The atmosphere in the corridor was stifling, filled with unspoken feelings and simmering anger. I stood motionless, facing three options, each represented by a person with their own story.

On my left stood Marco Salvani, my former spouse, whose family had ruined mine. His father had taken my mother's life, and although I had ended his father's cruel reign, the emotional scars Marco left still lingered. His dark gaze met mine, inscrutable yet intense.

To my right was Gregor Fitzburg, a ruthless businessman who callously destroyed lives for profit. He was responsible for hurting Blake, and the image of Blake lying wounded because of this man made me see red.

Then, from the corner of my eye, I saw Daniel, my trusted friend who always supported me. Our eyes met briefly, and without words, we shared an understanding, a strategy.

I knew what I had to do.
