Lariette invited Declan and Rafael to join them having lunch with Chairman Delaney. Ruediger believed whatever the two men had to say, it might be unpleasant.

'Anyway, Declan is capable. I'll take over if he screws up.'

Ruediger initially entertained the idea of having his men discreetly follow Declan's subordinates during the investigation. He dismissed the thought after weighing it further.
