I stood back up gasping for breath, stabbing my sword in the ground. In front of me, was the otherworldly giant creature who had changed my life within mere seconds.
To understand how I got here we will have to go back a little in time.

This world is made up of five continents, namely the north, the south, the central, the west and the east. During a war called 'Resource War' nearly 300 years ago, all of these continents which then functioned as individual nations, came under the rule of the eastern continent. This organization had no particular name and was just referred to as the 'Government'.
The government whose power was initially monopolized by the east gave each continent their responsibilities, which were, the north for mining, extraction and technological development, west for the processing and production, central for the logistics, and the south serving as the Headquarters. The east gave itself the responsibility of agriculture which was already automated but no one could complain against the sole ruler.
2 days prior, the world had undergone the biggest transformation in history, appearance of otherworldly creatures, rapid weather and climate change, and in some cases even the terrain was not untouched but along with this a portion of the population had awakened new abilities. This left all the continents disabled with the exception of the southern continent.
The southern and eastern were surrounded by a powerful force field protecting themselves, it was an apology given to the south from the east. The timely response from people who had awakened abilities and the force field had protected the continent leaving it with minimal casualties and internal conflicts.
To reach the continent one has to head south-east from the southern most point of the central continent. From there, after travelling for a while one can see an enormous island with a translucent dark blue sphere with hexagonal patterns over it surrounding it.
The appearance of these changes was called the 'wave', When the wave began, the continent was able to respond timely. However the results weren't outstanding against the aquatic creatures which invaded the coastal continent.
The battle against the creatures almost felt futile, the entire battle was carried by just 3 people(among the thousands who participated), who later came to be known as the three knights. With the appearance of a mysterious cloaked man, the tide of the battle changed and was eventually won by the human side within the same day.

Present day, Maritima, Southern Capital,
The south had a vast system for the sub level governance, however only 3 people held any say in it, these were part of a group with 7 other people called the 'heads'. They weren't heads just for their, but actually headed departments of the government, with the first elder heading the group of elders itself.
The tenth position had been vacant for the longest time, but was filled in the day before by one of the three knights, Viola, the violet knight. However, she had gained no actual power unlike what she had anticipated. She had expected to become a bridge between the heads and knights but ended up being the most alienated among them.
The heads had arranged a meeting with the knights to discuss their future steps and each person's role in it. However one participant was absent and the heads had gone quite impatient waiting for them and eventually commenced the meeting without that person.
The meeting room was a vast dull grey room with the seats within the cavities of the walls. Each head was accompanied by one person of their choice, this of course had a lengthy procedure so the heads usually sticked with the same people in general. The first head's seat was opposite to the entrance and he was accompanied by the second elder.
The second head spoke out first, "Welcome everyone, we will proceed without the marshal to prevent any loss of time and he is on urgent business at the time, which our teams would surveilling over, through the transmission device following him." All the heads except Viola and the first head disgusted upon hearing his voice.
Another spoke, "I heard 'he' is stuck in the east?"
"Your information is correct, Grimwald, but I suppose he is not one we need to worry about," replied the second elder. Grimwald being the third head and only other person having actual power other than the first and second heads.
"What is wrong with the east and who is this 'he' you speak of?" Viola asked.
"You should focus more on your intel gathering skills, nevertheless the east was the first place to be invaded with Kyrialis as the epicenter and it is also reported to have the worst conditions among all continents. I strongly believe it would be better for you if you do not know of the man we are speaking of so I hope you forget about it," replied the second elder to Viola's question.
"Can we stop this already? When do I get the permit or do I need to break through the borders?" An impatient Thompson, the chrome knight asked.
"Well I would love to cooperate in your issue however we have recently received a report from the ruined central continent requesting mass immigration, so we will have to put your request for another day sir Thompson," The first head spoke out shutting him down.
The room remained silent for a while, but the silence was broken by the sudden sound of the doors which burst open, "There's an emergency!"
"Do you not know you aren't suppo-" Viola spoke out but was cut mid sentence by the second head.
"Don't be so impatient Viola, he's one of my men let him speak."
"The footage of the martial abruptly stopped aft-"
"Bring the footage in" the second head ordered and a huge screen began to play in the room.

