Things fall apart

We went back home to watch a movie. Amelia and Henry joined us. Everything was already ready when we arrived.

Amelia: "How was your day?"

Me: It was a great day. My friend and I went shooting and had a lot of fun.

Henry: "It would be very fun. Let's go together too."

Me: My friends are participating in the competition and we are going to attend. If you want, you can come too.

Henry: "Killian already told me. Next time we'll go, we have a lot of work to do at the company right now. You and Killian should rest. You'll be tired after the exams and Killian is working all the time. You haven't been able to rest since your wedding either."

They always take care of us and I feel very comfortable with them. Killian really has the best parents. I'm glad they're not like my parents.

It was a very interesting movie. I made a good decision to watch the movie at home with them. I was comfortable and had plenty of snacks and drinks. I think I'll watch movies with them more often from now on.

After the movie ended, I checked my phone. I had the sound on my phone turned off and didn't notice that my mom was calling me. When I didn't answer, she left a message. 

Victoria: "Call me immediately when you see this message. I have something important to tell you."

I thought something serious had happened, so I called immediately.

Me: Did something happen?

Killian and his parents looked at me when I said that.

Victoria: "What does your video mean? Aren't you ashamed to upload that?! I know you don't care what people say about us, but you're not thinking about Killian and his family. You should be ashamed!!!"

What video? What did I upload that I should be ashamed of? 

Me: "I have no idea what you're talking about?"

Victoria: "I'm talking about the video of you and your friend. You took it with pride and uploaded it. Don't you know that shooting is not a woman's job? Delete it and don't upload anything like that again. What's next? You'll kill someone?"

Me: "I only hear nonsense, because what you are saying has no logic. By your logic, just because you have a driver's license, does that mean you're going to hit someone and kill them??! I am not going to delete it. If you have any complaints, that is your problem, not mine. You're the only one who thinks I'm embarrassing anyone with my actions, so don't worry about us."

I didn't say anything else and hung up the phone. I only called because I thought something had happened. I'm not going to listen to their nonsense anymore. 

Killian: "Are you okay? Did something happen?"

Amelia: "Did they say something bad to you?"

Me: Don't worry. It's not worth getting angry at such a person. She didn't like the video I uploaded and wanted me to delete it, but I'm not going to do that because I didn't do anything wrong.

Isn't that a woman's job? I was expecting her to say that, nothing would surprise me from them. They also don't like me being friends with Tim.

Henry: "What video was that person talking about?"

Me: It's a video of me and Nora, we filmed it together today when we were shooting. Apparently, it's inappropriate for a woman to act like that.

Killian: "That's nonsense. Do whatever you want and don't listen to what people say."

Henry: "My son is right. Do whatever you want. We will always support you."

Amelia: "There are still people who think like that. Don't pay attention. Let's go together next time and take lots of videos and pictures."

Their words made me happy. I'm glad they don't think like them. It's good to have a family by your side who understands you and supports you no matter what you do. It was a happy day, so I'm not going to spoil the mood because of my family.

Even though I'm tired, I don't want to sleep right now. I went out into the garden to get some fresh air. A short while later, Amelia came out to see me, holding something in her hand.

Amelia: "I brought you blueberry ice cream, I know it's your favorite."

Me: Thank you very much, how do you know about this?

Amelia: "We have known your family for a long time. Before your father became our partner in the company, his brother was our partner."

What? Do I have an uncle? My parents never mentioned him. Something is wrong here. I definitely need to find out about it.

Me: My parents don't talk about him often. 

Amelia: "It's not surprising, because it's still a painful topic for them. It was very difficult for us to bear this news because he was our best friend. If it weren't for that accident, things would probably be different now."

I don't think I'll hear anything more from her about this story, so I know who to ask for help.

We talked for a long time and then returned home. I immediately sent a message to Tim. If anyone can help me, it's him.

Me: Tim, I know you're busy preparing for the competition, but I need your help. Can you find out information about my father's brother? I think there's something important behind this.

I am sure that behind this story lies the answer I have been searching for my entire life. I don't want to get my hopes up, but somehow I feel like this explains why my family treats me so badly. There can't be any other explanation. I can't be so inactive, I know that Tim will figure everything out and I'll know everything soon, but tomorrow I'll return to my family's house and take samples for DNA analysis. I know my family's schedule, so it won't be difficult for me to sneak into the house. If they catch me, I'll say I'm here to pick up my things.

I planned everything. I know that after talking to my mother today, if I meet her at home, I don't want to know what awaits me, but I have to do this. I will learn the truth in time and fight for what was already mine.

I need to tell Killian about this, but what should I tell him? My whole life my family treated me badly and now I think my father is a different person.

Killian: "Lily, are you okay? You seem to be thinking about something and feeling restless."

Me: I don't know where to start.... I recently found out that I had an uncle. I don't know why, but I feel like he was my father. I don't want my parents to find out about this, so I'm going to do a DNA test. It may be silly what I'm saying, but I have this feeling and I want to find out everything so I can be at peace later.

Killian: "It's not nonsense. I'll help you figure it out. What's your plan?"

Me: I'm going to my parents' house tomorrow.

Killian: "Have you talked to my parents? They might know if your uncle had a child. I think we should start with that first."

He was right. First, we need to find out if my uncle had a child.

Killian: "Come, let's talk to them."

Me: Killian, it's too late, let's talk to them tomorrow.

Killian: "They are not sleeping yet. I know you won't be able to sleep until you find out the truth."

He knows me so well, I really wouldn't be able to sleep.

Killian: "Mom, Dad, are you sleeping?"

Amelia: "No, dear. Did something happen?"

Killian and I entered the room. They were getting ready for bed.

Killian: "Lily and I are curious about something... This is about his uncle."

Henry: "What do you want to know about him?"

Me: Did my uncle have a child?

I was impatiently waiting for their response, and my heart was beating fast. Their answer will change everything.

Henry: "He had a daughter, but they died together in an accident."

My hunch was right. Now I'm even more certain that I'm his child. Killian hugged me. I wasn't expecting this, but it calmed me down.

Killian: "Don't worry, we're by your side and we'll figure everything out together."

Amelia: "What's going on, son?"

Killian looked at me. I indicated that he could tell them everything. They were amazed, they couldn't believe it.

Henry: "If this is true, I don't understand why they acted like this."

I know very well why they acted like that. They wanted my money. Now they have everything. They didn't want to divide the property with me.

One thing I don't understand is why no one said anything. Can I believe others didn't know anything about this?? I won't leave this like this, I will definitely find out the truth.
