[Chapter: 99 Escaping The City]
Jill and Terry followed the voice, and it was Alice.
Alice looked at Angela, her eyes changed. "You."
Bam!
A man flew out and hit the ground. "I almost let myself get killed. That was so dangerous."
"William!" Terry looked at William with a pale face in surprise and ran toward him. She hugged William excitedly. "You're all right, you're all right! It's really good."
"This guy always knows how to play dead." Jill smiled.
Alice smiled too. "It seems that everyone is happy."
"You are Angela. It seems that the two of us are similar." Alice laughed. From Angela's presence, she sensed a similar feeling.
"You two know each other?" Jill asked.
"She is infected," Alice said lightly. "And she's deeply infected."
Jill looked at Angela, noticing she hadn't been bitten anywhere, and a hint of doubt crossed her face. "How do you know?"
"Because she is also infected," Angela said.
"What? You're infected? When were you going to tell us?" Jill looked at Alice with dissatisfaction.
Alice sat down and said to Angela, "Let me see."
"No." Angela shook her head.
Alice smiled gently. "You know I won't hurt you. Let me see."
Angela slowly extended her arms. Alice pushed up Angela's sleeves, revealing round pin marks on her arm.
Alice took out a tin box from Angela's backpack, opened it, and revealed an iron needle tube and some glass vials filled with green liquid.
"This is antiviral serum—the antidote for the T-virus," Alice whispered.
Jill said in surprise, "There's an antidote for that? That's incredible."
"The antiviral serum is only effective for a limited time. It's useless for people who have been infected for too long but haven't turned into zombies," William explained as he walked over.
Alice asked, "Where did you get this?"
"My dad made it for me. He's sick. One day, I will get sick too. He just wanted to stop that. When I was young, I had to walk on crutches. They said my condition wouldn't get better, only worse. Dad found a way to make me stronger." Angela seemed lost in her memories.
"This method was the T-virus," William said with a wry smile.
Angela nodded. "Yes. Later, someone came and stole my dad's invention."
"Umbrella Corporation, is that right?" Jill said.
Angela said sadly, "My dad isn't a bad guy. He didn't expect this to happen."
"I don't blame you. It's the Umbrella Corporation's fault," Terry comforted her.
Thump!
Alice glanced in the direction of the sound and pointed at the man with a gun—an armed man.
"Don't shoot! Don't shoot! He's one of us!" LJ ran over, speaking quickly. "He, like us, made a deal with that doctor and came to rescue his daughter."
"My name is Carlos. It seems we're associates now," said the armed man, Carlos.
"You're also STARS, and one of you came just now," Jill said lightly.
"Was it Nicholas? Where are the others?" Carlos asked.
"Dead. Eaten by a dog," William said, spreading his hands.
Carlos shook his head. "Nicholas..." He coughed violently.
"You've been bitten. I have to say, some people just aren't lucky," William said, looking at Carlos.
LJ immediately moved to the side. "You got bitten? Why didn't you say so earlier? I was standing so close to you!"
"What do you mean?" Carlos asked.
Alice smiled. "Today is your lucky day. It's that simple."
"Let's get out of here," William said, walking toward the door.

Next to a phone by the school, Alice answered the call. "We've found your daughter."
"I know. Let me speak to my daughter."
"No. First, tell us how we can get out."
"There's a helicopter ready to take off in 47 minutes. That will be the last flight leaving Raccoon City before the explosion."
"I'm guessing this plane isn't for us," Alice said skeptically.
"No, it's for another purpose, but the guards won't be strict."
"Where is the plane parked?" Alice asked.
"Can I speak to my daughter now?"
Alice knew Dr. Ashford wouldn't say more, so she passed the phone to Angela.
After Angela spoke to Ashford for a while, she called Alice over.
"The helicopter is parked at City Hall. I suggest you leave immediately."

In the car, William and Jill were crammed into one seat due to the lack of space. For William, this was a happy moment.
"I told you not to shake!" Jill said coldly. Even though they were squeezed together, William's legs kept bouncing like motors.
William said innocently, "I've had ADHD since I was a kid. Please forgive me."
"Believe it or not, I'll chop your legs off."
"I don't believe it because, in my heart, Jill is so kind. She's definitely not a cruel person." William shook his head, grinning as he continued to shake slightly.
