Chapter 141 Odysseus vs. Klein
Chapter 141 Odysseus vs. Klein
15 Minsk Street.
Klein returned to his residence and lit the fireplace first.
As the fire in the fireplace grew bigger, he smiled and whispered, "Praise the fireplace!"
In winter, being by the fireplace is a real treat.
Klein was slightly startled when someone knocked
on the door. He wondered why the other party didn't use the doorbell.
When his hand was about to grab the door handle, Klein was slightly startled because the scene outside the door did not appear in his mind as usual.
Click~
Just as Klein was hesitating, the door opened a crack by itself.
Klein retreated as swiftly as a cat.
Creak!
The door seemed to be rusty and slowly opened with a harsh sound.
Klein saw that outside was not a street, or even Backlund, but a wilderness with heavy rain falling!
The weeds were swaying left and right as they were beaten by the rain, and from a distance they looked very gloomy, as if pairs of malicious eyes were staring at this place.
Klein calmly picked up his cane and used it to push the door, but the door did not move at all.
At this time, a man suddenly appeared in the wilderness.
It wasn't there one second, and appeared the next.
The man wearing a mask and a windbreaker is Mr. Gal!
Klein was slightly stunned: Is this Mr. Gal's way of contacting others secretly?
But he soon felt something was wrong, because Mr. Gal gave people a very gloomy feeling, and even felt like he was not a living person.
The man's clothes were soaked, but he didn't care. After reaching the door, he said to Klein in a sinister tone, "Don't go out on a rainy day."
Klein asked alertly, "Why are you back again?"
"I have something important to discuss with you." Mr. Gal said, "Won't you invite me in?"
Klein said, "I don't have such plans."
Mr. Gal suddenly sprinkled a handful of iron-black powder, and an invisible giant hand clenched its fist and smashed towards Klein.
Klein realized the danger and immediately turned on his "spiritual vision" and saw the invisible giant hand.
He dodged swiftly and pointed his index finger at Mr. Gal: "Bang bang bang..."
…
The reason why Odysseus dared to let the coachman help deliver the letter without fear of being intercepted by the enemy was because he came to this conclusion based on the intelligence he had learned.
The Rose School's operation failed last week, but the official Beyonders have remained on high alert and are still searching for the escaped members of the Rose School.
Any unofficial extraordinary forces would not dare to make any big moves at this time.
So Odysseus came to the conclusion that the Moss Ascetic Order could not send out demigods for this operation, because if so, the official demigods would probably be able to surround him within ten seconds. They also could not send out a large number of people, which would easily expose their target.
However, if the opponent is a Sequence 5, even if it is just a Sequence 6, it will be difficult to deal with.
So Odysseus thought that Klein should be reminded to prevent him from being attacked when he was completely unprepared.
But when Odysseus arrived at No. 15 Minsk Street, he found a "star ring" on the door. When he knocked on the window again, Klein opened the door, soaking wet, with a strange smile on his face.
Odysseus was stunned for a moment before asking, "You, you fell into the toilet?"
If you treat the bathroom as the kingdom of God, such a tragedy will happen sooner or later.
Klein just smiled strangely and said, "Don't go out on a rainy day."
Odysseus was secretly on guard and slowly took two steps back: "Can we go out if it doesn't rain?"
"Don't go out unless it rains," Klein said with a sinister smile.
As Odysseus continued to retreat, he kept talking nonsense to the other party: "I understand now, but you can't go out, right?"
"Yes."
Odysseus suddenly asked again: "How was your life when you were in Tingen City?"
Klein replied slowly: "Not bad."
Odysseus hummed, confirming that the person in front of him was not Klein, because this was Klein's secret. Odysseus had never discussed anything about Tingen City with Klein from beginning to end.
Klein then said, "Please come in and have a cup of tea."
Odysseus was already far away from the door at this time. He saw that the ground inside the door was full of puddles, and the furniture and furnishings all looked wet.
He couldn't help but ask, "Is your house leaking?"
