Only someone who has seen the horrors of being a Traveler could have such a view on the profession or way of life, and Jason was just that person.

On the outside, he looked rough and tough, but only his family knew about his softer side and the love he truly felt for each one of them.

That is why Aoni wasn't in the least bit surprised upon hearing what his Dad said. In fact, he wouldn't have been shocked if Jason and Lea had long since set up college funds or set aside money to be used in the event that their children didn't Awaken.

"I see…" what else could he say? Sorry for awakening? It's not like he had any say in the matter.

"While the others tally up the resources you brought back and come up with a business model, how about you tell me and your mother about your territory?" Jason said with a warm smile filled with that dreaded emotion that Aoni outright hated…hope.
