Orenda: Eternal Vendetta Epilogue

EPILOGUE

Paul limped to the large picture window of the honeymoon suite in Little Current's most expensive resort hotel. He gazed out over the lonely, windswept vista of Manitoulin Island. From his vantage point atop the mountain, he could see clear across Manitowaning Bay to the remote, uninhabited south-eastern section of the largest inland island in the world.

He looked to his left, and saw a solid line of skiers waiting patiently for their turn on the lift. He had not come to ski. His days of skiing, jogging, and tennis were over. It was all he could do to walk with the prosthesis attached to his right thigh. He did not feel sorry for himself, rather he felt glad and lucky that he was alive.
