A Warm Sunday

Chapter 22: A Warm Sunday

The warmth of a mellow Sunday afternoon filled the room as Shyam leaned back on the couch, his eyes glued to the TV. His elder sister, Aarohi, was performing on stage with her usual radiance. The crowd's cheer echoed faintly through the screen, and Shyam couldn't help but smile. Seeing his sister shine like a star never failed to fill him with pride.

Raitha entered the living room, holding two steaming cups of tea. She placed them on the table and sat beside him. Her eyes glanced at the screen. "So, that's your sister performing?"

Shyam nodded. "Yeah, that's Aarohi. She's performing at the national level now."

Raitha smiled softly. "She's incredible. You know, I've seen her during our wedding, but we never got the chance to talk. She was always busy, and I...well, I wasn't sure if I should approach her."

"She's not unapproachable," Shyam said with a chuckle. "You'll love her once you get to know her. Aarohi's like the glue that holds us all together."

Raitha nodded, sipping her tea. "I'd really like to meet her properly someday. Maybe spend some time with her. Do you think we could do that?"

Shyam thought for a moment. "I'm off for a week when winter begins. How about we plan something then? It'd be nice to have some family time. Aarohi and my little brother, Dev, would love to meet you properly."

Raitha's face brightened at the idea. "Really? That would be wonderful. I've always wanted to know more about your family."

"Then it's settled," Shyam said with a smile. "We'll spend a few days with Aarohi and Dev, and the rest of the week meeting your brother and his family. After that, we can just relax. It'll be a well-earned break for both of us."

Raitha leaned against his shoulder, a sense of calm settling between them. "Thank you, Shyam. For everything."

Shyam smiled softly, his gaze returning to the screen.
