[Chapter: 139 The Disobedient Woman]
Alice approached the helicopter cautiously, her sharp gaze scanning its exterior. The aircraft was in surprisingly good condition—too good. Someone had been using it recently. A frown crossed her face as she reached out, touching the metal surface. It was still warm from a recent cm operation.
"Alice, it's been such a long time. I've really missed you."
The moment she heard that voice, Alice's body tensed. Her fingers instinctively tightened around her weapon, her breath hitching for the briefest of moments. Then, as if suppressing a surge of emotion, she gritted her teeth and turned sharply.
"William." She spat his name like venom.
"You're trembling with excitement, aren't you? I knew our reunion would be emotional, but I didn't expect you to be this touched." William's voice was laced with amusement, his smirk deepening as he observed her reaction.
Alice moved fast. In the blink of an eye, she spun around, raising her firearm and pointing it directly at his head. "William, you actually have the audacity to show your face in front of me." Her voice was like ice, steady but filled with burning rage.
"Is that any way to speak to your husband?" William's grin widened, the mocking glint in his eyes daring her to pull the trigger.
Alice's breath hitched, but it wasn't hesitation—her expression darkened with fury and shame. "Damn you," she growled. "I should kill you where you stand. After what you did to me—"
William tilted his head, his expression turning playfully inquisitive. "Oh? And what exactly did I do to you?"
Alice clenched her fists. "Don't play dumb!" she snapped. "You know exactly what I'm talking about!"
William's smirk only grew. "I really don't. But if you could remind me, I'd love to hear all the details." His tone was drenched in teasing malice.
Alice's face contorted with rage. "You bastard! You dare deny it?"
"What am I denying?" William spread his hands, feigning innocence.
"You—!" Alice cut herself off, her fury trembling at the surface. "You disgust me, William! I should have killed you back in that underground base. You know it in your heart, William, I will definitely kill you today."
William's expression turned serious for a fleeting second. "Oh? But you didn't. Why was that?"
Alice's eyes flickered with something unreadable. "Hmph. That's because I thought you were already dead. And I didn't want to dirty my hands with your filth."
William's gaze bore into hers, sharp and unyielding. "Liar."
Alice's jaw tightened. "No."
William stepped forward. "Yes."
Alice took a step back. "I said no!"
William suddenly burst into laughter.
Alice's fury reignited. "What the hell are you laughing at?!"
"You, Alice." William wiped a nonexistent tear from the corner of his eye, his smile downright wicked. "I didn't expect you to have such a cute side."
Alice's eyes turned dangerously sharp. "That's it. I'm done talking." Her pupils shrank, shifting into a triangular pattern. A surge of raw telekinetic energy exploded outward, sending shockwaves through the air as she unleashed her full power.
William's own gaze sharpened as an unseen force clashed against hers. The sheer power of Alice's attack could have torn an ordinary man apart, but William stood his ground, an invisible barrier surrounding him.
"If the original timeline had played out as intended, your powers would've been erased by Wesker," William remarked, his voice eerily calm. "Yet here you are, stronger than ever. It seems our 'first time' was quite beneficial for you."
Alice's expression twisted in fury. "Shut up!" she screamed. The very air around them trembled as rocks, debris, and even the nearby aircraft lifted off the ground, caught in the storm of her rage. The small red plane wobbled violently, its structure groaning under the force.
William remained unshaken. "You don't get it, do you?" he mused. "This power is really strong, but it's not just you. Our wonderful first time, do you know how much my T-cells power has increased? That night changed more than just you. My T-virus cells evolved. They doubled in strength. I nearly lost control of my own body because of it. It took me half a year just to stabilize it."
"I don't care about any of that!" Alice shot back. "The only thing I care about is seeing you torn apart!"
William sighed, as if disappointed. "It seems that you really hate me, it's really embarrassing for me."
"You don't have to be embarrassed if you die
Alice's glare could have melted steel.
Boom, boom…
Alice's power surged again. The ground cracked beneath her feet, sending shockwaves in all directions. The planes and debris hovering in the air suddenly imploded, shattering into pieces. The very ground beneath them trembled as if on the verge of breaking apart.
William, however, remained unimpressed. "Alice," he said, his voice low and commanding. "Calm down."
"I won't, I can't calm down, and I don't need to calm down." Alice snapped. "And I don't need to. Either you kill me right now, or I'll fight you to the bitter end!"
William smirked. "When a woman refuses to listen, the usual solution is to throw her onto a bed and 'discipline' her until she surrenders."
Alice's face turned scarlet—not out of embarrassment, but sheer, unfiltered rage. "You—you're despicable! "Damn, only a shameless guy like you can say such a thing."
"I don't just talk, Alice. I take action." William's eyes gleamed. "I'm going to really practice it, Alice, you disobedient woman, ha..." William shouted.
With a flicker of movement, Alice's overwhelming telekinetic pressure shattered. The force she had been channeling was dispersed as if it had never existed.
Alice staggered backward, clutching her head in disbelief. "No... how...?"
William advanced on her, his steps deliberate. "No matter how strong you become, the gap between us is insurmountable. You can only be conquered by me."
"You're insane!" Alice shook her head, "What a joke, you will never succeed."
Before she could strike again, voices called out from a distance.
"William!"
Both turned to see Claire and White Queen approaching, their expressions filled with shock as they took in the destruction around them. The cracked ground, the floating debris, the shattered remains of the plane—it was a battlefield.
White Queen's gaze landed on Alice, and her red eyes widened slightly. "Alice," she murmured. "So, you're here too."
Alice's focus shifted. "White Queen?" She blinked in surprise. "What are you doing here? Weren't you bound to the base?"
White Queen clasped her hands behind her back. "I have a physical body now."
Alice stared at her, momentarily stunned. "A physical body?"
Claire, still looking slightly disoriented, turned to William. "Who is she?"
William placed a hand on Claire's shoulder, his voice patient. "She's Alice, our former teammate. We once fought side by side. She's just... a little confused right now."
Alice narrowed her eyes. "Claire, you don't recognize me?"
Claire hesitated before shaking her head. "I... I don't remember."
"She lost her memory," William said, his smirk returning. "Try not to hold it against her."
"Amnesia?"
Claire said, "Since we are partners who once fought side by side, we should live in peace. No matter what misunderstanding you have about William, it's over. Please don't attack William again."
Alice glared at him. "You did something to her, didn't you?"
"Yes, I told her what I experienced with her." William replied smoothly.
"Damn it, you are lying to her." Alice shouted.
"Claire, White Queen," he continued, "Alice and I need to have a private conversation. There's a lot we need to clear up. otherwise the misunderstanding cannot be resolved. I will be back soon. You stay here for a while and don't go anywhere." William appeared next to Alice in a flash.
Before anyone could react, he moved with inhuman speed.
Alice barely had time to react before his hand seized her wrist. "Wait—!"
Alice immediately wanted to attack William, but William grabbed her hand.
The next second, they vanished from sight.
Claire's eyes widened. "They disappeared?"
White Queen replied. "This is called 'teleportation'
Claire exhaled slowly, then turned to White Queen. "Teleportation? It's incredible. White Queen tell me everything you know about William."
White Queen's eyes darted away. If she told the truth, she'd be in trouble. But if she lied... well, that was another problem entirely.
She decided to lie if she could. Otherwise, if William knew that she had told the truth, he would punish her. ..
She sighed internally.
Lying it was.
