Auntie paused briefly. Upon seeing my imploring look, she eventually agreed. Then, she shut the door, leaving me outside.

The physician arrived shortly after to reassure me that I was okay, having only swallowed a small amount of water.

After bidding farewell to Harry, I set off to purchase groceries, intent on preparing a proper birthday meal for Auntie. I even began assembling the components for her birthday cake.

However, Auntie didn't return home that evening. Even as the clock indicated midnight, signaling the start of her birthday, she was still absent.

I tried to convince myself that something crucial must have delayed her. But in my heart, I knew better. Auntie had never prioritized anything over spending her birthday with me.

I remained awake until daybreak and made a bowl of long-life noodles for breakfast, yet she didn't appear.

I waited for her until midday and started baking a cake, but she still hadn't shown up.
