Who did it?

Bilat jolted upright, his chair scraping against the polished marble floor. His heart pounded in his chest as the system messages flooded his interface.

"What the—?"

His eyes rapidly scanned the glowing red text.

[Ding! Core energy at dangerously low level]

[Ding! Core energy at a critical level]

Bilat's fingers twitched. Critical level? What the hell was happening here? Why was the city core energy getting drained so fast? This shouldn't be happening. But he did not have the time right now to think clearly. This was an emergency.

He opened his system interface and then his personal inventory space. Inside his inventory, there were dozens and dozens of mana cores the size of a fist.

These were not the typical mana cores. They were high-grade mana cores from beast kings, the kind that were only available to the esteemed rank c kingdom mages.