Before Klein could answer, Odysseus asked again: "How can we make tea with this? The tea leaves have already gone moldy, right?
" "I have something urgent to do. Let's talk about it another day."
It's not that he doesn't care about Klein's life or death, but that guy is protected by the "Source Castle". This attack, which is obviously weird but not that aggressive, can't pose any problem for Klein.
At this time, the soaked "Klein" still said with a strange smile: "It's too late. The moment I open the door, you can't escape."
There were sudden and drastic changes around Odysseus. The pedestrians on the street quickly disappeared, the houses on both sides fell into ruin in a short time, and knee-high weeds grew under Odysseus's feet.
Then it started raining.
Odysseus made a quick judgment and sprinkled a handful of transparent powder at "Klein". A strong wind appeared and swept towards the door.
He knew very well that it was definitely not the Sealed Objects or the Beyonders that made Backlund desolate.
If that were the case, all the angels from the Kingdom of Loen would probably be dispatched.
Thinking back to the "star ring" he had seen on the door before, Odysseus thought that he must have been affected by that "star ring".
He even went further and speculated that under the effect of the "Star Ring", as long as he opened the door, he would have entered a strange space.
So Odysseus, like Klein, also thought of closing the door, but the strong wind could not shake the door at all.
Klein had already raised his finger and pointed it at Odysseus slowly: "Bang~Bang~Bang~"
Odysseus quickly broke open the door of the badly rotten house across the street and hid inside.
In the house, he began to think about how to deal with the "magician".
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
The opponent's main abilities are "Fire Jump", "Air Bomb", "Paper Man Substitute" and "Fire Control", among which the offensive ones are "Air Bomb" and "Fire Control".
Then, witchcraft such as "fire magic" cannot be used...
Just as he thought of this, a small flame suddenly ignited in the dark corner of the room, and "Klein" crawled out from it and continued to attack Odysseus with "air bombs".
As Odysseus dodged the opponent's "air bomb", he immediately sprinkled a handful of white powder.
The white powder exploded between the two people with a crackling sound. The white explosion like fireworks instantly turned into a lightning bolt and hit "Klein" in the head.
Puff~
"Klein" suddenly shrank and turned into a paper man, which was struck by lightning and turned into charred waste paper.
While fighting, Odysseus had already thought of a solution.
While "Klein" was hiding outside the room using the "paper man substitute", he quickly took out the space sub-array leading to the "wilderness of knowledge".
Fortunately, although he was in a strange wilderness at this time, this "space magic array" could still be used.
Odysseus reached out and took out a golden one-handed shield. After quickly putting away the magic circle, he raised the shield and rushed out.
This shield is very similar to the one that Lelouch used in the fighting arena before, except that this shield has a simpler function and does not have a second layer of silver explosion structure. It is an early work developed by Odysseus.
After seeing Odysseus rush out, "Klein" continued to attack with "air bullets".
Odysseus was not too afraid of the opponent using "fire manipulation" to attack him, because it was raining and the surroundings were wet, so the fire attack was very limited.
The golden shield easily blocked all the "air bullets". The strength of this shield is that it can block at least 8 rifle bullets or 20 revolver bullets.
Currently, Klein is still a Sequence 7 "Magician", and his "air bullets" only have the power of a revolver.
With the help of the shield, Odysseus quickly approached his target and punched him in the chin.
This is Odysseus's tactic, close combat with the opponent.
The two men were very close to each other, and "Klein" could no longer use his "air bullet" ability, but his body was strengthened by the "Joker" and he was very agile, so he easily avoided Odysseus' attack.
But in close combat, agility alone is not enough. Odysseus suddenly followed and leaned forward, causing Klein to stagger.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Odysseus threw out a handful of blue powder. A gust of icy wind blew by, and the temperature around him dropped suddenly. A layer of solid ice immediately appeared on the part of Klein's body that was sprinkled with the powder, and his left half was almost frozen.
