'...Dear god, why do I dream about random farm animals spinning on one leg in slow motion?' Edrick shook his head a bit and opened his eyes, soft light had just begun to fill the bedroom, shining through the closed curtains and giving off an ambiance that for some reason, he tended to associate more with summer than anything else, but perhaps it was because in spite of the outside's cold, he felt incredibly hot due to having four heaters stuck to him.

They were very cute, but when the great heat would arrive, that affection might be problematic.

Freeing his arms with great expertise, he ran his fingers through Fanqia's and Linmin's hair for a few moments, before beginning to slowly rise up, holding onto Hui who had managed to climb onto his chest in her sleep, and also Luxuli, who was holding onto his shirt like it was a plushy.

'I should just start looking into ways to cool the residence already, surely this magical world has magical cooling devices…' laying them down carefully, Anoteros successfully escaped the clutches of his wives, and exited the room.

'For Linmin to not already be awake, those four must have tried to train together whilst I was away' his second wife in particular had been planning on increasing the rate of his training and cultivation now that there was a maid to take a load of work off his back, and it was also good training to let Jingyi fend for herself a little bit, although it quickly became clear that this had been prepared in advance as Anoteros found his maid busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

He didn't say anything or make his presence known, just observing the girl moving about the large kitchen, navigating the space and its many different cabinets and drawers without much problem, there was hesitation and a tangible nervousness to her, but that wasn't leading to any mistake.

Before she could notice him standing there and jumped in surprise or otherwise messed something she was doing, he slightly knocked against the wooden wall.

"Master, good morning to you! Did you sleep well? Was the bedding to your liking?"

"You were in charge of preparing the room yesterday?"

"Yes, Master"

Edrick smiled, he was not getting tired in the least of being called 'Master', and Jingyi always had this little shy tone when saying it that was just delectable to the ears.

"I did not notice any difference compared to usual, what is on the menu this morning?"

"Lord Linmin said that we needed to exhaust this stock of meat, so I took some of the intestines, ground some of the meat and made sausages to go along with some eggs"

"That's nice" he simply replied, leaving the kitchen and taking a seat at the dinner table, deciding to open his list of quests and take a look at them.

*As a sasquatch, instill fear for the woods and cause not a single person to dare venture into the forest for at least an entire week*

This one was still unfinished for now, but it would just solve itself eventually.

Quite a few that he had decided to complete soon had to happen within the city, and obviously, the stakes were much higher than they were in the woods, although the sort of people that were targets were even weaker than the ones that would venture into the forest to gather stuff, that wasn't the issue.

The problem was that the chances of being caught were much higher, but that only heightened the fun as well.

And just as he was looking at them, one was completed.

Seemed like the fear had just finished spreading, he had not spared any effort into making it as horrifying as possible, and had also made sure that the authorities would not be able to conceal the gruesome murders by spreading bits and pieces across the city.

The rewards were standard, except for a cleaver, the completion granted him a most simple, regular cleaver, of great craftsmanship, but a normal cleaver nonetheless.

Though, it was the first time that he had received something like this, the items he received were normally just valuables of various kinds, they had never been tools or weapons until now.

'Interesting…' though not quite as interesting as when he had received permanent boosts or potions that granted permanent boosts, quests that would give him improvements to his energy circulation or physical body, these enhancements were literally free and had seemed superior to those acquired through consumables.

The quests given by the system seemed to have rather random rewards most of the time, but they at least weren't chores, serving as little fun things to do, the rewards serving as additional bonuses beyond the gratification of completing the missions already gave him.

Though, he would be lying if he said that he wasn't hoping to get himself some more uncommon things, especially since he knew that the system could give some very impressive stuff, Five-Legged Devil Goat Physique was incredible, and showed that the resources available to the system were great.

He continued to look through the long list of quests, checking if any actually listed the rewards, but the system must not have been inspired when it made them.

*Considering your affinity for doing better than expected, I had to change my approach to preparing rewards, and switched to calculating them right upon completion instead of promising them upfront, so unless in a few cases, I don't reveal anything, since there is nothing to reveal yet*

The system had an awareness of how things normally went down for special systems like itself, they were normally attached to individuals that were purposefully the worst fit for their particular functions, or individuals that could not be any less inefficient in their usage of their system, so it had needed to revise how to do things upon realising that it had struck gold and actually gotten a worthy user.

In fact, the system felt that it was not depraved enough to actually offer any challenge to Anoteros, and honestly, it didn't really want to purposefully make things difficult for him.

Considering everything, it had decided to take things slow and actually go along with Edrick, knowing that being too generous or too frugal would be problematic.

'You were just keeping it under the table for the right time, huh?' the system acted like it didn't hear that and instead went forward with presenting the quest, its presentation was rather lavish, indicating that it should be a difficult one with a handsome reward.

'Seduce, huh? I thought that you couldn't issue regular quests that had to do with a script… Isn't she supposed to be a love interest for Xiao?'

*I fear that Xiao does not care much about certain details of the plot, and is choosing to simply ignore them, I have gained the authorisation to create this quest, so it must mean that he does not intend, at all, to ever try to make her a part of his harem*

'That Ai girl must have really left him smitten, that's good to know, I'll get Shu to keep an eye on her'

Though, seducing Yin indeed sounded like a difficult task, even if Hui was not totally incorrect, and her friend did have some interest in men, it wouldn't be easy to get the righteous and stalwart Yin to fall for him, the blonde would undoubtedly refuse to have any sort of intimate relationship with her friend's husband.

After the meal, he did his usual training routine, but before going out to see the lovely elders, he pulled Hui and Luxuli close to him.

"I don't think you two ever had the occasion to work as a duo…"
