{Chapter: 152 The Plane Has Oil}
Bang!
The massive mutant zombie raised its enormous iron axe and smashed it against the iron gate, sending a resounding crash echoing throughout the area. The sheer force of the impact made the metal groan under the strain, causing dust and rust particles to scatter into the air. The sound alone was enough to make some of the more timid survivors recoil in fear.
Luther's eyes widened as he took a step back. "Fuck! What the hell is that thing?" he shouted, his voice laced with shock and disbelief.
"We don't have much time," Chris said firmly, leading the group toward a garage at the far end of the compound. "Inside this garage, there's an armored riot-control vehicle. If we can get it started, we can drive straight through the horde and escape."
Bang! Bang!
The iron gate rattled violently as the mutant zombie continued its relentless assault. It was only a matter of time before it broke through.
"But the garage door is locked up tight. How the hell are we supposed to get inside?" Otis asked, scanning the heavy metal shutter with concern.
Chris turned his head and smirked at William. "Let this guy handle it. He kicked down an iron cage door like it was made of paper. This shouldn't be a problem for him."
William crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like your personal handyman? Not interested."
Otis sighed. "Maybe we can cut through it with tools?"
Chris scoffed. "Sure, go ahead and take your time. Meanwhile, that big bastard outside will turn us all into minced meat before you're halfway done."
William rolled his eyes, exhaling in mild amusement before stepping forward. "Fine, fine, let the genius do all the work."
"Then I hope you can do it slowly until this big guy comes in." William smiled and walked forward.
Claire exchanged glances with Alice and the others before stepping up and following William closely.
"Where are you going?" Alice asked, her voice cold and suspicious.
Claire turned back and smiled. "Taking a break. Come on, babe, I'm cheering for you."
"This guy..." Luther clenched his fists, his frustration growing.
"How is he not even remotely nervous? It's like he doesn't care at all," Otis grumbled. "Does he think we're just entertainment?"
Alice's lips curled into a cold smirk. "That's exactly what he thinks. These zombies mean nothing to him. He's just standing back, watching us struggle for his own amusement. He just wants to stand on a high place and enjoy our embarrassing ugliness." "
Chris frowned. "Who is he, really?"
Alice let out a humorless chuckle. "A very dangerous and powerful man. But calling him just 'dangerous' is an understatement. You're still breathing, so you should consider yourself lucky. Though, honestly, it's also unfortunate… because that means he can kill you whenever he wants."
Chris narrowed his eyes. "He's really that bad?"
Jin, the Korean man, visibly paled. "Shit… what kind of person are we dealing with?"
Alice tilted her head slightly, her smirk deepening. "You'll see soon enough."
Luther hesitated before asking, "Then why are you with him?"
For a brief moment, Alice's eyes flickered with shame, rage, and something else unreadable. "Because I want to kill him."
Otis snorted. "Yeah, sure. You wanna kill him, but the way you look at him tells a different story. There's way more to it than you're letting on."
Alice shot him a sharp glare. "You're wrong."
Otis raised an eyebrow, but wisely chose not to push further.
Meanwhile, William and Claire had already made their way up to the rooftop, where they were joined by White Queen, the enigmatic little L*lit@, .
"William, why are we going up to the rooftop?" Claire asked, puzzled.
William smirked mischievously. "To do the same thing as last night."
Claire's face instantly flushed red, and she pinched his waist. "You pervert! Doing that kind of thing in broad daylight, out in the open—are you insane?"
William chuckled. "Relax, I was just joking. But, honestly, it would be quite an experience."
White Queen tilted her head, watching their interaction with a blank expression. "Is sex really that fascinating? Humans seem to be obsessed with it. I don't understand the appeal."
"You don't need to know about things like that, little girl," Claire said, waving her off.
William grinned wickedly. "No worries, White Queen. I'll be happy to educate you about life's pleasures when the time comes."
White Queen instinctively stepped back. "I think I'd rather not."
Claire scowled. "Stop corrupting children!"
William chuckled. "Don't worry. I have plenty of experience with kids. Right, White Queen?"
White Queen gulped, hesitating before reluctantly nodding. "N-No… Yes… Yes!" She quickly changed her answer under William's intense gaze. This perverted d@ddy is really too evil.
Reaching the rooftop, William walked straight toward the helicopter.
"Why are you heading to the helicopter? I thought it was out of fuel," Claire asked, puzzled.
White Queen rolled her eyes. "That's a lie. There's still enough fuel left to fly at least 100 kilometers."
Claire's mouth fell open. "William! You lied to everyone?"
William placed a hand on her shoulder and looked into her eyes. "Claire, I only did it to protect you. The lives of those people mean nothing to me. The only one that matters is you. Will you blame me for that?"
Claire hesitated for a moment before shaking her head. "No… I trust you."
Claire shook her head, "I don't blame you."
"Good. Then get in."
"Just the three of us? Don't you take others with you?" Claire said in astonishment.
"Of course, we have to believe in their ability, Claire. The world has changed. We don't need weaklings. Weaklings can't survive. We can't save them the second time after saving them the first time." William said calmly.
"I know." Claire nodded and got on the helicopter.
Claire climbed into the helicopter, followed by White Queen. William started the engine, and the helicopter slowly began to ascend into the sky.
Down below, Luther pointed upward. "Look! The helicopter is taking off!"
"Son of a bitch!" Otis cursed. "I knew that asshole was lying!"
"Damn, didn't the helicopter run out of gas?" Otis said angrily.
Alice smirked. "You really believed him? He's not the kind of man who saves people out of kindness."
Jin stared up at the helicopter in shock. "He's just leaving us here? Why wouldn't he take us with him?"
Alice folded her arms. "Because he doesn't care. "He won't save people. Don't count on him. Be grateful he didn't just kill you all instead."
"Goddamn it!" Luther slammed his fist against the wall in frustration.
Chris clenched his jaw. "He took my sister."
Alice shrugged. "Relax. He won't hurt her."
Chris turned to her, his expression dark. "Are you sure about that?"
Alice nodded confidently. "Very sure."
"Wait, look! The helicopter is coming back!" Jin shouted excitedly. "He's coming to pick us up!"
Luther shook his head. "Don't be stupid. He's not here to save us. Jin, you think too much. That guy is not that kind of good person."
Sure enough, the helicopter stopped about thirty meters in the air, hovering just out of reach.
"Are you here to save us? Take us to fly together." The Korean Jin Yong kept waving his hands.
William leaned out of the cockpit and grinned. "Hey, guys! I'm here to support you! Keep working hard, and I'll be cheering you on from up here. Do your best!"
"Fuck you! Go to hell!" Luther roared, grabbing a machine gun and firing wildly at the helicopter.
"You really don't know how to appreciate a good person, and you even cursed." William sighed, shaking his head. "So ungrateful. And after all my encouragement too." William looked disappointed.
The bullets, however, stopped midair, hitting an invisible barrier three meters away from the helicopter.
"Don't bother. It's useless. don't waste bullets." Alice shook her head.
Chris narrowed his eyes. "Superpowers? I didn't think I'd see something like this in real life."
Alice's expression turned cold. "Focus. Stick to our plan. Don't let him interfere."
Bang!
The iron gate finally collapsed, and the mutant zombie let out an earth-shaking roar as it charged in, leading an army of undead straight toward them.
