I walked with Daniella through the Blue Shadow Pack territory, my domain. After the incident with Ralph and his ridiculous mention of former Beta Jamie's claim that only his daughter Eva could be Luna, I prayed no one else would say such foolish things in front of my Daniella.
She was incredible, holding her composure like the seasoned lawyer she was. Even when the miners in the area refused to bow to her, she remained unfazed. "It's normal," she had said. "In my world, people don't bow to each other either, especially not to guests."
But she wasn't just a guest. She was my mate. And I wanted my pack to respect her as they did me. Yet, I knew that wouldn't come easily. My father's influence as the former Alpha still loomed large, far stronger than my own, considering I had been Alpha for less than twenty-four hours. I had much to prove, not only to my pack but to myself, that I was the leader they needed.
