"Good job on holding it in, Jeff."

"Sensei! I need to take a shit too!"

"Go, go, go... You all have 15 minutes to drop your shit or the bus will leave you with or without your pants on."

"We need more time than that!"

Even though Jeff didn't really need to do number two, he still decided to go once their bus service reached the bus stop station.

It is so he can isolate himself from his friends and have some time to assess all the information that he learned or, rather, that was uploaded to his mind by selecting Jess's boyfriend, Trud, as his First Target.

Jeff looks at the holographic screen of Returner Fantasy System while sitting on the toilet inside the cubicle.

What is currently being displayed on the holographic screen is a map that shows Trud's location. I'm fact, Trud's location is not that far away from the bus stop station where Jeff and his friends are. However, that's not what surprised Jeff. What he can't believe is the name and the kind of establishment Trud is currently at the exact moment.

"Mountain Nest Hotel... That shit is in a f*cking motel in the middle of the day!"

"Shit?... What's wrong with taking a shit in the middle of the day?"

Jeff's friend, Marc, who's in the next cubicle, heard fragments of Jeff's remark, which kind of led to a different understanding.

"Just focus on your own shit, Marc!"

Putting aside Marc's playful behavior, Jeff focuses on what he remembers from his past before his regression, along with the uploaded information about Trud, thanks to the power of the Returner Fantasy System.

In Jeff's past, on the first day of their internship trip, Trud would arrive uninvited and force his way to join their internship trip to be with Jess. That's the first event among all the things that Jeff wishes didn't happen in his past before his regression.

Therefore, if Jeff wants to change Jess's future, then he needs to interfere and stop Trud from joining their internship trip or, more conveniently, make Trud never reach the East-Seacoast City.

"What?... You're not coming with us to the East-Seacoast City?"

Jeff's instructor was surprised upon hearing what Jeff was planning to do. Yet he didn't exactly understand what Jeff was trying to say.

"That's not what I meant, Robby-Sensei. I'm still going on our trip to the East-Seacoast City. It's just there's an errand my mother asks me to do around here."

Of course, it was a lie. What Jeff intends to do is to go to the location of the Mountain Nest Hotel a kilometer away from their current location and do whatever is necessary so that Trud won't be able to make it to the location of their internship trip.

"Well, if you said so. But before you go, sign this first."

What Jeff's instructor, Robby-Sensei, handed to Jeff was a piece of paper that he had prepared at that exact moment of their conversation.

Jeff took and read its content since he was being asked to sign it.

...I, (____), hereby agree that Robby-Sensei will not be held responsible if anything happens to me on the street. Either be stabbed by strangers, hit by a car, kidnapped or enslaved, abducted by aliens, or any other similar events...

"What the heck is this?! At least be responsible as our instructor!"

Jeff tore apart what Robby wrote as a student's waiver before calling a passing taxi and leave their bus service towards the Mountain Nest Hotel location.

Upon arriving at the Mountain Nest Hotel location, Jeff access the Returner Fantasy System to see Trud's Target Status.

It was all the information that Jeff can currently see about Trud as his Target. It wasn't useful enough for his plan against Trud but there are other ways for Jeff to use the power of the Return Fantasy System.

For example, Jeff can make Trud's car, which is parked just outside the Mountain Nest Hotel, malfunction without leaving any evidence of his involvement. However...

With Jeff's power as a Returner, he can even influence inanimate objects to a certain degree. Like unlocking doors, causing devices to malfunction, or manipulating CCTV cameras. However, the cost for this power depends on the quality of the object.

For example, if it's a ragged beat-up car then 10 USD would be enough for Jeff to cause a malfunction to it. If it's a freaking expensive BMW luxury car, then 10,000 USD won't even be enough for Jeff to make it starts without a key.

"Damnit. Plan A just failed hilariously."

While Jeff is sitting, hiding in the corner of an alley beside the Mountain Nest Hotel, thinking of a Plan B against Trud, an idea suddenly comes to him upon seeing the convenience store across the street.

If he can't cause a malfunction with Trud's BMW car by using the Returner Fantasy System, then he could just do it manually while hiding his involvement.

With that plan, Jeff wears his hat, sunglasses, and jacket to hide his identity from CCTV cameras. He went inside the convenience store to buy 1 gallon of mineral water, went back to Trud's BMW car, and unlock its gas cover using the power of the Returner Fantasy System at the cost of 2,000 USD.

After making sure that no one is around, Jeff pours the 1 gallon of mineral water inside the gas tank of Trud's BMW car.

"That should do it. Serves you right, shit bastard."

After giving a hard kick at Trud's BMW car, Jeff runs away from the Mountain Nest Hotel with the empty gallon of mineral water at hand and a nasty smile on his face. But as he made it past the street, another thought came into his mind.

"That shit bastard is surely having sex right now. He has Jess as his girlfriend yet he got the nerve to cheat on her."

Jeff's nasty smile turns into a dreadful and serious one.

This is the shit bastard who abandoned his childhood friend before his regression and Trud will do it again if Jeff can't stop him or interfere with Jess's fate.

What Jeff did to Trud's BMW car can barely be called revenge.

With that thought, Jeff accesses the Returner Fantasy System, looks at Trud's Target Status, and finds any way to influence Trud using his power as a Returner until he finds something interesting.
