Chapter 23: Save Alice

Claudia just remembered the figure of Alfredo in the novel version whose name is Kael. When she accidentally read the information that Harry had previously obtained regarding Alice's background, one of which stated that Kael was Alice's secret lover. However, what would Harry gain from investigating Alice's background? 

Now what gave Claudia a headache was that in both the real world and the novel world, her best friend was faced with a jerk. If Alice met a bastard, would her friends in the Scarlet Community also experience the same fate? 

Claudia and Sarah remained silent while sipping mineral water to stay focused on monitoring Kael's movements. They were ready to arrest Kael, if his behavior went too far in torturing Alice. 

If looking at Alice's side now, she is ready to break up with her lover because she can't stand her lover's behavior and continues to torture her just because of small problems. In her heart, Alice actually wanted to ask Claudia to accompany her to face this bastard. However, because her pride was too high and she didn't want other people to get hurt because of her, she gave up his plans. 

"Kael, do you really care about me?" Alice asked in a resigned tone. 

Kael laughed devilishly while turning the glass cup clockwise. "Of course I really care about you. If for example I don't care, why would I be your lover?"

"Is it true? Then, why do you always get angry every time I don't comply with your wishes? Can't I just do it once in a while?"

"What? What did you just say?"

Alice got up from the chair carrying a sling bag. "I want to break up with you. I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore."

Kael slammed the table roughly while poking Alice on the shoulder. "You bitch! You really are ungrateful! Even though it's still good, I want to be your girlfriend. Otherwise, you will live alone!"

This time Alice didn't show a frightened face. Her right hand now immediately slapped Kael's face without hesitation, then kicked her leg relying on the red heels she was wearing. 

"I'd rather not have a boyfriend than date a jerk like you! You don't even deserve to be called human!"

When Alice turned around, Kael immediately went berserk, wanting to grab Alice's long hair. Seeing this scene as depicted in the novel's storyline, Claudia immediately ran over to Alice, followed by Sarah from behind. 

"Stop it!" Claudia's scream made Alice startled. 

"Claudia? What are you doing here?" Alice looked at her friend confused. 

Claudia nimbly took Alice's hand, then Sarah stood in front of Claudia as a shield. 

"If you dare hurt women, then I will report you to the police!" Sarah threatened. 

"You bitch!" When Kael threw his hand towards Sarah, of course Sarah immediately held Kael's hand while slamming Kael's body to the floor. 

Luckily for the bar visitors who initially came to enjoy their drinks, now they have all gone home since Alice started a heated conversation. Without further ado, Claudia and Sarah held Alice's arms to escort her out of this bar area. Claudia is very grateful to Sarah for protecting her and Alice's lives.

In the parking lot, Alice immediately let go of the two women's hands, which caused her wrist to turn slightly red. Even though her face showed anger, she was actually very grateful that these two women came to her on time. 

Claudia looked worriedly at Alice. One by one, check their physical condition, starting from the neck to the hands. "Alice, you're not hurt, right?"

"By the way, how did you know I would visit this bar? Even though I didn't mention the name of the bar this afternoon."

"I found out about that from Davina. She once told me that you like spending time at this bar." Even though Claudia deliberately made up the story to make it sound reasonable. It's more likely that she knows about it thanks to having read the storyline of the original novel. 

Alice didn't expect that her community friends, who usually acted indifferent to her, would now actually protect her life. She couldn't imagine that her life would be lost at such a young age. Her eyes started to tear up, she let out her tears while covering them with her palms. 

Claudia spontaneously hugged Alice's body warmly while patting her back rhythmically. Seeing Alice cry like this, she remembered that her closest friend experienced something similar in the real world. Even Tiara still regrets not being able to save her friend in time. As a result of her not coming to protect her friend, serious trauma resulted in her friend not wanting to meet anyone and isolating herself in the countryside. Meanwhile, she was finally able to save Alice before her life was taken. 

"It's all over, Alice. If you cry, cry as hard as you can."

"I'm sorry, Claudia. I shouldn't have shouted at you this afternoon."

"It doesn't matter. I know you must be very sick of me. But, because I don't want to lose one of my best friends, I will definitely protect you."

"Then, may you accompany me to my residence? "Actually, I'm still afraid of being attacked suddenly."

"Of course you can," Claudia answered quickly. "But, I'll take you, okay? For your car, let my assistant take it."

Alice nodded as she handed Sarah her car keys. "I'm sorry for bothering you with my car."

Sarah couldn't hold back her tears, and finally she cried because she herself really doesn't tolerate physical violence. "It doesn't matter. It's my job to help you two."

Claudia hugged Alice's shoulders tightly. "Come on, let's go home now! If I take you and accompany you, you will definitely be safe."

Now Alice was safe in his hands. The next question is whether the storyline of the novel will change because of her intervention to save Alice? Or is there another theory emerging that replaces Alice as the kidnapping victim?
