For the first time, I felt as if I was truly seeing Simon clearly.
Our shared past and all the confusion that came with it suddenly snapped into focus, and I realized how much I'd been overlooking.
"My wedding should reflect my wishes," I stated, my tone calm yet resolute. "Simon, I need you to understand this once and for all. I'm going to marry Daniel. Don't lose your composure over this."
"You're actually going to marry him?" Simon exclaimed, his voice laced with shock and fury.
I could sense his anger bubbling to the surface, and before I could react, he suddenly seized my arm, pulling me towards him.
However, before anything else could transpire, I found myself enveloped in a comforting embrace. Daniel carefully draped my coat around me, his actions deliberate and protective, and without hesitation, he landed a punch squarely on Simon's face.