Two cloaked men were running through a deserted plateau,
"Are you sure on missing out on the meeting, Fyo?"
"Not like you'd go for me would you?" the other man replied.
"I can't really let you go alone, last time i di-"
"West coast under attack! I repeat, west coast under attack! The situation's dire requesting immediate reinforcements!" a voice from a crystal ball interrupted the other man.
"We know right, this is like the third time now, roger that."
The two continued running and eventually reached the edge of the plateau and jumped from there, landing in the coast ahead of the plateau
"Well that doesn't look like the loveliest sight" the older man among them said looking at the blood filled sight.
A temporary camp was set up at the west coast, which was the only unprotected coast, 2 units consisting of 30 soldiers each were assigned to this duty.
However, not a single soul could be seen breathing among the ones supposed to be guarding the coast.
"Aren't those different from the ones we had fought?" the younger man said removing the cloak over himself.
From under the cloak appeared an incredibly handsome man in a military uniform, with his hand placed inside a glowing blue frame mid-air, taking out a sword with square gaps in the blade.
The two then rush over behind a tent to take cover.
"How about this I go attack one of the small ones and attract their attention and when it looks like they are all diverted to me just rush over to those two huge ones?" the man with the cloak off said.
"Why are the big ones for me?" the other complained in an exhausted tone.
"Oh you're my senior you know~" the other taunted running off to fight the creatures.
"Senior my ass!" the other cursed and took cover after looking at his running comrade.
A fierce battle began between the first guy to rush in and one of the monsters,
He took the defensive and slowly began luring all the monsters away from the bigger ones.
The fight had been going fine so far, but he then realized he wasn't the one who had lured the monsters, but in reality, he was the one who had been lured.
The monsters had slowly taken him against a cliff, and the one on one battle so far had turned into a one on six battle.
"Kazuo! these guys have intelligence!" the one fighting told the other, or simply Kazuo Shinoda, a former general of the southern military.
"Oh well I guess these guys don't~" Kazuo replied with a smirk casually cutting down the unintelligent larger ones.
"You'll pay for this later!" Fyodor mumbled to himself realizing it was revenge for the original plan,
The fight went on for a while, Kazuo had finished first and was just sightseeing on a rock close by, while Fyodor was being ganged up.
The fight finally ended with him slicing the head of the last monster and then Fyodor looked at Kazuo at the other end, smiling and slowly waving at him as if welcoming him, "You assho- huh?!"
He tried cursing Kazuo but was interrupted when Kazuo was violently sent flying into the plateau abruptly out of nowhere.
The impact had made him lose consciousness, his cloak was torn by one of the branches in the side of the plateau, revealing his slightly wrinkled face, 40 something.
What Fyodor didn't realize was that the impact hadn't just crashed him against the plateau, but it had also smashed the glass orb which was recording and transmitting their footage. This was what caused the second elder's secretary to interrupt the meeting and was as far as the footage could go.
What happened beyond these, was known to Fyodor alone.
A powerful presence could be felt in all direction, as if closing in on him every second, Fyodor could just turn and look in all directions, at a point he realized it was all in vain and closed his eyes to feel the presence.
His vision turned black, and then was covered by a mysterious cyan colored light, it slowly began to shrink down until it's presence shrunk down to the size of a dot.
He opened his eyes and slashed his sword at the air with all his strength, a frictional reaction happened mid-air and a creature appeared there, landing on the sandy beach from the impact, his forearms in front of his face to block the sword slash.
The creature was around 2 meters tall, with armor like huge scales over it's shins, forearms and torso, colored brown and a huge hammer in one of it's hands.
"Oh, you're not bad but.." the giant humanoid creature said, bringing down it's and taking a stance to sprint,
"Huh? it can speak?!" Fyodor thought to himself,
"You just need to put your back more into it to even give me a scratch!" it said with a diabolic smile, before disappearing again.
This time it wasn't invisibility, but instead it's speed was too great for it to be visible.
The monster appeared above Fyodor the very next moment with it's hammer readied above it's head, a chrome colored flame like aura surrounding the hammer's head.
Fyodor looked above him sensing the presence, his eyes wide open and his pupils shrunk down to a size of a dot in the shock, the next instant the hammer had struck down at light's speed and Fyodor was struck into the ground, a crater created around him due to the impact.
His body lay unconsciously as body flowed from it like a waterfall.
The creature glaring down at his body with an evil satisfied smile, as it stood under the sun.

Back at the capital, in the meeting room,
"Okay, everyone head back to your positions and Miss Viola I would like you to head to the scene," the second elder commanded everyone.
The meeting thereby got disbanded and a fight against another wave began.
