The Alpha King always knew she would be a valuable asset, but now she solves a problem while freeing him from all the dirty work he's had her do over the years. Lily won't last a week at the Dragon Clans Palace as they tend to stick to their own kind, being purest of their Clan. She has no connection to that Clan having her followed when she went on her world tour. She went through a village then came out a month later after crossing the peaks on her own. For all she's worth he did wish his own daughter was more like her with a steady head and a mind of a queen. He'd have no problem choosing or presenting potential mates, but her mother coddled her to much and spoiled any real hope for a strong powerful mate.
Sitting back in his chair starring out at the half moon as the light shines sort of rejuvenating his being. As plans to have her sent off to the Dragon Clan are setup for tonight he leaves his office in search of his oldest son. His office wasn't far from as the King rounds a corner he could tell Max wasn't alone. Lily was with him and they seem to be in very deep talks together while they shared a meal. Knocking on the door then walking in Max inclines his head while Lily remains seated next to him a bit anxious. "Son, I was just looking for you. I was hoping to go over a few things with the Alpha ceremony next week. Could we have a moment in private?" The King asked not wanting to set him off.
Lily got up saying, "I would like to go and check on my plants. I'll take Wade with me he's probably still in his office. Come find me when your done speaking with the King." He stared at her for a moment then nodded his head letting her thigh go as she walked past the king out the door. "Using her as an assistant? Or just getting her opinion on a clerical issue?" he asked keeping the mood light.
"She's helping me with some of my work. She's a very competent and capable person who does her work well. I've known that for years and she offered. You said you needed to go over some things about the ceremony? " Max asked getting straight tot he point, which annoyed him. Its as is he was trying to get away from his own father. "Yes, as it is a very important ceremony you and I still have things to discuss. I'm not sure if your aware, but the prophecy for the Alpha Pairs is soon to be upon us. You have yet to choose your mate and it would be best to choose form the pool of alpha bloodlines from the other Clans. Some are mixed, but a couple of them are werewolf DNA mix so..." the King began saying as he seen Max's face slowly change as he went on to explain about the candidates.
"As far as a mate goes when I am ready inform everyone of my chosen mate, but until then that will be my issue to handle once I have ascended to the throne. It is not required that i have a queen when i ascend, but it is favored. I know Father, but this isn't the time to discuss this. What other details do you have to talk about, I have some research to do and don't want to take up to much of your time," Max said sounding annoyed that his father was pushing to speak more with him. "Son, what's that matter? You seem tense. Have I done something to offend you or do we have something between us I don't know about? Please tell me," The King said sounding as sincere as he could.
He sighed saying, "Mother has already been pressuring me about a mate, and I just don't want to hear it from you as well. You two may have found each other just before grandfather handed you the throne, but I wish to make my own mark. When I have found my Luna Queen you guy will be the first to know, aside of her folks." "I see, well I am glad to hear your thoughts on this subject and not just shutting me out. My father had to help me with some of my choices and I just wanted you to know I offer the same help. Please know that," the Alpha King said sealing the deal in locking their trust together.
Max looked at him for a moment then said, "I do. I really do and thank you for letting me know. Now not to rush you off, but I do need to do some investigating. When I have more information I'll let you know what I'm looking into. Thanks for stopping by, father." He walked over hugging him then leaves his office. The King was baffled that he just up and left there essentially dismissing him. Irritated and anxious of whether enough time had passed for the elites to snatch up their "little ward" or not.
--------------------------------------
After leaving his office Max kept getting the sense his father was stalling him from something. He wasn't sure what, but he knew he needed to go find Lily and make sure she was alright. The family has used and abused her since the day she came here. Max couldn't believe how they just let the twins get away with anything Alisa more the Phil, but that's no excuse. He tried to have her work with him as much as possible, but when father called for her he couldn't tell her to follow him.
Even after finding out who she he knew the minute he let out his intentions towards her they would slander her name and turn the people against her. Max feared for her safety and the stability of the realm. He didn't want to risk her so he waited knowing how she felt when he ran off in beast form. He wanted nothing more then to run into her arms that night, but she would have had a harder fight to claim her independence and freedom from the family.
Walking down that hall to her wing of the Palace, which happen to be the must uninhabited, he felt an ominous presence. Quickening his pace he pulled open the door to her Lab and a few things were wrecked or turned over. One of the lights was sparking into the water so he unplugged the light sniffing the air for clues as to who had done this, but the strange thing was he could only make out Lily's scent and Wade's. It made no sense and he trusted Wade completely slowly moving to the back of the room where the door was half open he still couldn't pick up a scent. It had to be some kind of spell or talisman. Few Clans had them and even fewer new they really existed.
This is looking bad, Max. Our mate is nowhere in sight and our Beta is missing as well. I tried reaching for them, but all I got was a blank void, his wolf told him which already had Max concerned. Stepping out the backdoor Max could see tire tracks leading into the street, but from there they could have went any where. He still couldn't pick up on their scents which meant they were taken, by someones elite class warriors. Max was trying to keep calm as they hadn't hurt her or Wade because he would have felt it. Who the f*ck would take them?"
