"The son of Jiang Renxing of the Jinxing sect is asking me, an assassin to be his master?" Mingyu looked at Jiang Yichen like he had just heard the most ridiculous joke. "What arrant nonsense."
Jiang Yichen ignored Mingyu's remark, and continued with his proposal. "As my master, you will help me unseal my core, and help me master spells. As your student, I will keep you safe and hidden. We could form a relationship where we both benefit from each other."
Mingyu's eyes narrowed. "How did you even figure out my identity in the first place?" he asked with genuine curiosity.
Jiang Yichen playfully stroked his chin, his gaze wandering off to an incident that happened a few days ago.
After Jiang Yichen left the Shao sect, he felt depressed and had gone to a tavern to drink to his hearts content.
On his way out, he stumbled through the crowded tavern, his vision blurry from one too many cups of wine. Suddenly, he bumped into a waiter, sending the tray the waiter was holding, clattering to the floor.
The waiter was wearing a blindfold, and it slipped from his eyes, revealing an empty gaze. The waiter didn't even flinch, and his expression was serene.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Jiang Yichen exclaimed, rushing to help the waiter gather the scattered dishes.
As they bent down together, Jiang Yichen's gaze met Yinzhi's eyes. The color of Yinzhi's eyes, made Jiang Yichen confused, and he had wanted to question him about, but Jiang Yichen himself, was too stunned to speak.
At the end, he could only watch as Yinzhi stood up with the tray, and walked away with the aid of his walking stick.
"I've met the original owner of your current body, and his eyes were definitely not grey. He was also blind for real." Jiang Yichen answered.
That explains things. But at the same time, Mingyu couldn't help feeling a little bit uneasy. How many more Mages had Yinzhi come in contact with in the past, and would that pose a problem for him in the future? He wondered.
"That aside. What do you have to say about my proposal?" Jiang Yichen asked with confidence.
"Not interested." Mingyu heartlessly said.
But Jiang Yichen wasn't discouraged, instead, a teasing smile appeared on his face. "If you don't want to be my master, you could be my husband instead. Would you prefer that?"
"Shut it." Mingyu spat, with disgust written all over his face. "I heard you've trained under so many masters, and got kicked out every damn time. Was it because you were always this block-headed?"
Jiang Yichen's smile froze, and his facial expression turned rigid with seriousness. "I could not threaten my former masters into teaching me spells, since they didn't have any weaknesses that I could use against them. But you have a pretty big weakness. Are you still going to keep acting all smug?"
Mingyu narrowed his eyes at Jiang Yichen. "Is that a threat?"
Jiang Yichen simply shrugged. "You cannot get out of here, alive, without my help. You will die shamefully if they find out who you are."
Mingyu's eyes twitched involuntarily. "Is that so? In that case…" he paused and closed the gap between the two of them. "I will just have to kill you first."
"How merciless." Jiang Yichen shook his head. "All I've done is help you, after all."
"I'm sorry." Mingyu said with no remorse whatsoever in his eyes. "Sorry that I'm so merciless, for such a pretty face like Yinzhi's."
Jiang Yichen nodded, as he slowly backed away from Mingyu. "I see." He said while still moving further away from Mingyu until he got to the corner of the room.
Click! Jiang Yichen suddenly pushed a lever on the wall, which Mingyu hadn't taken notice of.
Brows raised in alarm, at Jiang Yichen's sudden action, Mingyu opened his mouth to question him, but before he could let a word out, the earth beneath his feet shook a little, followed by a loud BANG sound.
Mingyu's attention got drawn to the source of the sound, and to his dismay, he saw that the passage which served as an entrance, and exit to the Lingsi chamber was suddenly blocked with a wall.
"This is Jinxing's secret chamber. Once the wall shuts down, we can only get out if someone from outside opens it." Jiang Yichen was kind enough to explain. "We are locked in here together."
"You little rascal!" Mingyu rushed towards him with his hands outstretched like he was about to strangle him.
"Don't move. Step on the wrong spot, and the walls will close in on us." Jiang Yichen said with his hand stretched in an halting gesture, causing Mingyu to freeze.
"Kill me, and you will also be killed by the Mages who will come in. But if you agree to be my master, it would be a win-win for both of us."
Mingyu's eyes darted around the room, feeling conflicted. I don't have my powers, so I can't unseal his core, right now. It won't be long before he figures it out.
"I need my sword." Mingyu blurted out. "I encountered a little problem with transferring my soul into this body. I need my sword to unseal your core. Without that, there's nothing I can do for you, in here. To retrieve my sword, I have to go out there."
"Are you being for real, right now." Jiang Yichen asked, observing Mingyu with a gaze filled with distrust.
"I am." Mingyu simply said, his expression, serious.
"Let's go fetch it, then." Jiang Yichen said, casually flipping the lever he had pushed, back up. "The wall will open in a little while."
Mingyu's face darkened, as Jiang Yichen's words sank in. "You!" He pointed a finger at Jiang Yichen. "You lied to me!" He yelled, running towards Jiang Yichen in a fit of rage.
In the process, Mingyu stepped on a certain part of ground, and the ground beneath his feet, sunk in. The room began to shake once again—even more vigorously than the previous time.
"Hey, I told you not to move, if not, the walls will close in." Jiang Yichen yelled as the room shook, making them lose their balance on the ground, tussling them about the room.
As a result, Mingyu and Jiang Yichen bumped into each other.
Jiang Yichen, wanting to regain his balance, tried to grab anything in sight, and what he ended up grabbing just had to be Mingyu's waist.
"Let go!" Mingyu snapped, gripping Jiang Yichen's hands, to peel him off of him, but the room still continue to shake, causing Jiang Yichen to slip further downwards.
Jiang Yichen's face immediately went as red as a tomato, when he realized where his face currently was.
His face was nestled on Mingyu's crotch area, and he could feel something soft, yet, surprisingly long and meaty, pressing against his face, through the fabric of Mingyu's clothing.
"What do you think you are doing?" Mingyu asked, flustered by the sensation he was receiving down there, from Jiang Yichen's face repeatedly rubbing against his private area.
"Shut up!" Jiang Yichen yelled back, equally feeling flustered, although his words were a little muffled. "It's not intentional."
Embarrassed, Mingyu didn't know what to do. He just wanted that strange, and slightly uncomfortable sensation to stop. Without giving it much thought, he took a handful grab of Jiang Yichen's hair, pulling his head forcefully, backwards.
"Arghh!!! You monster! Let go!" Jiang Yichen yelped, wincing from the stinging pain on his scalp.
"It's not intentional." Mingyu repeated Jiang Yichen's words as if he were mocking him. "Bear with it."
