That's your destiny

I went to the company, I had a lot of work to do, because Mia rarely comes to work. I have arranged the documents. I attended a few important meetings and then checked in on how the party planning was going. The employees worked diligently and checked every detail.

Me: Is everything ready? Everything should be perfect in the evening.

One of my employees: "Yes, everything is ready."

I'm surprised Mia isn't here, but I'm sure she's at a more important party.

I love planning events, but I don't like being in places where there are a lot of people. It's very tiring for me. Mia and I are very different. I like to stay at home and work, and she likes to be outside and have fun.

Since everything was ready, I could go home. I have to go to bed early because I'm very busy tomorrow. I have a wedding party to prepare. Mia will be very tired and I don't think she will help me.

I returned home. The security guard opened the gate for me and I drove my car into the yard.

Security guard: "Good evening, Lily"

Me: Good evening. How was your day?

Security guard: "I had a good day. Did everything go well at university?"

Me: "Yes, exams are starting soon and then I'll be free."

Security guard: "I am sure that everything will go well and you will successfully graduate from university."

Me: Thank you.

As I was about to enter the house, a servant opened the door for me.

Servant: "Good evening. Everyone is home and waiting for you."

Me: Good evening. Did something happen?

Something happened because they never wait for me.

Servant: "I don't know, they're in the living room with the guests."

Me: Guests?

I immediately went to them because I had a gut feeling that something was wrong. I opened the door and saw familiar faces.

Me: Hello. I heard you were waiting for me.

Daniel: "You've come at a good time. We were going to call you. Do you remember Henry?"

Me: Yes, he is your partner.

Daniel: "Henry and his son Killian visited us."

Victoria: "We will leave you for a while and return soon."

My mother motioned for me to follow her. As soon as we left, my father and brothers followed us. I couldn't understand what was happening. They took me to my room, which was quite far from the living room.

Victoria: "Lily, now listen to me carefully and don't interrupt me. We have very big problems and only you can save us."

Me: Do you need my help?

I was very surprised when she told me this because she had never asked me for help. She seemed scared and very nervous. I looked at the other family members and they were nervous too.

Victoria: "Killian is here to ask for your hand in marriage, and you must definitely agree to it. It's just a formality, because we've already agreed. He's just interested in your opinion."

Me: What? Are you serious?

Evan: "We wouldn't have come to you for help if that idiot didn't want to marry you."

My older brother said to me in an ironic tone.

Leon: "You think we're happy to be standing here asking for help?"

I didn't expect anything else from my younger brother. I'm not surprised at all by their attitude. It's become a part of my life.

Me: Do you realize you're trying to sell me?

Evan: "So what? You'll at least help us with this."

Leon: "I agree with my brother."

Of course I will help you and I will be able to escape from this terrible family. I will be free. Now if I agree with you, you'll understand what I'm planning.

Me: I disagree. I'm not going to marry a guy I met a few minutes ago.

Evan: "What? How can you say that?"

Daniel: "We're not going to argue about this. It's already been decided, tomorrow is your wedding. You have to accept it because you have no other choice."

I wasn't going to stop playing now.

Me: "Why did you ask my opinion if you decided everything without me?"

Evan: "If we hadn't warned you, you would have refused him.. We won't let you ruin our plan, no matter what."

Me: How sure are you that I won't say no tomorrow?

Leon: "We'll take care of that. Do you think we're stupid?"

I'm sure you're stupid, but if I tell you this, you'll ruin my plan. I'll be free tomorrow.

They were very happy with my answer.

Daniel: "You made the right decision."

Victoria: "Let's go. Guests are waiting for us."

They immediately left the room. I followed them back.

I have to agree with him now, and I'll explain everything later.

Victoria: "We've already talked to Lily and explained everything to her. She agrees to the wedding."

Henry: "Excellent. We've been partners for years, and now we're going to become family. I'm so happy. Killian, don't forget the ring."

Killian took the ring box out of his pocket. They really had everything planned already. He put a ring on my finger.

Daniel: "We should celebrate this event. The table will already be set."

They haven't been this happy in a long time. I got a message on my phone. It was supposed to be from Joel, but I can't read it right now. I'll answer as soon as they leave.

I didn't get a chance to talk to Killian. I want to explain everything to him before we get married. This is the most important thing for me right now, because tomorrow is the wedding and I have little time left to talk to him. I don't know why they're in such a hurry to get us married, but they must have a serious problem.

Killian left so quickly that I couldn't talk to him.

Henry: "I'll see you tomorrow at the wedding. Don't worry, we've already taken care of everything."

Daniel: "Thanks for that. We'll talk about the rest after the wedding."

My father was having problems with his company, and considering how much money my family was spending, I knew why they were rushing to get me married. Now everything made sense. They have no money left. They will see great benefits from this deal with Henry, but I don't understand why Henry agreed to it. What benefits will he see from my marriage to Killian?

Victoria: "Go to sleep, you have to get up early tomorrow."

Evan: "Even if you change your mind, you still won't be able to do anything, because this is your destiny."

I immediately went to the bedroom, I didn't have the energy or the mood to talk to them.

I checked my phone. There was indeed a message from Joel.

Joel: "Can you come out to the beach to meet me? I want to tell you something."

Me: "If it's urgent, I'll go to the beach. If not, then tell me another time."

What does he have to say that he can't say on the phone or text me?! This interested me very much.

Joel: "It's urgent. I have to tell you today."

Me: "Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes."

Since it's so urgent, I have to go see him right now. I opened the door carefully. There was no one in the hallway, and I stepped outside. I couldn't go in my car because it would wake up the others, so I called a taxi.

I told the security guard that I had to leave immediately. I knew he wouldn't tell my parents anything.

Security guard: "Be careful."

Me: "Don't worry, I'll be back soon."

The taxi arrived and I went to the beach, where Joel was waiting for me.
