The following day, Andrew arrived at the office.
I hovered behind him unnoticed, as company employees passed through my ethereal form.
Andrew's brow was furrowed, his demeanor radiating coldness.
He listened to work updates distractedly, frequently checking his phone,
The secretary reporting his schedule assumed he was displeased with her work.
"Mr. Baker..."
Andrew switched off his phone. "It's nothing, please continue."
"What was he anticipating? Expecting me to cave and call him as I usually did?
But Andrew, where were you when I needed you most?" I mused.
At midday, Andrew set aside his documents and dialed the secretary's extension.
"Why hasn't lunch been delivered yet?"
Andrew had prepared breakfast for Ava and rushed to work without eating.
Unexpectedly, today's lunch was significantly delayed.
The secretary was taken aback. "Mr. Baker... you've never requested us to handle your lunch."
"Previously, Ms. Brown always delivered your lunch."
