For several minutes after her departure, Aoni stood staring off into the distance, searching for any sign of Nyria. Unfortunately, between the clouds and the blue skies peaking through, his fledgling was virtually invisible to his lackluster eyesight.
"Sigh, well, it's not like she can get lost; we do live at the highest point of the mountain," releasing a tired chuckle, Aoni tore his eyes away from the sky and grunted while examining his surroundings.
"What I'd give for a butler or maid who can run around taking care of tasks for me," with slumped shoulders, Aoni tossed away his depressive thoughts and entered the cave before retrieving his yardstick.
"Fucking stupid yardstick, couldn't even summon a stupid tape measure," one profanity after another spewed out of his mouth as the Lad began the challenging process of getting as precise of a measurement as possible for the mouth of the cave.
