Arc 2: Chapter 18

Antitheus was oblivious to Anhel's "casual" visit except for the king.

The Demon King was suddenly given a letter in the middle of the night by his friend's private shadow guard and thought that something grave might have happened. But after opening it with a serious face, he was exasperated.

"I'm visiting your home~ Where do I stay?" - your most handsome friend

The corner of his mouth uncontrollably twitched. 'What. The. Hell?'

That was it. The letter only had that one sentence and one question and nothing more. There was no such thing as an explanation for the visit, nor any hints that could at least tell him why.

'So why?!'

Devian massaged the temples in his head as it started to ache. He knew all too well how reckless Anhel could be, but he never would have thought that his recklessness could reach this point! Had he forgotten that they had gotten into a war just recently?!

He ruffled his hair into a mess and reluctantly spent the entire night directing his private forces to clean an empty castle and prepared an appropriate amount of servants to serve. When morning came, he decisively cancelled the regular meeting he always had and went to sleep—it was one of the things he refused to miss.

The bright rays of the sun landed on Sevianna's eyelids, forcing her awake. She frowned as she slowly opened her eyes and squinted when she noticed the light. She shifted back to avoid it and had hit her back unto a warm chest.

She suddenly remembered.

About the fact that Adounis had thoroughly drilled her until she fainted last night.

And the fact that he actually played with her wings until she couldn't tell which was left and which was right!

She was only able to chant a retraction spell to save her sanity when she successfully clung to the last bit of her clear consciousness.

But right as her wings vanished, Adounis had growled, "You need to be punished" ...

Sevianna: 'Oh my god! My love isn't this a bit too much?!'

Lily: 'Says the one who clearly enjoyed it ...'

Sevianna: 'Kyaaaaaaa ~ !!! Lily, you're so lewd!' *smacks the bunny*

Lily: ... *exasperated*

Lily would like to ask for help. What should she do about this not-so-innocent master of hers? She would like a detailed instruction, please.

Sevianna's movements woke the person behind her.

Adounis subconsciously embraced the warmth across from him and brought her closer—indulging himself as he nudged on her head.

"Morning~" He murmured through her soft hair.

Sevianna's cheeks were instantly dyed red. After all, they were still naked under the blankets, if something was accidentally touched... she wouldn't be able to leave the bed!

"Mn." She looked like she was struggling to keep herself calm as memories about last night replayed constantly in her mind. Her eyes wondered all around the room until she decided to stare at her fumbling hands instead.

Adounis was fully awake by the time Sevianna had started to play with her hands. He chuckled at her cute actions and leaned closer, stopping her shuffling hands with his own, then landing a kiss on her shaded cheek.

He smiled when he met her loving gaze—well, loving glare.

Sevianna wanted to scold this devil for his actions last night, but she was stumped when she received a honeyed smile. How was she going to scold a man wearing a genuinely sweet smile? Her tooth even ached as she was directly on the receiving end.

At this moment, she finally noticed the featherless wings behind his back and the protruding curled horns on his head. She hadn't been able to see them before because the pleasure last night didn't give her the chance.

Her heart skipped a beat at the sight.

Adounis with wings and horns along with his handsome face and long hair made him look incredibly sexy. She had to use all her mental strength to stop herself from blushing even further.

She pushed him away with her hand on his chest and sat up on the ruffled bed. She pulled the blanket to hide her body from the neck down and glared. Her glares clearly had daggers in them but it had long lost its effectiveness. Especially since the sight of her protecting her body while her cheeks were dyed red only served to excite Adounis instead.

His gaze darkened visibly.

And Sevianna panicked.

"Leave!"

She said it so harshly, yet her blushing face said otherwise. Actually, she would have loved for him to stay, but this was where the original Sevianna was different from her. The original soul was not honest in her feelings.

Which resulted in her getting into all kinds of misunderstandings.

Adounis was not affected by the harsh tone. He had already selectively chosen to focus his attention on her pouty lips and her restless eyes that were frantically trying to avoid looking in his direction—specifically his bare chest.

His eyes curved along with his mouth. "I don't have my clothes."

Sevianna tilted her head—unsure what he was getting at.

"Are you telling me to—" A mischievous glint passed his eyes. "—go out the room naked?"

"If that's the case then I—" He got out of the blanket and stood beside the bed in all his glory—completely butt-naked.

"Waaah—Wa—Wait!" Sevianna roughly pulled him back down and tossed the blanket to cover him. Then, she ran towards the bathroom while Adounis was distracted by the blanket.

She had no idea that Adounis had swiftly dodged the blanket and had seen her white butt cheeks before the bathroom door banged closed.

Adounis laughed heartily.

Sevianna leaned on the bathroom door with a fuming face. She had to wait for a few minutes to calm herself before starting to rummage in the wardrobe on the wall.

The bathroom was grand. It had its own mini pool and a beautifully decorated lounge area. Her change of clothes was actually situated on the wall while a large mirror stood beside it.