But "Klein" seemed to be unaware of the pain, not even frowning, and continued to attack Odysseus while waving his frozen arms.
Odysseus held the shield horizontally and thrust it forward, hitting Klein hard in the chest.
Phew~
The other party used the "paper man substitute" again.
Odysseus immediately took two steps back, waiting in the drizzle for "Klein" to appear, and then pursue him.
But after two or three seconds, Odysseus found something wrong, because after the "paper man substitute", it would reappear in one or two seconds at most, and now two or three seconds had passed.
Could this be the way to defeat Klein?
But there was no time to think about these things now. Odysseus quickly approached the door of No. 15 Minsk Street. He grabbed the door handle and pulled it hard, but the door remained motionless.
Then Odysseus heard a slight "buzzing" sound in his ears, and he found that the scenery behind him suddenly changed. The originally dilapidated streets had completely turned into a wilderness.
"Bang~"
At this time, the sound of "air bomb" was heard again in the dim room.
Odysseus quickly raised his shield. He saw a Klein appear in the room inside the door. The other party did not have a strange smile and his clothes were not wet. He should be the real Klein.
Odysseus had just been in the rain and his clothes were soaked. Thinking of the "fake Klein" he had just met, he suddenly realized that Klein attacked him because he saw that his clothes were wet.
After a moment's thought, he asked, "Does the cigar I gave you taste good?"
(End of this chapterChapter 142 Don't Go Out on Rainy Days
Chapter 142: Don't Go Out on Rainy Days
The real Klein in the room mistook the soaking wet Mr. Gal in front of him as the "Mr. Gal" who had attacked him just now.
He paused until he heard Odysseus' question: "Who did I take to the Nanmu Ballroom for refuge?"
"Mike, a reporter from the Daily Observer," Odysseus replied.
"Are you really Mr. Gal?" Klein asked, "Why are you here?"
Odysseus smiled bitterly and said, "I originally wanted to come and warn you that we might be in danger, but I met a 'Sherlock Detective' with soaking wet clothes who opened the door for me, and in the blink of an eye I was here."
Crane asked, "Where's the other 'Sherlock'?"
"I seriously injured him twice. After using the 'Paper Man Substitute' twice, he disappeared." Odysseus said, "There should be another Mr. Gal, right?"
Klein also smiled and said, "Mr. Gar's 'witchcraft' is indeed powerful, but he is far less intelligent than you."
The two smiled at each other, tacitly indicating that they knew each other's methods.
At this time, Odysseus looked around and saw that there was only one building left at No. 15 Minsk Street. This townhouse was located in a wilderness with many small hills around it, all covered with weeds, and it looked very desolate.
Odysseus came into the house, and all the furnishings inside seemed to have been soaked in water and were dripping continuously.
Now, whether inside or outside the house, it has become another world.
Odysseus asked: "Have you found any clues?"
Klein looked at the only door that was not affected and whose paint was still very bright. "This door seems to be a little special."
Odysseus nodded and said, "When I arrived at your door, I saw a ring with starlight hanging on it. It must have caused some changes to your door."
This time it was Klein who asked, "Do you have any solution?"
"It would be best to try closing the door."
Klein nodded. He thought so too, but the door seemed to be welded to the ground and could not be opened no matter how hard he pulled.
…
The door of No. 15 Minsk Street was closed, as if it had never been opened.
The python-like fog came and went, rolling up the "star ring" on the door with its mist and drifting towards the corner of the street.
At this time, her ability to transform into mist ended, and a woman in her thirties with a pointed face and big eyes walked out of the thick fog.
Looking at the "Star Ring" in her hand, she couldn't help but smile. Originally, she just wanted to use this seal to trap Odysseus's accomplice so that he could not rescue Odysseus.
But unexpectedly, Odysseus himself also "drilled" in, which saved her the trouble of finding an opportunity to capture someone.
The woman walked quickly forward, rested for a few minutes, and then transformed into a mist python again and moved forward.
