silver stuck inside of his body, though that silver barely ever showed itself, and if then he mostly ignored it, due to the simple fact that his mind refused to acknowledge it for some reason.
But now that he thought about it, looking over to the pool of blood in which he had previously laid.. dead... and began to really realize something.
The pool of blood was not just red with fleshy chunks inside it, no, there was something else, the red was kind of.. silver...
At that point Cades simply couldn't take it anymore, he had to go.
With the screams still not stopping, but now barely being as loud as a whisper in the back of his mind, he looked around himself one last time and started to run.
He didn't really care for anything, it was all obsolete, useless, there was no reason to stay, perhaps burying Manug, but that was not something he could afford himself to waste time on right now, no, hecould not allow himself to waste time on anything.
Cades walked past the rivers over which he had previously jumped, still jumping but at a much slower pace right now, not really capable of moving at speeds as fast as he had previously done, he already had trouble manoeuvring through all the crevices with just one arm, and, as he had realized, one eye, after he had touched his face and realized that there was a deep hole where his right eye should be, a hole through which he saw nothing.
He had trouble everywhere, and now, with one eye, he specifically had trouble with the difference in height between things, perhaps because he had lost an eye, but either way he was soon to arrive at the place opposite to where they entered, climbing across the unmoving mountains that were much smaller than they had looked, never even seeing another moving being.
And indeed, there was a chain right behind the endless island, one of the chains that he had awaited seeing for so long that he had been despairing already, while just walking across the seemingly endless island for hours.
Finally, he left this hellish island on which he had lost so much.
