Chapter 37: Nima Finds out the secret Demands to go with me.
----
Kent stood in the dimly lit yard, the quiet of the night broken only by the occasional chirp of crickets.
Ding!
Skill learned: Flashing Step.
As the system completed the transfer, Kent felt an intense heat shoot through his legs, like a surge of adrenaline supercharged with electricity. ⚡
He stumbled slightly, steadying himself against a nearby fence.
"Whoa," he whispered, looking down at his legs, which now glowed faintly with spiritual energy.
"This is insane. Let's see what you've got, Flashing Step."
The cool air brushed against his face as he stretched his legs, preparing to test his new skill.
Nima was fast asleep inside, and Kent had no intention of waking her. This was his time to experiment without any interruptions.
Planting his feet firmly in the dirt, Kent inhaled deeply and activated the skill.
Boom!
The sudden burst of speed caught him off guard, sending him hurtling forward like a rocket.
He didn't stop until he crashed face-first into a stack of wooden crates near the corner of the yard.
CRASH!
💥
"Ugh..." Kent groaned, sitting up amidst the splintered wood. "Okay, note to self: learn how to stop before using this in public."
From inside the house, a muffled voice called out, "Kent?!"
The door creaked open, and Nima stumbled out, her hair a mess and her eyes half-closed.
"What are you doing?!" she yelled, glaring at him. "Are you fighting a monster or something? I was having the best dream ever!"
Kent held up his hands defensively, his face smeared with dirt. "Relax, Nima. I'm just practicing a new technique. Go back to sleep."
Nima squinted at him, then at the scattered debris in the yard. "Practicing? It looks like you're destroying the yard. You better fix this before morning!"
+199 SP copied from Nima (Frustration).
"Alright, alright. Go back to bed. I'll clean it up later."
"Later?" she huffed. "Fine. But if you wake me up again, you're cooking breakfast for a week!"
She stomped back inside, slamming the door behind her. She took the bag with her. The same bag where the map is.
"She saw the bag outside on the ground near the gate. She thought Kent mistakenly put it there. Kent didn't know she took the bag."
Meanwhile, Kent dusted himself off and returned to the center of the yard.
"Okay, let's try this again. But this time... don't end up in a pile of broken crates."
He focused, channeling his spiritual energy into his legs. The warmth returned, but this time, he controlled it, feeling the power flow evenly through his body.
"Flashing Step!"
Whoosh!
Kent dashed forward, leaving a faint trail of dust in his wake. He skidded to a halt just before the fence, grinning triumphantly.
"Ha! Nailed it!"
Feeling more confident, Kent decided to up the challenge. He grabbed a few barrels, crates, and even an old chair, setting them up as obstacles around the yard.
"Alright, time to test my agility," he said, clapping his hands.
With a deep breath, he activated Flashing Step again.
Whoosh!
He zipped between the obstacles, weaving left and right. The chair wobbled, and one of the barrels nearly tipped over, but Kent managed to complete the course without knocking anything down.
"Not bad," he muttered, wiping sweat from his forehead.
For his final challenge, Kent placed a single brick in the middle of the yard. His goal was to use Flashing Step to dash to the brick and stop precisely on top of it without crushing it.
"This is it," he said, narrowing his eyes.
He activated the skill, dashing forward with precision.
Whoosh!
As he approached the brick, Kent shifted his weight, slowing down just enough to land lightly on top of it. He balanced there for a moment, arms spread wide for stability, before stepping off.
"Perfect!" he said, pumping his fist.
As Kent surveyed the yard, he couldn't help but notice the mess he had made.
Dust coated everything, several crates were splintered, and the once-sturdy fence now is learned at an odd angle.
"Yeah... I'll clean that up tomorrow," he said, time to go to the ruin location. With this new technique I am more confident now.
Just as he was about to look for the bag, the door creaked open again.
Nima stood there, her arms crossed and an annoyed look on her face. She was holding something.
She demands."Kent what is this map!" 🗺️ Pointing the map at Kent's. You are planning on going there aren't you?
What will happen if you die there? I will go with you. You can't go there alone.
Kent said. What… you can't go there. It's a dangerous place.
+777 SP copied from Nima. (Frustration)
Then you are not going too. I am stronger than you. I just level up my cultivation.
I am now LEVEL-E (middle). I also have the ugly Bear at Level-E (lower).
You can see that the ugly bear is the same rank as yours. I am stronger than you. She said to Kent, Showing her muscle .💪
"Kent thinks, sooner or later she needs to fight. She is right, she is stronger now. She can handle everything. Let's take her. It will be extra help for me."
Alright you can come. But you have to listen to my every word. You can't wander off alone.
+999 SP copied from Nima. (joy)
She jumps. You are best big brother Kent.
I am really becoming a big brother who will be protected by his little sister. "Perfect," he said.
I have to level up my cultivation faster.
System. How much SP do I have?
Ding!
Spiritual point: 359,456 SP
I can now buy three spiritual fruits. Should I use I level up to Level-E (middle)? I only need 150 thousand SP more to get to LEVEL-D.
Let's wait a little bit. I guess.. In few days, I will be able to earn 150k SP.
He glanced at Nima, who is busy packing a small bag with snacks and supplies while singing.
'I am going out to defeat the monster with my big brother. I am so happy.'
