As consciousness returned to me in the medical ward, my eyes immediately fell upon Sebastian. He was slouched beside my bed, his head gently resting on my arm.
A nurse stepped into the room to examine my condition, greeting me with a kind grin.
"You've come to," she said softly, her gaze drifting towards Sebastian. "You should count yourself fortunate. I've rarely encountered such unwavering dedication in a person."
Her statement lingered in my thoughts as I observed him, peacefully asleep yet still maintaining his grip on me as if afraid I might vanish once more.
For the first time in ages, I experienced a genuine sense of security.
