"Fast, get the monster core and absorb its spell before the core disappears," Elias said as he walked towards Alvin.
Alvin nodded his head and cut the Thuninion to get its core. Despite the death of Thuninion, they still have to be quick in their next action. The cloud core was the energy core of a monster, it would evaporate and disappear in 30 minutes.
Alvin grinned as he looked at the shiny monster core. It was a small core with a mix of purple and green colors. This was his first monster core. Although it was a level 12 Thuninion, not some high-rank cloud monster, he still felt happy.
Alvin sat down on the floor and started to absorb the core. First, he summoned his cloud. Then, he held the core that exuded purple-green light on his right hand and closed his eyes. If someone looked closely, the core slowly turned from solid into gas, flowing into Alvin's cloud.
Alvin was fully concentrating on absorbing the spell, unconcerned about the surroundings. Absorbing the core didn't always succeed, it required a full concentration of a cloud holder to increase the success rate.
Usually, cloud holders would form a team when getting their cloud spell. This was because absorbing the monster core alone in an environment like a spire was very dangerous.
While Alvin was absorbing the monster core, Elias was glancing around. Although the Thuninion was dead, they still needed to be cautious of other cloud monsters.
Luckily he had preparations for this, Elias poured some powder around them, making sure no cloud monster would come here.
Then, he collected the skin, wing, and fur of the Thuninion. All of these were valuable items that they could sell. They probably could sell it for 1000 dollars.
After collecting the fur, Elias took out a healing potion from his bag and stood beside Alvin. Just in case Alvin got injured or had an accident when absorbing the monster core, he would be able to save him.
Holding the healing potion, Elias looked at Alvin with a gentle gaze. Alvin was shimmering in a purple-green light, an indication of absorbing the monster's core.
Alvin felt the energy of the monster core was flowing into his cloud. After absorbing the core for 20 minutes, the energy flow slowed down.
Luckily, the absorbing process went well. Slowly, a green wind symbol surrounded by two black balls was formed on his cloud. The two black balls were rotating around the wind symbol as if the moon rotating around a planet. In his instinct, Alvin knew that he had succeeded.
At first, he thought he needed two or three times to absorb the monster core to get his cloud spell.
Maybe even more times of absorbing.
But now, he succeeded in the first round, which was a good thing. They didn't need to find another cloud monster.
On top of that, it was a great level 12 cloud spell.
Alvin opened his eyes and gazed at the wind symbol. The wind symbol indicated that it was a wind element spell, the one ball around the wind symbol indicated the cloud spell level of 11 to 20 level.
"Nice one." Elias nodded his head as he saw the wind symbol.
"First cloud spell, rank 1 Wind Blade," Alvin said as he raised his cloud. The wind symbol on it shone with a white light.
Next second, a wind blade that was as large as a ruler formed and shot to a tree. Of course, the wind blade didn't come with an element with it. For now, it was a blade that was vibrating at high frequency.
*boommm
The wind blade was fast and powerful. Even without the wind element in it, it reached the tree that was 5 meters away in just a blink. The tree was cut into two pieces, and fell on the ground, creating a huge sound.
Alvin gasped as he saw its power. This was just his first cloud spell, a rank 1 cloud spell. He could imagine how powerful it would be for the rank 7 or rank 8 cloud spell.
"Wind blade is a suitable first spell for an attack mage." Elias nodded and said.
"Alright, let's go before any cloud monster finds us" Elias picked up his bag and said.
Just as Alvin turned around, and wanted to go, he heard an angry roar from the sky. It was a much louder roar than before.
Alvin froze for a moment. He raised his head and swallowed as he saw a huge-sized Thuninion in the sky. Based on the size, Alvin could tell it was a level 21 Thuninion.
"Haiz, not lucky. Run, Alvin." Elias exclaimed.
Without any hesitation, Alvin nodded and ran in high gear. Having the experience of fighting the level 12 Thuninion, he knew how difficult it would be to fight a level 21 Thuninion.
"Probably is its father," Elias said while running.
They tried to run, but the Thuninion's flying speed was much faster than their running speed. With just a few moments, a purple- green monster landed in front of them.
Thuninion was glaring at them, its green wing was flipping as if ready to dart forward. Alvin noticed that the Thuninion was looking at Elias' bag. Inside the bag was the previous, dead Thuninion.
Elias sighed before speaking, his gaze focused on the Thuninion in front of them. "Alvin, we split now, you run to the left. I run to the right. Meet you at the entrance."
"Run" Elias exclaimed as he saw Thuninion cast a thunderstorm at them.
Hearing that, Alvin ran to the left side and Elias ran to the right side, dodging the Thuninion's attack.
Just before the thunderstorm hit them, they managed to run away.
Without a pause, Alvin darted to the left side, running to the entrance.
After running for a distance, Alvin found out that Thuninion didn't chase him. He paused and breathed heavily, sweating. At the same time, a thought came to his mind. He remembered Mr Elias said that he didn't have any cloud spell.
He stood up straight, and looked at the way he came from, wondering how was Mr Elias.Did he escape?
After thinking for one second, he decided to go back. He wanted to ensure the safety of Mr Elias.
"Body strengthening, leg." A surge of energy flowed into his leg, gearing up his speed. With a few steps, he darted for 20 meters.
While running, Alvin was thinking of a way to win the fight. He decided that if there was no choice, he will use his magic.
"Mr. Elias, wait for me" Alvin murmured.
