"Darrell, I did carry your baby."

Those soft words struck Darrell like a dagger, repeatedly piercing his chest.

"When you brought her home that day, I was already expecting, one month along."

"Yet you made me terminate our unborn child."

Upon becoming the successor, my responsibilities multiplied. I was swamped with work daily, and when I finally came up for air, a month had elapsed.
