Lily's head was killing her as she tried to open her eyes, but immediately closed them as the sun was shining through. Groaning as she rolled on to her side noticing a certain prince sleeping in the chair next to her bed. Memories catching up to her as Prince Dimitri looked peaceful as he slept the morning light shining on his chest. This guy has always seen her even when she didn't want him to. He has always been an honest, good friend with some "great" benefits on the side over the years.
Remembering that little sh*t still down in the dungeons she had some unfinished business to take care of, but at that moment her *ss twitches in pain as she hissed louder then she meant too. His deep blue eyes always swirled brightly when he'd see her, but this time they looked relieved. "How are you feeling? He did a lot of damage to your cheeks. Your favorite doctor took care of you. I didn't think you wanted the Royal Physician seeing as your last parting wasn't so cordial," Prince Dimitri spoke half jokingly knowing full well the disdain she had for the self centered, ignorant bigot who only treated those of the "noble class". The first time that old dragon tried treating her wounds he was lucky she didn't bite his hand off.
"Yeah I don't imagine he'd be to happy to treat me. How's Trinee doing these days? I healed up faster then usual," she said looking herself over. Lily's chest was wrapped from the Pirate's rough delivery. "F*cking Pirates dropped me off to him and they weren't ones I know of, but that's no surprise. Shady is as shady does."
"Trinee is doing better since she is now my personal physician, and she now has her own lab running it her way like she always wanted. Mother had a fit saying a commoner shouldn't get such special treatment, but when I pointed out all of Trinee's accomplishments she didn't have much to say afterwords," he said chuckling, "If she hadn't saved her precious baby boy's life she would have cast her out on the spot, no matter her genius."
Lily always knew Trinee would do well here especially because when they studied together she was a wealth of knowledge. If she needed to know about a book or any plant on the dragon mountain she could ask her. Trinee is a very somber person who only wants to find answers and solve problems. She also has a heart of gold, especially for those in need. She held a clinic on the weekends to help the poor who couldn't see a doctor or afford medicine. Lily was glad Prince Dimitri took her under his wing. She's small for a dragon, but has the mind of a wise old dragon.
"If she ever gets tired of it here she can always come to my lab back home. I know of a few rare types of plants she's been wanting to study sitting in my observatory. Maybe I'll mention them when she comes to check on me," Lily said being a bit mischievous. "Pouching my people now Princess? Maybe I shouldn't be so kind to you. Trinee is doing well here don't be a snitch," Dimitri said eyeing her suspiciously.
"By the way, I am curious how did this new change happen? Last I checked wolves don't shift like this or stay that way the whole time. Your lucky that brother of mine didn't take his whips to those. He's sick enough to try it," Dimitri said looking at her tails.
"Don't worry, she'll tell me if and when she wants to leave. Besides with my position about to change she may just take me up on my offer now. As for this change I am still finding out about it myself," Lily said as a knock came at the door and there walks in Trinee a tiny dragon with moon shaped glasses resting on her nose. She had curly short dark hair and rosy cheeks with bright green eyes. They always reminded her of moss deep in the forest.
"Hey Lily, what the actual F*ck were you thinking letting that little princeling beat your ass up like that?! I had to sit here healing you for almost two hours. You give that little dragon a good beating when this heals. Some of my finest work on this woman and not because of a battle either. How did he get his hands on you?" she asked with concern in her voice.
"Hey I was minding my own business back home when someone broke into my lab, knocked poor Wade out. Oh my goddess Wade! Where is he? Is he okay? Sh*t I'm not a very good Luna," Lily said feeling bad for not remembering Wade.
"He's fine just a couple of bruises which should heal by the end of the day if not sooner. He's in the room next door, he insisted. Now back to what you were saying, you were kidnapped? And your a Luna? who's?" Trinee asked far to excited for the answer.
Dimitri had a stoic look on his face making it hard to read his expression. "Its Max. Come to find out that wolf I told you about was my mate. He was protecting me until I could handle myself, by myself. Being locked in that castle of a house made it hard to understand people, but having traveled as I did gave me perspective. Dimitri what's wrong?" she asked as he got up all of a sudden. "I forgot about something I'll be back later." Watching as he exited Lily wonder what his problem was then looked to Trinee who had the same confused look on her face.
