Chapter 25: Harry's Mysterious Side

Now Claudia wondered what activities Harry was doing up until midnight like this. He made several phone calls but they went unanswered. Claudia tried to throw negative thoughts away while taking a shower. 

Before going to sleep Claudia didn't even hear any sound. The house was very quiet without the presence of Harry who was always scolding him. It just felt so strange, that this cruel man disappeared for no reason, it was actually a mystery to Claudia. 

Thinking back to the beginning when Harry secretly investigated Alice's background. Why was Harry investigating Alice? Then, if he wanted to harm Alice, why did Harry take the initiative to contact Alice first and warn Alice to be careful? Claudia felt there was one thing she had missed about Harry. It was impossible for Harry to want to harm Alice, and he had already made sure that Alice would be safe. He even ordered Alice to give news tomorrow morning that he was still alive. Thinking about all these theories made Claudia fall asleep. 

The next day, Claudia blinked slowly as the sun shone through the room. However, what surprised her was that her husband was now hugging her body so tightly that she couldn't move freely. 

It felt like Claudia wanted to wake her husband up by hitting him, but looking at how soundly he was sleeping, Claudia was a little suspicious that Harry was doing heavy activities at night. The fragrance of the bath soap is so fragrant as if it is covering something. 

Especially considering that it was expected that Harry would come home at dawn, what had Harry actually done without Claudia knowing? When Claudia moved her body a little, suddenly her husband's deep voice made her body jolt. 

"You had the heart to wake me up on holiday," scolded Harry in a whisper. 

"I didn't wake you up. Shouldn't I take a shower first?"

Harry opened his eyes with a mischievous smile. "I'll let you shower after I'm done sleeping."

Claudia raised her right eyebrow. "If you feel tired, why didn't you come home last night when I came home? Even though I was waiting for you, instead I fell asleep until morning!"

"About that, I'm sorry. "After all last night I did important work that I couldn't postpone."

"What job is that?"

"You don't need to know."

Claudia was a little suspicious that the work Harry had been doing all night had something to do with Alice. Now Claudia just had to wait for a short message from Alice indicating good news. 

Drrt…drrt… 

Hearing the sound of the cell phone vibrating on the bedside table, Claudia swiftly let go of her husband's arms and took her cell phone. It didn't matter that Harry would scold him for disturbing his sleep, the most important thing was that he wanted to make sure the notification he had just received was a message from Alice. 

She guessed correctly that the short message that had just arrived was from Alice. While reading the message silently, Claudia smiled with relief as she looked at her husband who was still lazing in bed. It can be concluded that Harry was not the perpetrator who kidnapped Alice. Then, the real perpetrator was Kael. Now the question is whether the plot of the novel will definitely change because of his intervention. However, why did she feel like nothing was happening? 

"Claudia, I'll be angry if you're busy playing on your cell phone early in the morning," scolded Harry while patting the bed. 

Claudia laughed a little then lay down next to Harry. Her right hand gradually stroked her handsome husband's soft cheek. "Thank you, Harry."

"Why are you suddenly grateful? What did I give you?"

"It's just… I like you."

Hearing sweet words from his wife, Harry opened his eyes again. Especially looking at the sweet smile displayed by his wife made his heart pound again. If he continued like this, he would fall in love with Claudia for real. 

"Don't you like me every day?" Harry asked in a cold tone. 

"But, this time is different."

Harry didn't understand the meaning of his wife's words. However, what is certain is that seeing the rare smile displayed by his wife made him smile too. Just doing this simple thing made him not want to laze in bed anymore.

After finishing breakfast, Claudia and Harry spent time together watching Claudia's favorite drama. Claudia didn't even think that in the world of novels there would still be dramas like the real world. However, his favorite drama is currently not being broadcast because there is breaking news which is currently a hot topic of discussion. 

Initially Claudia had been smiling since this morning, now her face turned pale when she saw this news regarding the incident of finding a body in a luxury residence. Moreover, the body has been identified as Kael, Alice's ex boyfriend. This case is a case of suicide if you look at Kael writing a will too. 

Her hunch was right from the start. If she was to save Alice, then someone would have to be sacrificed. However, Claudia is very sure that Kael did not commit suicide, because she knows Kael's character very well, who is a bastard who will definitely look for a new woman to satisfy his desires. 

For a moment, Claudia's eyes focused on the look on her husband's face as if she wasn't too surprised. Could it be possible that the perpetrator was Harry? Then, if she didn't change the plot of the novel, would the perpetrator who killed Alice be Harry too? It was getting dizzy thinking about all the theories that were increasingly unreasonable since he lived in the world of novels. 

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Harry asked while looking at his wife with a grin. 

"Why are you not surprised to see this news? Is it because you don't know Kael?"

Harry laughed sarcastically as he folded his arms. "I actually know Kael very well. He is a bastard who likes to play with women in clubs."

Claudia's eyes widened. Of course he was surprised because as far as he knew, in the plot of the novel, it was not shown that Harry knew Kael very well. In fact, they only knew each other because they had met briefly at an important event. The more secrets Harry covered up actually made Claudia think of him as a mysterious villain. 

"How do you know his background?"
