"That technique of your family inheritance is strong; however, it is nothing more than a suicide. No human body could handle such pressure," Zara said with a stare.
"You shouldn't use such a technique anymore. I didn't want you to teach Leon as well, but sigh…"
"It's fine." Alex stood up with ragged breaths.
"That child is much more talented than I am, his future far greater than mine. Not like me, who is only a brute. I believe that this child could make it much better than I did."
"Sigh, Leon." Zara placed a hand on Alex's shoulder, and they hurriedly left the place at a quick pace.
"I hope nothing has happened to him by now."
She was worried in her heart; how could a mother's heart not be worried about her children?
As the two rapidly traveled through the muddy ground, their shadows blurred almost completely.
Every second, they were closing in on their house, and both of their hearts were beating relentlessly with nervousness and fear.
"Could the new king have taken action?"
Before they could even reach it, Zara asked with a trembling voice.
"No." Alex shook his head. "He isn't interested in us for now. He should be solidifying his throne, especially with this undercurrent of tension. He must refrain from losing any more power. These people are only attacking us to gain his favor."
Finally, they reached their house, and the two froze in place.
In front of them stood a giant human figure, naked, with muscles bulging to a height of ten meters, veins running across his body. His chest swelled like a monster, with red eyes and white hair.
"Le… Leon?"
Zara cried out, her eyes widening in horror.
In Leon's bulky arms was a brown-haired woman, her eyes closed, one of her arms completely crushed.
"This… could it be…" Alex looked at the scene, his parched lips trembling.
"The bloodline of the Gods."
"The bloodline of the Gods?" Zara turned toward Alex, tugging at his sleeve. "What do you mean by that, Alex?"
Alex was dazed, his eyes fixed on the giant form of Leon in utter astonishment.
"I have only heard stories about it before…"
"Are you hiding something from me, Alex? Alex? Alex!?" Zara tugged at his sleeves, her heart filled with anxiety.
"The bloodline of the gods—our son has the bloodline of the gods! It is said that all humans are the creation of the Gods. Even the Primordial Anthropos is said to be a creation, but over countless generations, our bloodline has carried traces of the Gods, gradually fading over time. This... this is said to be the first stage when one awakens that bloodline," Alex shouted in excitement.
"Are you sure, Alex?" Zara was in shock.
"Yes, I am sure." Alex gulped hard. "This bloodline only has a faint chance of awakening, and if you are able to awaken it, then you will have the chance to–"
"Isn't that Veronica? What is she doing here?"
Suddenly, Zara changed the topic, her gaze fixed on the giant form of Leon's hand.
"We allowed Veronica to take leave today, and yet she is here…"
Zara didn't continue, but the silence spoke volumes.
The giant Leon remained unmoving, silent and berserk, seemingly completely indifferent.
Then, he looked up into the sky and opened his massive mouth to let out a roar:
"Roar!"
A golden, flickering light streaked across the sky, as if acknowledging his existence.
His roar, though quiet, echoed throughout the area.
On a towering mountain that seemed to be endless, its vastness rivaling the universe itself, stood a golden temple at the tip of it.
Inside, a simple man clad in a monk's robes sat in silent meditation, his eyes calm and serene, exuding an aura of absolute tranquility with tightly coiled curly hair.
Even in stillness, his form shimmered between the illusionary and the tangible, he didn't have a physical body.
Slowly, from the center of his ordinary forehead, an eye began to materialize.
Beneath the ocean's surface, an empire thrived. At its heart, within the grand throne room, sat a tall, muscular man with wavy white hair.
His eyes opened slowly, a glimmer of intrigue flashing in them. With a small sneer, he muttered:
"I wonder if this one can complete even the first trial of desires."
In the Endless desert...
In the Sky Kingdom...
In the Underworld…
In the Abyss of Eternal Hunger…
In the Frozen Wastes of Eternity…
In the River of Origins...
Then, Leon's figure gradually became smaller again. His swelling muscles calmed down, and the veins around his body coiled. Everything returned to normal soon after.
Leon shut his eyes and fell to the ground. Veronica also collapsed beside him, releasing her grip as she tasted the scent of earthly soil.
"Leon." Zara moved swiftly and embraced him, tears slowly swelling in her eyes, gradually blurring her world.
"I am sorry, my child…"
She sobbed intermittently, holding Leon tightly in her embrace as much as possible.
Alex sighed and looked around the area.
"I'm afraid this place will no longer be welcoming for us, Zara. Let's move somewhere else." His greatsword tightly clutched, Alex's face turned serious.
"What was our fault? What have we done that our own people have turned against us? Even an enemy is better than these people." Zara looked at Veronica with an icy expression.
"Strength attracts envy, Zara. We might have been the most amicable, but in some people's hearts, there will inevitably be envy. Not to mention, our Finn family has made many enemies over the years. So after the fall of the King, this was inevitable."
Alex touched her shoulder.
"Let's leave. We can't let our child be harmed."
"Alright." Zara tightly hugged Leon and stood up.
"Let's go."
Their figures disappeared from the place.
In a faraway corner, two shadows lingered in the darkness, their presence completely vanishing, as if slowly fading from existence.
