"Big guy? Enjoying your snack already?" Vans cheerfully said, entering the room as he opened the door. "Mia, he's still there on the bed. Now I'm getting real worried? Father won't like any bad news from the mansion he'll—"
"Now now don't get worked up again husband, let me take a look at him first." Mia said, standing on her toes and planting a kiss on his lips to ease his nerves. Looking in the direction of the bed, she brought her hands up her face to shift her silver hair back. As tying it up to the others, she now exposed left eye previously concealed by it.
On her eyeball, an inscription could be seen and it seemed to now be a part of it. Soon, the rune lit up bright green as she took a look at Zlatan, slowly approaching the bedside. Her gaze fixed on one part of him, his face. She climbed up onto the bed, slowly and oddly staring at him. Taking up his hands into hers, she rubbed it with her eyes not moving from his face for even a second. Gently placing his hands back to his side, she went to brush back the strands of hair covering his forehead, as that was the area she'd been focussing on.
Looking at her, though his eyes were narrowed he didn't interrupt or say a word. After all, he knew and was used to being around Runers. Her type being overly gentle and silent whenever they worked, especially with that eye exposed.
Her gaze following the exact spot she focused on all the up for a bit. She brought her hands closer to it but didn't dare touch it, as though Vans couldn't see it— she could. The threadlike thing with one end floating in the air, and the other disappearing right into his head. It was what was known or any Runer knew to be called The Silver Cord. However, she'd never heard of it being so short enough for its end to be seen. Since it was known to be so long, that it could go around the entire world approximately seven times. However, her knowledge wasn't deep on such things, but she knew of two people who did. One was closer and even in the Mansion, the other far though in the same district as they were. Yet the latter was the best choice, only because of one reason— he still had his Sanity.
"Vans, we must send for Lo-an." Mia said, getting up from the bed, untying her hair and covering up her eye once again.
"Lo-an? You know Tilon is far from here, do we have the time?" Vans asked, his gaze on Zlatan. "Of course darling, his breathing is fine— he doesn't give up easily like his Uncle."
"Yeah, you're right. Just like his uncle." He planted a kiss on Mia's head, hugging her back with a slight worried look up his face. "I want the best horse the stables have to offer."
"Wait huh, I know what you're thinking. I'm not taking you along and you're not getting Amber either."
"Now you just did it, who said anything about you going. I'm tagging along since you are." She said with an alluring smile up her face, while looking up at Vans. " I didn't. Ugh, fine I won't argue about going. You little sly fox of a wife."
"Focus, on your nephew and keep it in too— we've got a journey to make." Mia's hands went up his slightly bare chest slowly going all the way down for a second, before leaving his embrace and heading for the door. "First to the stables get's Amber."
"Oh don't be such a child Mia. You're not going to get on her back." "Really, hehehe. Watch me win old man." She was already out of the room almost instantly.
"Old man? Hah, father wouldn't even like being called that. Now why would I run when am in my own territory." A smirk propped up his face as on his finger, a ring aside the one which proved his wedlock could be seen. Soon he held a scroll in his hands and pouring in his sliver auraed spiritual energy into it. Vans threw it on the ground just half a meter away as a portal opened up. Taking a step forward, he disappeared right into it. The portal closing up thereafter with the scroll disappearing also.
The mansion was one with a flat roof, running all over the top and forming a square, if one were to look at it from a bird's eye view. The roof area was particularly clean and maintained each day, having a guard rail which one could stand by and have an overview of the territory of the Elmore Family's Mansion. Situated at each corner of the roof, a brazier could be seen. With no guards being around since those were their orders, though they were supposed to.
At the southern part of the roof area, where the South Wing divided into a left and right one as the main path of to the mansion did that division. A large bed could be seen having two people on it, one laying on the bed with the other sitting at the edge near the guard rail. He was busy smoking a pipe while stargazing, his brown hair nicely groomed despite the activity he'd just engaged in. Wearing a night robe, one gold in colour with a glass of wine in his hand. A faint sound of galloping horses could be heard as his ears were very sharp, after all he was a spiritualist.
Alerted by this, he placed the glass on a table beside him and stood up. Walking to the edge just behind the guard rail, his chest revealed more than covered. He scrutinized the area in order to see where the noise was coming from, as it got louder by the second. For in a matter of time, the guards patrolling around having heard it too, now began to move. Yet with his gaze fixed on the forest which led in and out of the territory, he still couldn't pinpoint the exact place the sound was coming from. However, although he couldn't see any dust rising up into the sky. Where and who he least expected, poped up from the left and right sides of the mansion. Riding on white stallion to the right was none other than Vans Elmore, his older brother. The left, though moving faster than the other, another white horse dashed through the wind— a courser.
"Vans and his bloody Witch huh?" Kaleb scorned, annoyance all over his face.
As the two approached the gates, the guards had already opened it up, with some about giving an escort already mounted. Mia speeding straight past them like lighting, she yelled with joy enjoying the thrill her husband usually had all to himself. "Slow down Mia!" Vans went through the gate after her and with that four guards were following suit.
"Don't dare follow them!!!" The voice of Kaleb resounded through the wind and in an instant all four had brought their horses to a halt. As it would have been death to not adhere to the orders of a knight like themselves, who was also of a high rank.
Smirking at himself for his successful stunt, a hand slowly began to slide from his back, then to his shoulder before gently rubbing down his chest. "You're so smart, mmmm and tasty." She licked and nibbled on his ear, taking him his scent.
About disappearing into the forestland, Vans turned to look back, his eyes right on the roof where he could see the figure of his brother under the moonlight. Knowing that he had his eyes also glued on him, a smile propped up his face aware of how the other would take it.
"Dang it, he's smiling again! I fell for his tricks once again." Kaleb groaned, vexed by failing to get back at his brother, another time when he thought he had. "You always do fall for it."
"Ugh, are you really sane or you think I can't get angry at you." He tilted his head in her direction without turning. "Mmmm, you know I like it more when you vent your anger in me."
"You're impossible Thelma, pray the day I snap your neck instead of another's." He turned to grab a hold of her hands, locking and raising her hands in the air before leaning in to devour her bit by bit. "I… wi– will… ah, Kaleb!"
