Amelia's face flushed red, then turned deathly pale, her fear spreading like wildfire through her body.

"Selina, stop spouting nonsense!" She forced a laugh before turning to Logan, "She's just trying to drive a wedge between us! And you're just going to stand there and let her?"
But Logan's gaze was completely unreadable.
"Actually," he said, his tone light, yet firm, "I think Selina has a point."
Amelia instinctively raised her voice, trying to mask her panic.
"I favor Owen because I watched him grow up! A person isn't made of stone—feelings develop over time. Logan, surely you understand that?"
