CHAPTER 4: ANGER HER A BIT

Wei Jing led Han Ziyou to the classy traditionally Chinese themed private dining room.

It was elegant and had a suitably sized dining table at the center of the room where the cutlery was carefully set.

Wei Jing pulled out the chair and Han Ziyou almost scoffed at the act of gentlemanliness but she controlled herself.

'If I didn't know better, I'd think this man was a real gentleman.' Han Ziyou thought to herself.

The two assistants had refrained from entering the dining since this was more of an interaction between the bosses.

Qin Jun who was outside kept a calm and unapproachable presence as they stood outside the dining room.

Qin Jun's lips curled in disdain as he looked at the silent and almost well concealed anger and hatred in Wei Jing's assistant's eyes.

Qin Jun shook his head and spoke coldly.

"Don't worry miss. My boss isn't interested in your boss. He doesn't match her tastes so please don't try to do something stupid to my boss out of spite."

"I swear–you'll regret it if you do."

The woman glanced at Qin Jun with cold and disdainful eyes.

"My boss is too good for that company thief so I'm not worried about her." The assistant lady had a surprisingly sharp tongue.

Qin Jun raised a questioning brow and then he shook his head.

"Foolish indeed."

Qin Jun muttered and then ignored the lady like as if she was a lost cause. The lady in statement clenched her hands and seethed internally.

Though the assistant lady had said all she said confidently, she knew better that her boss was interested in Han Ziyou.

It made her angry seeing how he acted like a gentleman before her when he never acted like that to other women. Not even her.

.....back in the dining room.....

"If I may Miss Han, you're quite stunning." Wei Jing complimented as it was hard keeping one's gaze off Han Ziyou.

She was just that stunning.

Even her cold detached expression was heart stopping.

Han Ziyou smiled smoothly.

"Thank you Mr Wei. Same to you."

Wei Jing smiled and waved dismissively.

"No need to call me Mr Wei Miss Han. You can just call me Jing as my good friends do."

Han Ziyou smiled but she didn't say anything to that.

Just about then dinner was brought.

Indeed Heavenly Jade Restaurant was right to be called a four star Michelin restaurant. Even before one tasted the meal, the mere look and aroma could amaze a person.

Han Ziyou smiled as the course was presented by the chef.

"Please be my guest Miss Han." Wei Jing said.

Han Ziyou gave a light nod. There was never a reason to reject good food so she indulged in the man's treat hoping the time to discuss business would arrive sooner.

.....

However as the two dined, two people arrived at the restaurant, a man and woman both in their twenties.

At the sight of the two or rather the imposing man, the door man was startled.

Tall height, blonde hair and calm ice blue eyes. The man was in a suit and he reeked of money.

The young beauty beside him was also a sight to behold. A model for sure.

Ink black hair and hazel eyes.

She held onto the man's arm and kept on smiling at the man cutely.

"Xian, thank you for bringing me out to dinner." The lady said in soft voice while looking at the man called Xian in adoration.

This was none other than Ming Xian. The fifth generation heir and reigning chairman of Ming Corporation.

He was a young prodigy and Ming Corporation, the company he headed was among the top ten in the whole country and the Ming family he was from was not to be messed with either.

Many in the business world saw him as one of the imposing young CEOs globally.

His rich status attracted a lot of attention not only from the business world but also women for example the lady beside him.

The lady beside him though was no one simple either because she was none other than Zhou Lin, the daughter of Zhou Rutong and to top it off she was an A-list model who was currently a hot talk in the world of modeling.

"Mmmm anything for you Lin." Ming Xian said calmly as he and Zhou Lin were hurriedly welcomed by an array of attendants.

Even the manager was in the midst. How would he dare let just anyone welcome the infamous Ming Xian without him the manager personally showing up.

Zhou Lin smiled sweetly at the response Ming Xian gave her. She had really hit it lucky by meeting Ming Xian.