This ability of hers was "heard" from the "Hidden Sage". It might not be very useful in other places, but in the foggy Backlund, it has an unexpected concealment effect.
So this mission was given to her.
…
In the wilderness, Odysseus and Klein looked at the door and fell into deep thought together.
Since the door cannot be opened, I can consider exploring the wilderness. However, in the distance of the wilderness, it seems that there are pairs of malicious eyes staring at this place. It is very dangerous to explore rashly under such circumstances.
Odysseus guessed: "The wilderness before us seems to be somewhere in the real world."
He felt this when he took something from the "Wilderness of Knowledge" just now, and the scene outside did not look like the underworld or the spirit world.
Could it be the astral realm?
Klein nodded, confirming what "Mr. Garr" said, because he had just tried it and found that he could enter "above the gray fog", so he should be in the real world.
He voiced his doubts: "The question is, how did we get here?"
Odysseus pondered for a moment and said, "That 'Star Ring' is likely to be the seal of the 'Gate' path. As long as certain conditions are triggered, you can be 'teleported' here."
Klein hummed. This guess seemed to be very reliable. "But the problem is back to square one. How can we trigger the conditions to go back?"
Odysseus thought for a moment and said, "Let me give it a try first."
He grabbed the door handle and said, injecting spirituality into it, "Don't go out on rainy days."
No response.
Then Odysseus said while injecting spirituality: "Don't go out unless it rains."
Still no response.
Klein behind him grinned insincerely. He thought: Can I only go out when it's cloudy but not raining?
But then he couldn't laugh anymore, because he had thought of this "spell" just now, but only the first one.
Odysseus sighed: "It seems that we have to think of other ways."
Klein asked, "What can you do?"
Odysseus said helplessly: "I'm not that strong."
Klein felt the same helplessness: "Me neither."
Then he said: "Why not try to destroy this door?"
The situation facing the two people now is that it seems easier and less labor-intensive to destroy the door than to close it.
But neither of them did anything, because they thought of another problem: What if they destroyed the door and couldn't go back?
At that time, the situation would be even more embarrassing, and they might only have the risk of exploring the surroundings.
They stared at the door in deep thought, and suddenly Odysseus asked, "Can we remove the door frame and let it close with the door?"
Klein nodded: "We can give it a try."
At least the door frame won't be destroyed. If not, you can just install it back.
Klein went to the basement and found two rusty crowbars. The two men didn't care about the rust on them. They took one side each and quickly removed the door frame with the crowbars. Then they fastened the door frame to the door.
There was no response and I couldn't open the door again.
When they were about to install the door back and thinking of other solutions, they suddenly discovered that the door frame seemed to be "welded" and just like the door, it did not move at all.
This made the two men fall into deep thought again, but soon Odysseus broke the silence: "If I'm not mistaken, the whole house must be turned and closed with the door."
Klein smiled helplessly: "This guess should be correct, but the problem is, there are only two of us, how can we turn the entire villa around?"
Although both of them are Beyonders, and both are Sequence 7, they are already very powerful characters among wild Beyonders.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
But even so, it is impossible to complete an operation like turning a townhouse!
Odysseus didn't say anything. He thought for a while before saying, "It's not impossible."
As he spoke, he took out a small bottle of essential oil made from spiritual materials: "Now we'd better pray that the spiritual materials I brought are enough."
If it is not enough, we will have to use the blood of two people. After all, the blood of extraordinary people is also a very good spiritual material.
Odysseus came outside, stopped in front of the villa, and began to squat and draw a magic circle at the bottom of the wall.
Since he prepared essential oils, he didn't have to worry about them being washed away by rain.
After finishing the front side, draw the same magic circle on the side and back.
Klein pinched his chin and stared at the strange symbols drawn by Odysseus in a daze.
These symbols were not the mystical symbols he was familiar with. Some of the symbols looked like they had wings, some looked like they had tails, and they looked a bit like giant dragons of various shapes.
