Chapter 39: Nima Masters the Spiritual Clock

Chapter 39: Nima Masters the Spiritual Clock

----

The old man yelled, dragging Kent, tossing Kent a wooden sword. "A strong cultivator doesn't make excuses. Now, to the yard!"

The small yard behind their house was quiet, except for the occasional chirping of birds. Kent stood with the wooden sword in hand, his face etched with despair.

"Start with the basics!" Xian Yu ordered, demonstrating a series of swift, precise movements. "And don't even think about slacking off. I'm watching you."

Kent sighed but followed along, his movements slow and clumsy at first.

After an hour of drills, Xian Yu clapped his hands. "Alright, time for some sparring!"

"Sparring? With you?" Kent's eyes widened.

"Of course!" the old man replied, grinning. "Who else can show you how it's done?"

The sparring session was brutal. Xian Yu's strikes were quick and relentless, forcing Kent to rely on his reflexes and his new technique, Flashing steps to keep up with the old man.

Old man Xian Yu. Kid not bad, not bad. Your movement is different today.

"Kent didn't fully use the flashing steps. He only used the technique without any spiritual energy. Just to avoid and keep up with the old man."

By the end of the session, Kent was lying flat on the ground, gasping for air.

"You've got potential, kid," Xian Yu said, his voice softening. "But potential means nothing without hard work. Remember that."

Later that day in school...

The special class began with the usual routine. Miss Elena was lecturing about the dangers of pocket dimensions when Kent decided it was time to stir things up.

"Miss Elena," Kent interrupted, raising his hand. "I have a question."

She sighed. "What is it this time, Kent?"

"If someone gets stuck in a pocket dimension, does that mean they'll miss school forever? I am Asking for a friend."

The entire class burst into laughter, except for Ryan, who groaned loudly.

"Do you ever take anything seriously?" Ryan muttered.

Ding!

+675 SP Copied from Ryan (Frustration).

Ding!

+56,78,39,98.….. SP Copied from Classmates (Amusement).

"Alright, settle down," Elena said, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Kent, if you're not going to take this seriously, at least don't distract the others."

"Of course, Miss Elena," Kent replied with a mock salute, earning another round of chuckles from the class.

I am very close to earning 500k SP. I need one or two days for that. Then I can level up my cultivation. 'Kent murmurs to himself.'

After school, Kent rushed back home, eager to continue teaching the spiritual clock to Nima. The old man Xian Yu had been tutoring her during the day, and the old man also teaches Nima sword techniques.

Nima always skips training and slacks off. But she can learn everything very easily. As if the heavens had blessed her.

"Alright, Nima," Kent said, stepping into the backyard. "Today, you're going to master the Spiritual Clock."

💢 Nima stood with her arms crossed, her expression determined. "I've been reading all day. Now you want me to practice?"

Kent said. If you learn the technique I will feed you a nice meal in your favourite restaurant.

Nima jumps. Deal! I want to go to XXX hotpot restaurant. Kent, hurry up. What are you waiting for? Watch me master it.

"You've got this," Kent said, patting her on the head. "Just focus your energy like I showed you."

Nima nodded, closing her eyes. A faint glow began to surround her as she concentrated. Her spiritual energy rippled through the air, forming a faint, transparent shield in front of her.

The shield was small and wobbly, but it was there.

"You did it!" Kent exclaimed, grinning.

"I'm not done yet," Nima said, her brow furrowing in concentration. The shield stabilized, its ticking sound becoming clear and steady.

Ding!

Nima has successfully mastered the Spiritual Clock.

The shield grew larger, its intricate clock design spinning steadily.

"Whoa," Kent muttered, his eyes wide. "You're a natural, Nima."

Nima opened her eyes, her face lighting up with excitement. "I did it! I really did it!"

Kent gave her a thumbs-up. "See? I told you you could do it."

"Now, let's see how strong it is," Kent said, picking up a rock.

"Wait, you're going to throw that at me?!" Nima yelped, stepping back.

"Relax," Kent said, smirking. "The clock will block it. Trust me."

He hurled the rock at the shield. It hit the surface with a dull thud before shattering into tiny pieces.

"See?" Kent said, grinning. "I told you it'd work."

Nima laughed, her excitement growing. "This is amazing! What else can it do?"

"It can also block spiritual senses," Kent explained. "If someone tries to track you or sense your energy, the clock will hide you."

"Really?!" Nima's eyes sparkled. "That's so cool!"

As the sun set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, Kent and Nima sat on the rooftop of their house, watching the world grow quieter.

"Thanks for teaching me, Kent," Nima said softly, leaning against him. "You're the best big brother ever."

Kent chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Don't get used to it. I'm only nice to you because you're the only sibling I've got."

"Yeah, right," Nima said, smirking. "What about the hotpot restaurant treat?"

'Kent rolled his eyes yes yes. . I will take you tomorrow.' Today let's eat fried rice with egg and tomato.

Kent thinking. I have to buy the house first from the landlord. Then I will take Nima to a big and fancy restaurant for a meal. I also need to buy some new clothes for her.

Let's give her a big surprise. Before that I need to become a Level D cultivator. She is already a stronger and higher Level Cultivator than me.

Nima yelled. Kent what are doing? Didn't you say you will cook? Let's go inside the home. I am hungry.

Yeah.. Yeah, I am coming. This girl loses her temper when it comes to food. I better go fast otherwise she will start nagging like a Karen.

"After dinner they go to bed. Everything is peaceful as ever. But little did Kent know his life is going to take a huge turn soon. The first step will start in the morning."
