After going through the notifications, he closed the tab and slowly rose from the ground. He couldn't help but take in the aftermath of the fight that had occurred. The bodies didn't affect him as much as the first time. He watched slowly as the bodies dissipated into particles along with the blood-stained ground. Everything had returned back to the normal form except the reduction of the humans present.
"You're alive, thank goodness!"
Turning around, he discovered Kent walking towards him, a huge hammer strapped on his back. "I knew you had guts the moment I saw you. To think that guy would crazily attack a kid." He muttered, shaking his head.
His eyes settled on Blake's form, a feeling of pity settling within him. 'He's too young to face all these,' he thought. He couldn't also help but notice his once fragile form, having developed a bit of muscle.
"It's gonna be alright, lad." He said, ruffling his messy hair.
Blake finally got off the ground and stared at the countdown in the centre of the room. His fist clenched so hard he had pierced through his skin, drawing blood. "What's gonna be the next test?" He thought with a frown.
[Time left 00: 01: 30]
'Judging by the way things have been going, it appears a very few amount of people are required to survive through everything,' he thought staring at the ceiling.
[Time up!... The next test is being prepared...]
[Congratulations Candidates for surviving and advancing to the next trial]
[Test: A test of endurance... Candidates will be transported to a labyrinth filled with deadly traps...]
[Candidates are required to find the exit and make it out alive within the specified time range—2 hours]
[Test will now begin...]
[Three... Two... One...]
The room began to glow brightly, blinding the vision of all present. When they opened their eyes, they took in the new sight before them.
A large maze like structure with the end unable to be seen from their point. The sheer size alone was enough to cause a slight panic within the minds of the humans.
Blake, his eyes a bit listless, had a strange glint in them.
[Candidates will be transported one after the other in separate sections of the labyrinth]
"It seems we can't solve this one out together. Let's meet at the end of the labyrinth then," Kent said, patting him. Slowly, one after the other, they were teleported to random areas of the labyrinth.
Closing his eyes, Blake breathed out softly as he felt the tingling sensation. Opening his eyes, he was already teleported inside the labyrinth.
[Candidates have been successfully teleported]
[The test shall now begin... A deadly toxic has been released into the labyrinth. Candidates are required to find the exit to receive the cure]
[Failure to do so within the time range shall result in the death of candidates...]
[Candidates are free to act in whatever way against their fellow humans if seen. The smaller the survivors, the higher the chance for the trial to come to an end]
Blake hands trembled slightly as he took in the sight before him. He felt his head becoming fuzzy. Probably due to the toxic, he thought. "How are we to survive with the effects of the toxic."
Before him, a large number of skeleton dressed in bits of armours and their weapons by their side lay as if asleep.
"It's best I avoid any confrontation and focus on finding the exit." Scanning the area, he finally found another path few metres behind him, leading to another area.
Tap! Rumble!
Just a step backwards, and the whole area rumbled loudly. From the walls surrounding him, deadly arrows shot in his direction at a high speed.
"Dammit!" Gritting his teeth, he began evading the arrows while also ensuring the skeletons were still asleep.
"Ughh." Given the high number of arrows, it was impossible to dodge all with a few finding their marks.
"Just the beginning, and I'm already getting injured," he thought, gritting his teeth. Trying to dodge all is an impossible task! Drawing out his dagger, he began deflecting the arrows at the same time evading.
CLANG! CLANNG!
Huff. Placing his hands down on his knees while trying to even his breathing, he suddenly felt a shadow hovering across him. Shit!
BAMMM!
The ground shattered with blood splashing over the air. Although managing to jump back at the last moment, he still got injured by the sudden attack.
Quickly looking up, he discovered the figure quickly crossing the path to the other area.
"Wasn't that a... human?" He thought in confusion. "Why attack me?" Instantly, the words of the automated voice played in his head. "That's right. We are free to act in whatever way if we come across each other."
He didn't have time to think now as their clash had awakened the skeletons. Holding his injured side, he braced himself for the battle ahead.
"I'm must survive!" That was his thought as he charged forward his dagger clenched tightly.
