"Joey, how do you think your Auntie would react if you struck me? Would she adore you more or despise you?" he inquired. "Remember, your feelings for her can never become reality. Leslie will never accept such affection."
His statement sapped my will to fight. I collapsed to the floor, beaten and silent.
But he wasn't finished. Right in front of me, he pulled out his mobile and dialed Auntie's number.
Before I could comprehend his intentions, he shouted into the phone with feigned terror, "Leslie! Joey's lost his mind! He didn't just attack me, he attempted to end my life!"
My auntie hadn't even responded when he abruptly ended the call. Then, with a sudden, forceful movement, he grabbed me and jumped into the pool, dragging me along.
The harsh, chemical odor of chlorine invaded my nostrils as he forced me underwater.
I couldn't swim, and I also suffered from claustrophobia. Panic overtook me.
My arms and legs thrashed wildly, and I felt like I was being engulfed by an endless vortex. My sight grew hazy, my senses dulled, and I sank deeper into terror.
Through the murk, I thought I glimpsed Auntie diving into the water, extending her hand towards me. For a brief moment, I believed rescue was imminent. However, her hand bypassed me and seized him instead.
