Chapter 101: Respect the Enemy, and Make Them into Equipment

Euron Greyjoy still underestimated Wright's defensive magic. With a "bang", Wright effortlessly leapt up from the hold and landed back on the deck, completely unharmed.

"Euron! I'll use your skull as a bowl!" Those familiar with the effects of defensive magic were typically those who had studied in magic School, with even Robert and Stannis having some basic knowledge. However, anyone who had fought Wright was already dead. With Dragon shouts, Ironflesh, and Ice Armor providing triple protection, Wright wasn't someone easy to kill. He began running and jumping wildly across the deck, charging toward Euron.

"Where are the crossbows? Aim and fire!" Euron saw his crew at the ship's bow struggling to aim at Wright, constantly swaying left and right, unable to land a shot. Euron walked up, pushed them aside, and took control of the crossbow himself, aiming directly at Wright.

"Die!" With that, the heavy crossbow fired, sending a massive steel-tipped bolt hurtling toward Wright at incredible speed.

As Wright continued to leap across the ship, he was always mindful of Euron's every move. The moment the bolt reached him, he immediately sidestepped and narrowly avoided the crossbow bolt. Using the momentum from his dodge, he leapt into the air, summoning an ice spear in his hands. Twisting his body midair, he threw the ice spear at Euron as he landed.

The ice spear contained immense power. Euron sensed the danger the moment he saw it in Wright's hand and crouched down to avoid it. The spear flew right past him, narrowly missing his body, but it struck the crossbow, jamming the weapon and saving Euron's life by diverting the spear's trajectory.

"Re-load! Re-load!" Euron shouted to his crew as he scrambled to get back on his feet, preparing to fire the crossbow again.

Suddenly, another explosive fireball came hurtling toward the crossbow. It exploded on impact, engulfing the weapon in flames. While the steel frame of the crossbow remained mostly intact due to its sturdiness, the magic fire began to burn the surface, and the bowstring was quickly severed, rendering the weapon useless.

The force of the explosion sent Euron flying backward, and he crashed onto the deck, stunned by the blast.

He hurriedly grabbed the ship's railing to steady himself, seeing that the monsters at the port had already been thoroughly defeated by the two armored men summoned by Wright, and were now scattering in all directions.

"Pick up your weapons! Wright Baratheon is about to board the ship! If you kill him, your fame will spread across two continents!" Euron Greyjoy shouted orders to his crew, then walked to the door of the cabin. He casually picked up a discarded helmet, using it as a bowl to scoop water from a bucket that reeked of rotting flesh.

"Ah, the subtle magic nourishing your body — may I cut you open and have a look?" A Draemora lord had already crawled up onto the deck and was eyeing Euron. Euron, seeing the blood-soaked Draemora lord, immediately tore off his eye patch and launched an attack. The Draemora lord froze as the magic hit, collapsing to the ground, stiff as a board.

Euron, still holding Shade of the evening, spilled some of the blue liquid in his panic. The horrible stench of decay filled the air. Another Draemora lord climbed up from the ropes.

"Kill him!" Euron's magic had not yet recovered, so he could only order his crew to hold their ground. The two Draemora Lords, receiving Wright's command, halted their pursuit of the fleeing monsters and turned to climb aboard Euron's ship.

Wright wasn't sure how many more times Euron's eye magic could be used, or if there were other effects, so he sent his summoned creatures ahead to engage. How long could the thirty crew members hold off the Draemora Lords? Their armor and great swords were forged from Demon Metal, capable of easily slicing through steel weapons, while their near-impenetrable armor only had a small weak point—unprotected heads. However, the Draemora Lords were skilled enough to defend flawlessly. It didn't take long before the crew was slaughtered, their blood staining the entire deck.

The Draemora Lords moved in front of Euron, raising their swords to decapitate him. But despite holding this position, their sword didn't fall.

Wright, who had been crouched by the ship's side, noticed the situation and swiftly leaped onto the deck. Drawing his dark sister sword, he approached Euron step by step. The port was nearly deserted now, with most of the people killed and the rest fleeing. Euron's ship now had only him left.

Euron, seeing Wright approach, grabbed the bucket of Shade of the evening, uncaring of the entrails floating inside, and drank directly from it. Just as he was drinking, an ice spear pierced the bucket, pinning it to the deck. Euron nearly dropped it, but the bucket still hung on the ice spear. He kept drinking, but the Shade of the evening quickly began to freeze. Soon, his mouth was filled with ice shards, forcing him to stop. He turned around to face Wright.

Wright was already standing before him.

"I'm not in a rush to kill you; I'm just curious. How did you, a pirate, know I was here?" Wright asked.

Euron glared fiercely at him. "You must know how many people hate your house! They want nothing more than to peel the skin off all four of you brothers!"

Wright raised his dark sister sword, tracing its tip across Euron's chestplate. Euron, though as tall as Wright, knew that he was no match for him. He didn't move.

"Valyrian steel armor..." Wright murmured.

Euron wasn't someone who was easily intimidated by death. As he spoke, his hands moved behind his back, drawing two Valyrian steel daggers to stab at Wright's sides. But before the blades could reach their target, ice spikes suddenly rose from the deck, piercing through Euron's palms. The ice continued to shoot out, lifting Euron off the ground. His body was suspended in the air, the numerous ice spikes holding him up at about head height. Euron could only hang there, his head tilted down as he looked at Wright.

"What are you going to do?" he asked, struggling to maintain his defiance.

Wright dispelled the icy armor, the shards falling to the ground and shattering. He pulled a Valyrian steel ring from his pocket and held it out toward Euron. "Tell me who told you I was here, and I'll throw your corpse into the sea. Otherwise, I'll burn both you and this ship down."

Euron, a man devoted to the Sea God, had always believed that death should bring a sea burial.

"You want to use me for a blood sacrifice and perform blood magic!" Euron, well-versed in the ways of the world, immediately made the connection as soon as he saw Wright's ring. "I curse you with my evil eye, Wright Baratheon. All your wealth will be swallowed by the sea, and you will be consumed by the Sea God!"

Even though Euron knew he would die, he continued to taunt, speaking as if the curse would somehow affect Wright. In response, Wright simply slashed off his entire lower jaw.

Euron gasped, the pain causing him to wail in agony. Unable to speak, blood poured from the wound and choked him, making it nearly impossible for him to breathe. The world here lacked soulstones to store souls, and any form of enchantment in this world required a living sacrifice. Wright began to draw a magical array with Euron's blood, not even sparing him a glance as he focused on the task.

As the magic circle was completed, Wright placed the ring on an ice spike and began gathering his magical energy with both hands. Euron fell silent, his body completely still. Something stirred under his eye patch, pushing it aside. A long, smooth black tentacle emerged from his eye socket.

Wright immediately stepped back, startled by the unexpected appearance of the tentacle. Soon, several more tentacles extended from his eyes, growing larger as they emerged. The tentacles were surrounded by bubble-like sacs that constantly inflated and popped, as if they were alive and in a constant state of transformation.
