"I didn't do anything wrong!" I exclaimed. "She's the one to blame!" I tried to exit the vehicle, but Simon engaged the locks.
Simon's reddened eyes glared at me. "Her miscarriage and near-divorce were your doing! You can't just walk away from this!"
I let out a mocking chuckle and applauded sarcastically. "Wonderful! Now you two can be together. Isn't that what you wanted?"
My words pushed him over the edge; he exited the car and forcefully pulled me out. "You're going to apologize right now!" he growled, stressing each word.
He pulled me towards the house, and despite my resistance, I was too weak to fight back.
In our former bedroom, Sylvia lay there, looking deathly pale. Upon seeing me, her expression hardened and she sat up abruptly. "You awful woman!" she yelled. Her hand moved too quickly for me to dodge the slap. "I lost my baby because of you! I'm going to end you!"
