Evelyn swallowed. Just perfect. This beast is out to cause trouble, Evelyn thought. She had no choice now. If she didn't follow, Shadow or whatever it called himself could destroy the whole Black Moon Pack.
"Hey, who do you have a grudge with? I'm sure Vlad wasn't offended. Even if he was, he didn't take offense." Evelyn said as she caught up to him.
"Because Vladimir didn't take offense, or pretended not to, doesn't mean that I didn't." The beast's voice was low and menacing, sending a shiver down Evelyn's spine. She could feel the anger and resentment emanating from him.
"And who might that be?" Evelyn asked, trying to keep her tone neutral despite the growing sense of unease. The beast's gaze flicked towards her, his eyes burning with an inner fire.
"Someone who thinks they can take what's mine," he growled, his voice dripping with malice. "Someone who thinks they can replace me."