It had honestly been luck and fate for her to meet Ming Xian because otherwise she would have never gained the opportunity to get close to such an important man.

It had been after she replaced one of the models for an important project only for her to realize that the project she was going to model for was being funded by Ming Xian.

Of course there was no way she could pass by such a chance to get close to such a fat wallet so with a little pulling of strings here and there, she got to meet Ming Xian and with her endless "skills" Ming Xian kept her around.

Currently Zhou Lin was doing her best to make sure no one stole Ming Xian from her.

It was hard but doable.

Even her dad had allowed her to leverage on his political power to ensure no woman was a threat against such a promising candidate for marriage.

Zhou Lin was excited. Ming Xian was truly the perfect man.

The two kept on walking towards the VIP dining room with a trail of attendants following them.

The manager just followed behind like an obedient boot licking puppy because he knew that these type of people like Ming Xian were not to be played around with.

Anyway getting in a big shots good books was never a bad thing.

They were just making their way to the VIP room when there was an unexpected collision.

.....

Back with Han Ziyou and Wei Jing, they had just finished eating and Han Ziyou was planning on talking with Wei Jing about the upcoming project when she received an important call.

Seeing the caller, Han Ziyou frowned lightly before glancing at Wei Jing apologetically.

"Excuse me Mr Wei. I have to step out for a moment to answer this call. It is rather important that I do."

Wei Jing nodded.

"Of course Miss Han."

Han Ziyou nodded and stepped out.

Wei Jing watched her as she left and a tricky smirk rested on his lips.

....

Qin Jun was slightly taken back to see Han Ziyou come out. He wondered if his dear boss had already lost appetite in the meeting that fast.

He was about to follow her when she glanced at him.

"You can stay back. I'm going to the restroom. I'll be back."

Qin Jun nodded.

Han Ziyou turned around and started to head for the restroom. As she walked, she answered the phone call.

"Kai. Good evening." Han Ziyou spoke first.

"Good evening boss." A male voice resounded.

"Do you have something for me." Han Ziyou went straight to the point.

"Yes boss. We found some traces of them in Europe. We have no idea what they'd be doing there but as soon as we found traces, they were just as quickly destroyed."

"It's clear that they don't want you looking for them but at the same time they don't want you to worry hence them leaving some traces to reassure you of their wellness."

Kai gave his detailed information and theoretical conclusion.

Han Ziyou thought deeply about it and she bit her lip in frustration.

She didn't understand why. Why wouldn't they want her to find them. Were they in some kind of trouble. Were they hiding and didn't want to implicate her.

Han Ziyou's brows futtrowed deeply and she let out a sigh.

"It's OK. Just keep watch and try to keep me informed of any advancements."

Han Ziyou said.

"And yes—"

However just as Han Ziyou was about to give out another order, she crashed body first into a person.

She had been too distracted by the call and on slight tension that she didn't pay attention as she made a rounding at a corner.

She stumbled a bit but a strong arm hurriedly held her hand and managed to steady her.

Han Ziyou hurriedly apologized with a slight and sincere bow since she was in the wrong to walk without awareness of her surroundings.

She didn't even pay attention to the person she had knocked for a moment.

"I'm quite sorry. I was distracted by my phone—I"

However, Han Ziyou's words were cut short when her eyes met with a pair of cold venomous ones.

She had grown up looking at those same eyes torturing her so there was no way she couldn't recognize them.

She didn't even notice the man whom she had knocked. He glanced at her in slight awe but she was too distracted by the familiar presence to notice his curious gaze.

"Han Ziyou you wre—" but Zhou Lin paused and rephrased her words. She looked at Han Ziyou coldly and chastised.

"Can you watch where your going. You just hit Young Master Ming. Do you think you can afford to anger him with your carelessness."

Zhou Lin sounded like a righteous elder teaching Han Ziyou a lesson on being careless but only her and Han Ziyou knew how much Zhou Lin really wanted to say more slanderous words.

Zhou Lin glanced at Ming Xian and asked with worry. "Ming are you Ok."