This is indeed the mystical symbol of the dragon clan. Odysseus found many magic circles about flying, floating and the like from the dragon clan's magic circles.
This made Odysseus realize that dragons can fly in the sky not only because they have wings, but also because they have the help of extraordinary power.
The reason is simple. For such a big creature to fly, the energy required is enormous. Even if it flaps its wings hard, it is completely against the laws of physics to support such a big body to fly into the sky.
But this is an extraordinary world after all. Violating the laws of physics does not mean that it cannot be achieved. The dragon itself should have the ability to fly, levitate, etc. After all, the "audience" and "sailor" are adjacent paths, and in that era they often "accidentally swallowed" the extraordinary characteristics of adjacent paths.
The magic circle drawn by Odysseus is the "floating magic circle", which can greatly reduce the weight of the townhouse.
He made some improvements on the spot and formed a small "composite magic array". As long as the "main array" was drawn, the four small "floating magic arrays" could be used together.
After drawing the magic circles in front, behind, left and right, Odysseus came to the center of the living room and cleared a piece of waterless ground with Klein.
When all the spiritual materials were used up, Odysseus also drew up the "main formation".
He said to Klein, "To be on the safe side, I left two spiritual interfaces. We have to complete the operation together.
"Put your hands in these two places, yes, that's right there.
"Follow my command in a moment. The spiritual array you inject will become illusory. When I say 'turn', both hands will turn clockwise."
This was Klein's first time operating a magic circle, so he nodded immediately.
Odysseus began to count down: "Three, two, one, inject spirituality."
As the two people injected spirituality into the magic circle together, the magic circle in front of them became swelled, illusory, and emitted a holy light.
The four small magic circles outside the house also lit up with faint lights, which made the whole house seem brighter.
Creaky ~
With the heavy "creaking" sound, the townhouse seemed to shake gently a few times.
"Turn!" Odysseus gave the second order.
Klein immediately followed what Mr. Gal had just said and tried to turn it clockwise. He felt as if there was a huge stone ball between his hands, and he had to use all his strength to turn it slightly.
As the two people worked together to turn the villa, the angle of the villa slowly moved.
After working hard for more than half a minute, both of them were sweating, and the villa was finally connected with the door and door frame.
After a soft "cough", the sound of rain outside suddenly disappeared.
The two of them sat on the wet ground to rest for a while, then looked at the door handle together.
They stood up together and paused at the door before Odysseus grasped the door handle and opened the door.
The door was indeed opened.

Chapter 144 The Wizard's Curse
Chapter 144 The Wizard's Curse
Odysseus first took a carriage back to the "Nanmu Ballroom", and then returned to the Gal Herb Shop to complete his transformation.
Then he took the carriage again, returned to No. 77 Hailin Road, disguised himself as the wizard Gandalf again, and used the "teleportation array" in the basement to come to No. 66 Rose Street.
After running all the way, Odysseus sighed in his heart: "Having too many accounts is really troublesome."
Coming out of the basement in the image of Gandalf, Odysseus sat on the sofa and breathed a sigh of relief. He finally had nothing to do recently and could play the role of a wizard for a few days with peace of mind.
Thinking of this, he piled firewood in the fireplace and prepared to make a fire.
At this moment, Odysseus' spirit suddenly felt that someone was watching him, and he became a little alert, but because he did not feel threatened, he did not immediately take a fighting stance, but continued to stack firewood.
By the time the firewood was piled up, Odysseus had thought about it. Now few people knew that the new name "Gandalf" was Odysseus. The person who was peeking outside was probably here to visit the wizard Gandalf.
So Odysseus began his performance. He first recited a few spells, then blew slightly towards the fireplace, and flames suddenly burned in the fireplace, igniting the firewood.
"oops!"
Odysseus heard the screams outside and looked coldly in the direction of the door. What he didn't expect was that the person at the door was the vendor who sold Dixie pies yesterday!
When the vendor saw the wizard looking at him, he quickly stepped back.
