Daniella didn't answer my question. She just looked at me and excused herself to the restroom, I turned to Lucas, still puzzled by what I had seen earlier "Lucas... what exactly is Valentine's Day? I noticed a lot of stores near the courthouse decorated with pink ribbons and people selling flowers on the streets."

Lucas nearly choked on his drink. "Oh my god, Dominic, don't tell me you've never heard of Valentine's Day. Have you seriously spent your whole life in Mariposa without learning a single human tradition?"

I nodded. "When I turned eighteen, I left Mariposa to attend Alpha training school in Arizona."

Lucas smirked. "Let me guess….deep in the wilderness, away from civilization?"

He shook his head with a grin. "That explains a lot. So, Daniella is basically your first human friend."