However Ming Xian didn't respond to her immediately as he was still distracted by the otherworldly Han Ziyou standing before him.

Her calm and mature, cold but alluring presence amazed him.

Zhou Lin's facial expression dropped and her gaze chilled at the awed look on Ming Xian 's face.

Han Ziyou on the other hand, raised a brow at the selfcontrol Zhou Lin was portraying. Was she trying to act like she was mature.

Han Ziyou glanced at the man whom Zhou Lin had locked hands with.

Han Ziyou narrowed her eyes lightly and then it clicked in her memory whom this man was.

'That's right. This is Ming Xian, the CEO of Ming Corporation.'

Han Ziyou however remained calm despite the fact that Ming Corporation was definitely more powerful than Zhou Group of Companies.

Her expression became even more stoic but she didn't act arrogant since gaining enemies needlessly was worthless.

Instead she gave him a grateful look.

"Thank you for assisting me in not falling Mr Ming. I am grateful and terribly sorry for inconveniencing you and your uhmm—"

Han Ziyou first glanced at the intimate way Zhou Lin held Ming Xian 's arm and she understood all too well.

She knew how willing Zhou Lin was to do anything to gain power so she didn't have to think to understand the relationship.

"Have a nice date Mr Ming."

Han Ziyou said with a casual smile feeling amused.

She didn't know whether between Ming Xian or Zhou Lin whom was playing who but it was most likely the latter.

To use each other was truly the epitome of a relationship such as this.

How ridiculous.

"You're welcome."

Ming Xian's voice drew everyone out of the temporary thoughts they were all having.

A small smile tipped the corner of Ming Xian's lips up.

"May I ask whom you are Miss—"

Han Ziyou smiled as she felt Zhou Lin's piercing and scorching gaze.

'Should I anger her a bit.'

Han Ziyou wondered with a cunning smile. The joy of possibly angering Zhou Lin was truly nice.

She wasn't a saint and since the day she got on her own two feet, she swore to herself not let such flies look down on her.

Han Ziyou's smile broadened with sweet genuineness and Ming Xian was struck still by the smile.

Han Ziyou threw Zhou Lin a side glance before sending her hand out to Ming Xian smoothly.

"Mr Ming. I'm Han Ziyou, the CEO of Zhou Group of Companies. It's an honor."

Zhou Lin's face twisted from the different shades of purple and green that flared across her cheeks.

Ming Xian didn't hesitate to take her hand.

"The pleasures all mine Miss Han."

Zhou Lin gritted her teeth but she managed to control herself since she didn't want to ruin the lady like impression of herself that she had given Ming Xian.

"Xian, should we go. I'm getting hungry." Zhou Lin spoke with a slight pout and adorable eyes.

Ming Xian glanced at her and internally frowned but he didn't say much. Though he could see through Zhou Lin's little ploy, he didn't mind since the naive woman was good enough in bed.

Once he got tired, he'd move on.

Han Ziyou smiled knowing Zhou Lin was desperate to take her man away from her.

Han Ziyou almost laughed.

She wasn't interested in men. She didn't have time for that stress.

"I think you should take Lin to eat. She has a big appetite and can become quite aggressive like a rabid dog went not fed." Han Ziyou said with a condensing gaze.

"You—" Zhou Lin was angered beyond words.

Ming Xian narrowed his gaze slightly amused.

"Mmmm. I'd like to one day get to talk a bit of business Miss Han. Here's my business card. You can reach out to me through it."

Everyone was stunned still.

Zhou Lin and the attendants were shocked by the sudden turn of events. How could this woman do nothing other than smile and say a few words which were obviously degrading Ming Xian's date and yet instead of getting angry, Ming Xian gave her his business card with his personal number.

This was ridiculous.

Was this really how capable the most feared woman in the business world was.

Everyone felt jealous because regardless of how they boot licked Ming Xian , he would never hand to them his business card with his personal contact information.
