A sense of hopelessness engulfed him, dimming the once-bright spark in his gaze.
He rested his forehead on the desk, sobbing uncontrollably.
I was completely exasperated. "If you must cry, do it elsewhere. Your presence alone irritates me!"
His face showed hurt. "Should I move farther away to cry? Can't you just stop being bothered by me?"
He continued to bring gifts of flowers and jewels to my workplace occasionally.
He even gave presents to my staff.
One by one, they approached me to speak highly of him.
I felt so overwhelmed that I considered relocating the business to another country.
When he learned of this, he hurried to see me.
"Amber, are you really going away? Is it because I've been annoying you?
"I promise not to bother you anymore, just please don't leave, alright?"
True to his word, he never showed up in front of me again after that.
However, in our business interactions, he often made concessions in my favor.