Sevianna quickly dressed and took out some casual women's wear. Why did he have women's clothes in his wardrobe? She had no idea. But she bet Adounis had planned this beforehand.

When she came out, Adounis was obediently waiting for her while bathing under the warm rays of the sun. His long hair was sprawled on his shoulders and his chest was still bare—the blanket was only covering what needed to be covered.

Sevianna quickly shoved the clothes to Adounis and bolted out of his room, patting her red cheek along the way as she tried to calm down.

She went to the garden and finally breath out a sigh of relief. These past few days had been quite a roller coaster. She deserved a break.

She sat down on the same bed of flowers she had sat before and let Lily replay the events that happened while she was asleep in her mind. While she was focused on watching Lily's memories on the inside, she looked like she was daydreaming on the outside. She did not notice a little furry animal heading her way.

And when this guy was courageous enough to do so, the others followed.

Sevianna was soon surrounded by animals. These animals, however, had darker toned skins to complement the darker shades of the devils' territory.

Shyvva came across this scene and nodded his head repeatedly. Then he slapped his friend's back that was standing beside him and murmured "lucky bastard" before leaving—he was not planning to be the third wheel again.

Contrary to Shyvva's expectation, Adounis did not dare to enter this harmonious scene. He feared that if he did, he'd just scare the animals away. So he leaned sideways on the pillar and crossed his arms, watching as the girl's eyes sparkled when she finally noticed the animals surrounding her. His lips curled up and his eyes narrowed in satisfaction.

Just watching her had warmed his heart.

Sevianna's focus was spent on watching the scenes right after she slept in Adounis' arms. She finally got to know of the dragon's identity and was stunned when he identified her as a seraphim.

'So the curse was a test?' She concluded.

Then, when he said that the King of Angels might come for her, she was annoyed.

But it didn't take long when her annoyance was swept away as Adounis ordered to kill Brand. That was two wishes done! She could feel that the original Sevianna's soul was appeased. Now, her task boiled down to figuring out how to make Adounis break the slavery contract.

Or more specifically, how was she going to make him believe that she wouldn't leave him after breaking the slavery contract?

At this question, she felt troubled. She could rain him kisses and sweet nothings until his heart curbed but unfortunately that would be so out of character for the current Sevianna. And the fact that Sevianna was a little tsundere only worsened her problem!

After watching the "movie" in her head, she eventually noticed the animals surrounding her. Her eyes couldn't help but sparkle when she saw the sheer amount of furry creatures buttering up to her. She picked up a rabbit beside her leg and carefully place it on her lap.

'Wait... that's right! We left your body somewhere during our flight!'

Lily wanted to cry.

After Sevianna escaped from the castle, it had been fine for her to stay outside. But since Sevianna was draining her powers rapidly, she had to come back to lessen her burden. Lily was, after all, akin to Sevianna's familiar in this world. Possessing the teddy bear also needed her to use magic to make it work.

Lily herself did not have the power so Sevianna shared her own instead.

This was another reason why Sevianna wasn't able to let Lily posses stuff toys in the previous world. There was no magic there, and her power would have been picked out by the world right away.

Lily had come back inside Sevianna, which meant that the teddy bear was lost in the middle of the forest. Who knows where it had landed or if it is was even still intact?

Lily was aggrieved. 'Give me back my body! Huhuhu~' Her freedom was too short. She had yet to travel the world by herself!

'Uh, I'm sorry~ I'll buy you another one okay? I promise so don't cry~' Sevianna became absentminded again on the outside as she was giving her all to comfort the crying Lily in her mind. Promising her a dozen of cookies for the loss of her body.

Days seem to pass peacefully and not a single news about the angels' counterattack reached Antitheus, or if they were even planning to do so. It was exactly a week after the war when six carriages came into view on the horizon from the top of the gates of Antitheus.

These six carriages were lightly colored and inlaid with golden ornaments. Each was pulled by an armored griffin and emitted a holy light.

The guards at the gates were stumped. If this was the angels' counterattack, it was a bit too... small? And how did they pass the borders unscathed!? The guards widened their eyes and immediately sent a messenger to ask for instructions.

The six carriages continued to head their way, and the guards who were thinking that they might just be lost travelers dismissed that idea quickly.

When the six carriages were halfway to the gates, the out-of-breath messenger came back and only told them three words before flying away in a hurry.

"Let them in."

The guards who were left in the dust looked at each other confusedly. They felt reluctant in their hearts to let someone from the angel's race in, but they still feared their Demon King's strength, so they obeyed.

One by one, the carriages entered Antitheus unhindered. Their holy aura was so striking that along the way, the devils who saw them were stuck in their spots for a very long time. The contrast between white and gold and black and red had all the devils' eyes blinded.

WTH?! Did angels just visited their kingdom?!

The news spread like wildfire and everyone near the castle had flown over to see the carriages past by.

Little did they know that the angels inside were so high rank that they would probably be questioning if their life was a lie if they find out.
