"Kid, do you really know where we're going?" the soldier following behind Kael asked with a frown. He had been following Kael for a while now, and at times, they reached a dead end, forcing Kael to turn back and apologize, claiming he had memory loss and couldn't remember the way home.
Once or twice would be understandable, but after dozens of wrong turns, suspicion began creeping in. However, the soldier didn't rush to any conclusions. He knew exactly what a Death Soldier was—a being of terrifying strength and resilience. Unlike assassins, who were still human and could retreat if a mission failed, Death Soldiers did not. They fought until they either completed their task or perished trying. Their strength commanded respect, and their will remained unbroken.
The soldier knew that once Kael entered the Death Soldier program, there was no turning back. A slight feeling of pity flickered within him—after all, Kael was just a child. Or so he thought.
