From roadside leaves to simple kindergarten stick-figure sketches, Ben would lovingly present anything he fancied to Wanda. Their mother-son relationship, however, began to strain when Wanda prohibited sweets due to Ben's dental issues.

This memory brought tears to Wanda's eyes as she gathered these items. When the courier arrived, she handed over the package with specific instructions: "Deliver this to Villa 14 in Clear Water Bay in exactly seven days. It's for Christina. Inform her she can have the husband and child now. I've decided to get rid of this worthless pair."

"What are you disposing of, Wanda?"

The question came just as Eric approached, carrying Ben. The child held a vibrant bunch of red roses.

As soon as Ben's feet touched the ground, he dashed towards Wanda. "Mommy, I picked these for you! Do you like them?"

He stretched up, offering the bouquet, his eyes sparkling with anticipation of her approval.

Eric glanced at the departing courier, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "What were you sending just now?"

Wanda replied briefly, "Nothing significant, just some old junk."

"The housekeeper should handle such tasks. You need more rest, given your health," Eric said with concern, his forehead creasing.

"I'm not fragile. A little housework won't harm me," Wanda countered.

Eric sighed. "You're always like this. Let me take care of these things from now on."

He continued, "For our anniversary tonight, Ben and I chose a jade bracelet for you. Do you like it?"

He presented a bag, his face apologetic. "I had planned a nice restaurant dinner, but an urgent work matter came up. I had to take Ben to the office. Shall we postpone and celebrate properly next week?"

Ben nodded eagerly, adding, "Daddy was really busy. I even dozed off at the office!"

Wanda studied Eric's face intently, but saw only the familiar love, without a hint of guilt.

The supposed restaurant dinner was actually Eric taking Ben to see Christina. He couldn't have split his time to celebrate with Wanda, even if he'd wanted to.

Wanda laughed lightly, glancing at the bouquet before saying casually, "I see. Let's go inside quickly. Look! Ben is shivering from the cold."

Previously, Wanda would have immediately shielded Ben from the chilly wind, even offering her scarf. Now, she merely used it as an excuse to change the subject.

Inside, both father and son looked around the noticeably barer living room, puzzled.

Eric quickly sensed something was off. His lips tightened as he cautiously asked, "Wanda, is something missing from the house?"

Ben also noticed his family portrait gift was gone. He tugged at Wanda's clothes, asking worriedly, "Mommy, where's my painting?"

Wanda calmly removed her son's hand. She sipped water in the living room, then replied slowly, "Those things were cluttering up space. I sold them to a junk dealer."

Hearing this, Eric quietly sighed in relief. For him, as long as his affair remained hidden, all was well. Despite his infidelity, in his heart, Wanda was his only wife.

He relaxed his tense expression, leaned down, and gently pinched Ben's disappointed cheeks.