Odysseus walked slowly to the door and opened it: "What are you doing sneaking around?"
The vendor quickly bowed and said, "Hello Mr. Wizard, I...I'm here to apologize."
"What are you apologizing for?"
"Yesterday...last night, I shouldn't have given you that burnt pie." The vendor replied quickly.
After he was robbed by the strong man yesterday, he was no longer in the mood to do business and pushed the remaining cakes home. At this time, he suddenly remembered the wizard's words, which seemed to say that he would be plagued by bad luck recently.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt that it must be a curse cast on him by a wizard.
The vendor was terrified that night, fearing that the wizard would send some monster to kill him. He did not sleep all night, and early this morning he came here and knocked on the door.
But at that time, Odysseus had already left through the "teleportation array".
The peddler knocked on the door for a long time but no one answered. He was not in the mood to do business that day, so he sat on the steps in front of the door and waited.
Just now he heard a sound in the room, so he leaned over to the window and looked out, and saw the wizard lighting the fireplace. When he saw the wizard "blowing out" the flame, he couldn't help but scream.
After listening to the other party's description, Odysseus suddenly smiled and said, "I am not so stingy as to curse you just because of a pie. When I told you that you were not very lucky recently, I was just describing the facts."
At that time, he opened his "Eye of Peering into the Mysteries" and saw that there was darkness above the head of the peddler's spirit, which was a sign of bad luck.
So when Odysseus said that, he was just trying his best to play the role of a wizard.
The vendor nodded, not quite understanding: "Then, how can I end my bad luck?"
Odysseus raised his hand and pinched his temple, then opened the "Eye of Secrets" and saw that the sky above the peddler's head was not so dark anymore, but there was no light either, which meant that his luck in the past two or three days was neither good nor bad.
He thought for a moment and said, "Come in with me."
After saying this, he walked ahead and said, "I have herbs here that can end bad luck early, but you have to pay a certain price to get them."
"What's the price?"
"16 soli." Odysseus did not ask for an exorbitant amount of money. The money he wanted was the value of the herbs themselves plus the price of a desi pie.
The vendor breathed a sigh of relief: "Okay, okay."
He has enough money with him today.
Odysseus took a small paper bag, opened one of the cans, and used a wooden shovel to scoop some powder into the paper bag.
The moment Odysseus opened the jar, the vendor behind him seemed to smell the scent of sunshine.
In Backlund, this smell is intoxicating.
Odysseus folded the paper bag and handed it to the vendor: "Go back and take a bath with this medicine. After you use it, your bad luck will end early."
In fact, it was the powder of "Golden Edge Sunflower" with a little "Golden Tangerine" powder added.
If you feel the house is damp, sprinkle a handful of this powder into the fireplace and most of the moisture will be removed immediately.
And if you use it to take a bath, you will feel warm all over and very comfortable.
The peddler's bad luck was over, and such an experience would make him think that he had escaped it with the help of a wizard.
Seeing that there were only a few herbs, the vendor paused before quickly taking out the money and counting out 16 soli.
He felt that it was too little because he was not a fan of mysticism. Odysseus had been selling herbs for so many years and had never shortchanged anyone.
Mysticism is a very expensive hobby.
And Odysseus was quite conscientious in only selling him this much.
Odysseus leaned his staff against the wall, took the money with one hand and handed the medicine to the vendor with the other: "Young man, remember this lesson."
Although Odysseus was not that stingy, he was not generous either. If the vendor had given him a replacement for the burnt pie yesterday, he would have beaten the big man so badly that he would never dare to rob again in his life.
The vendor took the herbs and nodded repeatedly: "Yes, yes, yes."
After seeing the peddler off, Odysseus returned to the sofa and sat down, warming himself by the fireplace and reading a book to pass the time.
I had a quick bite at noon and continued reading in the afternoon.
This made Odysseus sigh in his heart: Such a day is really pleasant, I really hope the next customer can come later.
Just then, a phrase appeared in his book: Here I come.
