Preparations

When he woke up, there were still two beauties holding onto him, usually, they would both be greeting him by dealing with the obelisk currently lifting up the sheets, but even Linmin was still knocked out cold, clearly, last night had been a bit much for them, it was dubious if any would be capable of walking straight or at all actually, but who knew, perhaps the hefty dose of cleansing elixir they had both gotten would allow them to wake up without much soreness.

In any case, like well-oiled snake, Edrick managed to slip would of their adoring grasp without arising any suspicion, getting out of bed and after a few good stretches, got dressed, packed up what little personal effects he owned ahead of time into the very same package Zixuan Elt had carried when exiled here, and then headed out of the door, picking up the still bloody cane with him as he went to visit a place that was outside of his own little town.

Although the place he ruled over as lord was technically a town of its own, in essence, it really was the dump of another nearby town, where the people looked cleaner, weren't exactly rich, but not dirt poor either, they could come by and afford to live in actual houses as even though the ways of getting money were the same, they actually had more land to use, also, their mayor actually gave a crap which helped.

The town folks here did not really know who Edrick was, or rather, they rarely got to see him in the flesh, stories had already bled out from the poorer town into this one, and fellows his size and stature were not exactly common.

Walking through the streets whilst carrying a murder weapon, the people were being incredibly amicable and making way for him to get through, children were even being called back into their homes so that they wouldn't disturb him, how kind.

But they had no need to worry, Anoteros wasn't going to waste time with them today, instead, he headed to a small business he had already spotted a while back, in fact, during his first and only other visit to this place, it was mostly Linmin who had come here to try and get his hands on whatever Edrick wanted.

"Hello, hello, do you have a carriage available?" speaking jovially whilst leaning on his cane, Edrick awoke the man sleeping on the counter with a jolt.

"Ah! Hum… Yes! All of our two carriages are available in fact! Do you prefer the regular one or the slightly-luxurious one?" bearing the marks of his own hands upon his face, hair messy and generally looking dishevelled, this man had clearly been sleeping here for a while, presumably the biggest part of his job since there really wasn't much business for coachmen, this particular place was an off-shoot of another place somewhere with more traffic, Edrick had heard that the owner was just a cousin that had been given old carriages as new models had been created.

"The slightly-luxurious one, can you drive three people close to the Myriad-Arm Sect?" still perfectly polite, the barely-awake man didn't even notice the cane drenched in dried blood melded with hair.

"Three people? How much luggage will there be?" quickly emerging as money was nearing closer, the man began to scribble a bunch of things on a piece of paper.

Giving a rough estimate, Anoteros remained all smiles as his interlocutor began calculating the cost, and only when the time came to announce the price did he get a good look at his would-be customer.

Awfully tall, arms and hands large enough to give most a pause, dressed in rather fine clothing, perfectly clean, add deep purple eyes and a cane that looked more like a club that was riddled with signs of improper usage.

"Yup, thirty-five copper Leyen!" in Leynlornd, the most widely used currency was Leyen, good money as it was also accepted in the majority of the continent as a whole apparently, this kingdom might not be the strongest or largest, but it was filthy rich and surrounded by terrain that was arduous enough to deter any invasion and with their money circulating everywhere, their influence was very much set in stone.

The way it worked was oddly simple as well, copper Leyen's were in use by everyone, being the bulk of it all, then there were silver Leyens, who were mostly owned by the rich to pay for awfully expensive items and then, there were the royal gold Leyens, the name was self-explanatory, having any normally meant that one was of royal lineage, or very important within the kingdom, not that it served as more than a sign of wealth as their worth was so awfully high that they could rarely ever be used.

"Mmh… Sounds like a good price" basically ten per person and five for the luggage.

"Don't you worry sir! The roads leading to the Myriad-Arm Sect are all very secure, the noble cultivators often swipes through them to get rid of bandits and monsters alike- And we have a sister location that works for the sect directly too! I'll bring you directly to their gates!" feeling the need to sell his services a bit more just in case, the man, who seemed to be middle-aged, asked for when they would be going.

"How about this afternoon?"

"No problem! I'll be ready!" way too enthusiastic, he swiftly disappeared further into the shop, presumably heading to the area where the carriages were stocked.

"And don't worry about paying me right now, we'll see that later!" Edrick didn't respond, it seemed like the bloody cane was a pretty good way of negotiating.

Anoteros was fairly certain that the prices should have also included the food for the horses, extra in case of damage and the likes, in fact, this was probably way below what he would normally charge even without counting all of those extra fees.

Back at his residence, Edrick found his wives just barely waking up, their joints popping loudly as it was taking a of effort to get their bodies up and running, but they managed to rise to their feet surprisingly quick, seemed like Anoteros was right, the cleansing elixir was helping them not being wrecks for an entire day.

"We'll be going this afternoon, pack everything that you need" he said, it wasn't like they had much of anything to pack, there were little personal items anywhere, all the books available had already been read by everyone, only the one gifted to Fanqia needed to be brought along, the rest was mostly cloth and small items.

As for the training equipment, Edrick was just going to leave it behind, he would be able to find better once he got to his destination.

"Lord Edrick, do you intend on becoming a cultivator?" asked Linmin.

"Of course, and so are you" he grabbed the servant's chin "How else would you handle me otherwise?"

Linmin swallowed his saliva.

"I'll do my best, Lord Edrick- But, whilst the Myriad-Arm Sect is perfect for you, due to your powerful physique… I fear that it might not be great for me"

"Don't you worry, I'll make you into something valuable…"
