Elliot yanked the document back with a triumphant smile, his eyes shining as he gestured towards Kendra.

"Kendra, you were unaware, weren't you? I discreetly obtained a sample of your blood for testing. It appears you're already expecting my child."

"No matter how much you try to stay with Wyatt, you'll have no option but to become my bride."

"It's not real, Wyatt! You saw it for yourself that time—my vehicle was filled with contraceptives. There's no possibility I could be carrying his baby!"

She gulped, then motioned toward Elliot.

"He must have been involved with another woman and used someone else's results to set me up! It's not my child!"

I pushed her hand aside, my tolerance wearing thin.

"Does using protection make you innocent? Do you think you're blameless just because the pregnancy isn't yours?"