Odysseus did not put down the book and continued to read: "Fortunately, I didn't wait for you to save my life."
"You changed your address and your clothes. It took me a long time to find you." Bernadette's voice came through the air.
Odysseus said: "I met someone from the 'Moss Ascetic Order' again..."
He recounted his experiences that morning, but of course he did not mention the spoils.
The air was silent for two or three seconds before Bernadette asked, "They only sent a Sequence 6 to capture you?"
"You also feel that something is wrong, right?"
Bernadette did not answer Odysseus' question, but asked in return: "Did they attract you to a certain place, or leave important clues to a certain place?"
Odysseus thought about it carefully before saying, "No, at least I don't remember it.
"If anything, it makes Bernie's residence more important."
Before that, Odysseus had already felt that it was not a very important clue.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
But after what happened today, I must check the address carefully, but I will use the "mechanical heart" to check it.
The air was silent for a while again, and then Bernadette said, "I've also been looking for someone from the Moss Ascetic Order recently.
"I can sense that they are currently planning something big, but I am not sure what it is."
Odysseus nodded. "We can exchange information with each other at any time. I will ask the Mechanical Heart in a few days if they have found anything."
"good."
Ding-ling-ding-ling~
Odysseus glanced at the door and whispered, "Wait a moment, I'll go see who it is."
Arriving at the door, Odysseus saw that the visitor was a man in his thirties, whose clothes were not luxurious but elegant, so he opened the door and said, "Hello."
"Hello." The man's eyes were a little cross-eyed, which made him look a little funny. "Excuse me, are you Gandalf the Wizard?"
"Yes." Odysseus said in a calm tone, "Please come in."
Odysseus walked in front and sat down in his original seat without any courtesy, then gestured to the guests to sit down.
The man sat opposite Odysseus and looked somewhat nervous.
Odysseus said, "I'm sorry, I don't have any tea or coffee."
After a pause, he decided to say the following line: "My drink is highly poisonous to you, so I won't offer it to you."
The man immediately sat up straight and said, "I'm not thirsty, I'm not thirsty."
A voice suddenly appeared beside the fireplace: "Haha."
The man stood up suddenly, almost falling down because he stood up so quickly: "Who? Who's there?"
"You heard wrong." Odysseus smiled and said, "There is no one there."
The man looked left and right at the fireplace, and when he found that there was indeed no one there, he sat down again with a cautious look on his face.
Odysseus said: "Tell me what you want to see me about."
The man calmed down a bit before saying, "Mr. Wizard, please keep what I am about to say a secret for me."
"Okay, go ahead." Odysseus had a bad feeling.
The man seemed to muster up the courage to ask: "Can you let me have a child?"
Odysseus was somewhat helpless: "Why give you a child? You can't give birth to one."
"Haha!" Laughter rang out again near the fireplace.
The man stood up for the second time, trembling and looking at the fireplace: "Who is there?"
"No one." Odysseus sighed and said, "Let's talk business."
He asked, "You two are infertile, right?"
After hearing the word "infertility", the man stopped looking at the fireplace and said somewhat shyly: "Yes, yes."
Odysseus thought for a moment and said, "I do have a plan. Come back tomorrow with 50 pounds."
The man was somewhat unconvinced: "Really?"
Odysseus smiled and said, "The rational use of herbs is what wizards are best at. If you don't believe in it, don't come."
He just wanted to finish this "business" quickly to avoid the person by the fireplace laughing again.
"Yes, yes, I will come tomorrow."
After sending the man away, Bernadette's voice was heard again in the air: "Are you a wizard or a pharmacist? Or do you want to 'give' a child to his wife?"
"Be more reserved." Odysseus said helplessly, "I didn't even make such a joke."
He paused and continued, "It's just that I happen to know a pharmacist who is very trustworthy and his prices are very fair. A dose of herbal medicine costs only 10 pounds.
"In the case of this man, maybe the couple needs one dose each."
