I initially encountered David at the company where I was employed.
At that point, I was serving as an intern, beginning at the lowest level to acquire experience.
In those days, I was unremarkable, not particularly exceptional. I was just another face in the crowd at the office.
David was also an intern, commencing his role simultaneously with me.
He wasn't exceptionally bright and even seemed somewhat slow-witted.
However, having grown up in a countryside setting, he was accustomed to challenges. His dedication to work was impressive. He was the most industrious intern, relentlessly focused on his duties.
Whenever I glanced his way, he was invariably engrossed in his work, completely immersed in front of his computer.
His resolve left a lasting impression on me.
Initially at risk of dismissal due to lack of progress, he was promoted ahead of schedule with my discreet assistance.
On that occasion, he was overjoyed. He appeared to radiate enthusiasm and excitement.
